@mrmegasaturn Maybe daito ryu aikijujutsu, or maybe yoskinkan aikido... but most definately not aikido as it's taught in the Aikikai. Brutal twisting and grinding on your partner is NOT AiKiDo.
the problem with many martial arts, or the way they are taught, is they dont change with the times. a good teacher should be able to evolve, and realize what was taught 100 years ago, or more, may not apply today. all martial arts are situational, meaning they were made to fit a certain situation in combat or self defense. over time those situations change, so should the martial art. if they don't their students will be the ones that suffer on the streets.
Hapkido est un art martial destiné à contrecarrer circulaire et non pas certains styles sauvages martiaux que nous connaissons. Grande exposition, et ne pouvait être mieux, venez DE FRANCE !!!!!!!!!! FÉLICITATIONS!
You all need to keep in mind that Hapkido is not a head to head combat art. It is self defense based. Offensive vs defensive. Most self defense techniques you see in Hapkido are illegal in mma. It is all about avoiding the situation. That's what seperates Hapkido from other styles.
Opponents so compliant, they even help the instructor to look more effective...No wonder there is no hapkido in MMA...When some fighters claim to practice aikido o hapkido in MMA they never apply their tecniques...they resort to kickboxing o jiujitsu.
@TheZeyver mma is no real fighting you dickhead, get over it. In real life you will not find fat guys jumping on each other all the time. wrestling with some punches and kicks. in a real fight you would just break such losers hands when hes lying on you and tries to hit you
@SnowmanPen Yikes. "in a real fight you would just break such losers hands when hes lying on you and tries to hit you." Wristlocks are allowed in mma. I'm not hating on hapkido. Just saying. And since I know you will retort with "but their wrists are wrapped" -- 1) that prevents a wristlock? really? 2) wristlocks are also allowed in bjj and any submission grappling competition, but are rarely applied successfully (obviously no "wraps" present in such comps).
@TheZeyver Actually many Hapkido techniques are illegal and considered "dirty" in mma. The reason they appear "compliant" is that if they do not roll or jump...the joint will either break, or a ligament will tear,or a muscle will rip. That way the practitioner can practice the motion necessary to perform the break without actually doing damage. You should look up north Korean security forces...they learn hapkido.
Very well executed! I see this person understands the fundamental and essential Hapkido motion. Ji Han Jae root maybe, very specific like authentic Hapkido. excellent.

there is one of the rule of Bushido that "don't curse other styles and people"
then we suffer and belt up in a long time for Korean style.
but i must say Gumdo is just copied the surface of Japanese Kendo only without the reason(理)and Samurai spirits.
this is not Budo(武道) anymore,Korean changed worsely as Korean twiddle leaping dance.
stop to exhibit fake Korean Budo in the Japan Expo in Paris!!!!
