i know what you say when you mean you kind of ignored the god at first. i pretty much immediately connected with the goddess and i didn't feel as comfortable with the god. very helpful video though - thank you and blessed be!
I think all Goddesses and Gods from all patheons/religions are a part of the One. I feel some attractition to certain Goddesses (I need to work on Gods) but for now, I call them Lord and Lady, Mother and Father, God and Goddess. I don't know if I will ever choose patron gods and matron goddesses; I feel many speak to me. Blessed Be, All! )O( \O/

@MasonAlexStudios That is absolutely fine :) You're right, they are not evil and that are very much a part of natural life. Some of them may be slightly intimidating and if you only assocaite with them it MAY be kind of heavy, so it is always advised to work in balance and keep dark with the light. But if you connect to the Crone that is great and perfectly alright; I connect to the mother. We all have our calling. x
Thanks for the advice, I feel a connection to the moon goddesses more, I think. But after being Wiccan for 4 years, and having still not found anyone, I think the best thing to do is wait. Just keep learning.
I have had a strong bond with the spiral god and spiral goddess, long before I was Wiccan. I had to keep it a secret because of the household that I was brought up in. :( Both the spiral god and spiral goddess are a cornerstone in my spiritual feelings. I felt them when I was very little, but I didn't know who they were 'til I got older.
@Pagyptsian It is! :) It's one of the few things that actually helped me along in my life. I have a terrifically dark past. I'm lead to believe that these deities were protecting me and aiding in my ability to preserve important spiritual information in my subconscious, so that I could tap into it when I needed it.
@DayMare2000 Sorry to hear about your misfortune :( But the fact that you are still here and has spirituality is proof that they protected you. Blessed be to you! )O( x
Thank you Pagyptsain. Im new to the practice and your videos have helped me so much. And when I say im new. I mean it. Like going on 2 days now. I thank you for posting these videos. They have helped me in my journey down the path.
@JizzJurisdiction You will feel very attracted to a certain name or pantheon. They will keep bringing signs or their name keeps popping up. They usually make it obvious by planting the idea in your head or showing you outer signs.
My patron God is Tyr. There was no awakening or epiphany. We were just drawn together from the very beginning. He is to me the uncle with whom I share most in common and with whom I can talk most freely. Moreover, I did not have to go looking for my patron amongst strangers because Tyr is family...and this is an integral part of my beliefs which includes praise and veneration of ancestors, from my grandfather and redheaded grandmother (who was an absolute saint) to Tyr and his wife Zisa.
I will respond in more familial terms as most modern language is ill-equipped to deal with our ancient Heathen beliefs. Tyr was always my uncle and the one with whom I shared the most in common. You cannot choose family and your mother is always your mother as your uncle is always your uncle. That being said, I did not know Tyr very well when I was younger. Metaphorically, he lived far away and I had very little opportunity to meet with him and talk with him.
When I was about 11 or twelve years old, I met Tyr for the first time. I enjoyed his company and learned from his wisdom. However, it was a while before I got to meet him again. Only when I was 16 did I become a Heathen in earnest. Now, I do not wait for meetings with family. I plan them. I have matured and realized the inherent value in family. I spend time with my mother whenever I can. I talk to Tyr on a regular basis.
Moreover, should I spend time with another uncle or aunt or grandparent, that is wonderful, too. Just because I share the most in common with Tyr does not mean I cannot turn to another family member for help.
I've always felt a strong connection to the Egyptian culture, so I chose Isis as my matron Goddess from a list of loads of others. I've never been to meet her, but I do feel connected to her. The problem is, I have difficulties with 'seeing' deities in meditation etc, so I think I would have problems if I went to 'meet' her. Can anyone give me any advice?
@ThornWitch I know exactly what you mean. This is something I too need to develop. A really useful thing to do that I've found is to go out into nature and 'touch' your deity. E.g Sekhmet, go out and sit in the sun, or Tefnut, place your hands in some water? Isis is more difficult but she can be seen with pregnant animals, mothers and often flowers, so give it a try :)
Also, what I always do now is in meditation I start by imagining her. Pictureing her in my mind until she manifests.
For me, I feel spiritually connected with Anubis. He came to me in a dream, and after wards I felt that he was my spiritual guardian. Strange because he is the god of underworld and death, but for me he represents re-birth and the death of my old self because after that dream my life turned out for the better and I discovered who I truly was...I am trying to get back into Wicca, paganism, but I have always practiced my own way, a little ancient Chinese culture (Tao) and Egyptian (Anubis).
@ChouLian23 I always found it more enlightening when you blend paths :) And I can definately see the rebirth side to Anubis! He gave life to his father afterall :)
I've had that problem when I got started. I changed Gods like crazy O.o Now, I've found the Egyptian Pantheon and I was thwacked (so to speak) by Set, who wouldn't let me be XD I chose Nebt-Het however, as She seemed to be the natural Goddess counterpart for Set. As for the other cultures, I've always felt drawn to Apollo, but I gave Him a separate shrine (somehow I think Set would not have liked sharing with anyone but Nebt-Het haha)
@Pagyptsian He's generally businesslike, but He can be gentle and He has a very interesting sense of humour XD. I met Nebt-Het through Set, when I asked Him about Her. Set's really protective and He has no patience for my laziness haha As for Nebt-Het, She's very soft spoken, as in, She doesn't say much however She and Set are rather comforting to be around
@MissMalaise That is really interesting! I want to meet her but even though I haven't formally I still feel as if I know her. Before I knew anything about her I knew that she doesn 't speak much or at all. I don't know why but she draws me in. She isn't my matron I don't think though. I dunno, can you have more than one?
Does Set ever feel negative at all - not to be direspectful to him, but just out of curiosity.
@Pagyptsian I suppose you can, depending on what the Deities themselves think. As Aset (Isis) really draws you in, I suppose it's natural to be drawn to Nebt-Het as She's considered the darker side of Aset. I'd ask Aset and see what She says. As for Set, he's been stern, and He has caused some chaos in my life, but so far it's been all for the good. Thanks to him, I'm beginning to see the pattern of destruction leading the way for progress :) I suppose some people might need a gentler hand.
@MissMalaise I see that kind of like how a forest fire destroys things in its path but then leaves the ground fertile for new life. I think I will seek some time with Nebet-Het soon. Thanks!
i'm lucky, my patron male deity chose me. i've felt Pan's presence my whole life. but i had to search for my goddess. it was actually incredible when i found her. i found Maia, the oldest of the Greek pleides. in mythology she bore Hermes by Zeus. and of course Hermes is the father of Pan. now on the other hand, Maia is connected with Bona Dea in Roman mythology, also called Fauna. now Fauna is the daughter of Faunus, the Roman equivalent of Pan. so this is all pretty extraordinary.
Thanks so much for the advice! Surprising as it is, I've never heard the advice to go out and MEET the deities that I'm interested in getting to know. It's good advice, and I intend to take it to heart. =)
Very helpful! I haven't found my Goddess yet but I am attracted to the moon so I'll take your fab advice. Thank you for sharing this video! Bleesings!

I wanted to add that I had the mother Goddess coming to me as a huge snake and then id have Selene coming to me. The mother Goddess then told me that Selene and the other Goddesses are aspects of the Mother Goddess xxx
