This bit is so hilarious because it's true. As much as men hate to admit it, they need a woman to keep them grounded and prevent them from going off and doing something crazy. Every straight guy has at least one woman to thank for stopping him from doing something really stupid and dangerous at least one time in his life.
I like Marc Maron, but this clip is so pedestrian. Going by this, I'd think he was a writer for TV sitcoms... If I hadn't heard him on Keith and the Girl and WTF first.
This clip says it's six minutes long but it stop after 50 seconds. Marc is successful if not massively famous. He's been on Letterman dozens of times. That makes him more successful than 99% of stand-ups.
He's also been on Conan's show 42 times. Ryan, if you really watched him in the 90s, you would know that he's always done the bitter thing. That's what makes him so great.
"In pathetic comedy clubs" Ha ha! Let me guess, you stopped liking him when he went on Air America, right?

I used to love Mark Maron's stand up comedy in the 90s, but he's turned into a horrible, wretched human being. I see this a lot on old stand up comics. They thought they'd get SNL or a sitcom or be famous in the movies, but when that doesn't happen, they get ground down by 15 years in pathetic comedy clubs. They see other comics making it big and think "WHY WASN'T I IN THE HANGOVER!?"
This exact same comment is at the top of very Marc Maron video I click on. So it's clear that instead of just sharing your opinion, you're basically cyber-stalking\harassing Marc. Get a life you fucking idiot!
*loves on Marc Maron* Can anyone here tell me where I might be able to get my hands on a copy of his HBO special from the mid 90's (I think it was '96, but am unsure). I think I still have it on VHS somewhere, but would kill for it on DVD. Thanks in advance!
Hes good at interviewing ppl on his podcast. Very articulate. Is that to much? I like him

Clear this up for me. this stand up was done in the 90s right?
Dramacydal18 2 years ago
@Dramacydal18 No, he looks like he does now, not like he did even in 2000. It's current.

@oakmot Thanks for clearing that up.

So you think "old" comics (old being over 35 in your estimation) should quit comedy? Nice.

He will be famous. When Carlin died I thought that was the end of intellectual comedy...until I happened upon WTF with Marc Maron. I'm an addict.
