Yes Allegra Bless i'm Glad your MOM told you everything at a early age..I know a person that was close to me that I HAVE NATURAL KIDS WITH, BUT HER family member needed her donation..I was very objective and still is because they do not tell the kids the TRUTH of origin for that child..My kids call that child their cousin which I know they are his brother and sister, that is why I cannot comprehend why they do not explain to my kids. The TRUTH MUST BE TOLD!! as my kids must know.It is a blessing
she's cute. i hope my kids will be that great when they grow up. i am a lesbian seeking a sperm donor. just is another segment to understand. HMM i hope i an still be fertile into my 30's + i want to focus on my career. dating is a problem for me. i was a sexual assault victim so i have problems with relationships. i am a mixed asian girl. UH
I am a college student, and I am contemplating being an egg donor. I was previously married and didnt have children with my husband since we divorced too soon, though I wish I could have had children with him. Maybe if I donate my eggs, I will be able to have children through someone else who can raise them better then I ever could. I highly doubt I will have children in the future since finding a good husband seems difficult.
We are a couple seeking an Asian egg donor to help build our family. In order to qualify as an Exceptional Donor you should:
* Be between the ages of 19 and 31. * Be above 5’8 (177 cm) * Be of Japanese or Korean origin. * Be IVY League educated. * Be superior intelligent. Have a documented high IQ, if you have been tested. (Or be willing to take an IQ test if requested). * Have SAT scores of 1350+, ACT scores of 30+ (If you have not taken it, that is ok.)
Good health is usually better means of selection. The medical field is still to this day debating over genetic determinism in the matter of whether intelligence is truly inheritable or if it is only a small component .. Those are good hopes but not all is determined by genes alone...even twins can be different from each other. Hope your search has been successful. :)
Ok, let's put it this way: supposed you are a black father and the donor from which those eggs were retrieved, how do you think this child will be( a white kid or a black kid)? Let's say you're white who can't get pregnant is a black woman, you are black and you get those eggs from a white woman. Is there a chance that this child will still be white?
@richefilon the egg is from a white person caring the Caucasian genes, and depending the males ethnicity. the child should end up being mixed because of the donor, so basically the fertilized egg is put into the non biological mother, all she is doing is caring the child.
@yummyykaramel Well is it the procedures that take place to retrieve the eggs, or the medications of FSH and gonadotrophins that scare you? There are plenty of support groups out there, good luck! :D
hii.. waw i admire you. my mom was considering this two. she had 8 miscarriages before she had me , and i was born 2 months and a half to early and spend the first 5 months of my life in the hospital. ( im fine now, im 16 and in pre-university and going to university in 3 months. i study biology, chemistry, physics. i can speak five languages and i sing and dance and act ) i lost a sister 10 days after her birth. now i have a bro that's 10 and a sister that's 6. i want to become a egg donor :)
Allegra - Thank you so much for sharing this video. I'm in my mid 20's and may have to use Donor Eggs. My biggest fear is my child's feelings. You've made this decision easier for me, thank you. You're parents are very lucky as are you to have had such a great upbringing to make you the person you are!
davlor - in anonymous donation, her REAL mom (the woman who gave birth to her and raised her) doesn't necessarily receive any info about the donor. Sometimes a profile and photos are shared, and sometimes, nothing at all is known. The donor's genes will be part of the child forever, but she is not the mom. How can you call her mom "adoptive" when she went through the pregnancy, the birth, and every other part of having and raising this child?
You are one AWESOME girl! Your parents did a wonderful job and you're right to be proud to talk about your origins. Some of us came from really bizarre beginnings but who cares. We're here now in this really amazing thing called life. You'll have a great one Allegra!
i don't understand how is it that she doesn't know anything about her egg donor (or real mom) i mean her parents (bio dad and adoptive mom) never told her anything about her or what?
This story is beautiful and so is the young lady. She is a miracle...

@ryohayashi Not uncommon actually. Weight can hinder the ability to conceive in some women, not all but some.

Her drawback is nothing big. I look nothing like my mom. I have brown wavey hair, and am 5'9'. She has very curly red hair and is only 5'6.

I think its only normal to be curious about one's genetic origins. I think egg/sperm donation is a wonderful option.

@davlor86 most donor are anonymous. Majority of reproductive facility makes it very iron clad about you not knowing who is donating the egg.
