That is awesome! That's what I was trying to do with one of my videos - I only made one because I couldn't find any here and I am so happy to see yours! Did you use a web cam? I just mounted a regular camera on a tripod but I have to remember to go click it every day...
Yes it's just a standard webcam. As I use linux I just setup a cronjob to download a frame once an hour during daylight hours.
