@guildfordrunner not the g-400... the g-400 only comes in black and red, but if you get a custom or a different model, they come in a few other colors. i think yellow, white, but nothing else for the g-400.

@xHarland both are pretty heavy... theres no distinctly lighter one. just go with what suits your style more. I will say the frets on this sg are jumbo, your hands might not be big enough to play comfortably.

if distortion is an effect, than no. requires high gain for that sound. there are some pickups that come wth overdrive (distortion) but those are not on that guitar

That's the Faded G400, those have the Alnico Classics in them, the regular G400 has Alnico V's.

the G-400 with the alnico 5 pick ups the 2008 and 2009 are made with highend hardware are the G-400 62 and 66 SG

its a limited time on the hardware.

the G-400 SG is also the 62 its also Gibson Authorized. Grover tuners. Alnico 5 humbuckers. heavy duty tone and volume pots 500's. has the same locking tune o matic the Gibson sg has. the G-400 SG 62 is also on limited time. its simply brilliant!
