i have a question. So the other day i dropped all of my rubber bands on the floor so i had to wash them, then when i put them back on, i didnt feel as much pressure as before. Was that because of the water loosened them ? I'm very afraid that they wont work anymore. And how often do i have to replace the new ones ?

@snowqueen93 Hi! I wantd to experiment with the water before I gave you an exact answer. I did not experience any change with the elastics after washing them with water. Keep in mind that the elastics must be durable since they are worn in your mouth 24 hours a day. We consume hot meals and beverages on a daily basis, so they have to be able to withstand that type of stuff. Also,theres the possibility that your teeth are moving quickly and that you may be just getting use to the pressure.

@mskinkybeauty They are perfectly fine. Rubber is water resistant in most cases, but if you have concerns ask your ortho. I replace my rubberbands multiple times a day....maybe like 2-4 times a day. My orthodontist gives me tons of them so I'm never lacking rubberbands. Make sure to ask your ortho for a ton of em.....they have plenty. thnx for watching!

@13pinkpower Yes, please make sure that you floss. It really helps with maintaining healthy gums. If you don't floss with braces you have an even greater chance of getting gingivitis. Thanks....all I do is try to brush after every meal or at least twice a day....and floss once a day or at least a couple of times per week. Also rinse often with mouth wash.

Hey question, i lost the pack of bands my dentist gave me, the ones im using now are big to me where as the others were small, does this matter? the ones im using now say impala on it, an the ones i was supposed to have were pretty small

@yurpvideo Hi there...Yes it definitely matters which rubber bands that you use. You can ask your dentist or orthodontist for some more.....they have loads of em in the office. You wanna make sure that you use the rubberbands that they give you because they will effect the way your teeth move. hth!

@yurpvideo They will change how fast your teeth move. The orthodontist gives different size rubberbands which affects the pressure on the bracket.This pressure is what moves and straightens the tooth.The different sizes of elastics represent the different strengths.

@Hogling007 I'm sorry I didn't show that in the video, but you just do the reverse of what I showed. Use the little rubberband holder, or your finger, to pull the rubberband off the hook of the bracket. hth!

@MzRiZzA yep....they started working on that about 2 months ago by removing my power chain and using the sliding method. I would definitely ask questions about that if I was you....

@sublime35113 Yes, I have noticed a small change, but my ortho claims that my teeth are moving, but very slowly. My dentist has also shown me x-rays of how my braces and rubberbands have significantly decreased the gaps between some teeth.
