The character sprites look more or less like the Mario Kart 64 ones. The tracks are like a souped up Super Mario Kart for the SNES. It's an interesting mix.

We really dug these graphics back in GBA days. Portables used to be pretty far behind consoles. GBA came out in 2001. Until then most handhelds were 8-bit. There were a few minor handhelds, mostly in Japan, but until GBA there really was nothing that caught on. The Lynx & Nomad were gigantic & ate batteries in less than an hour. I'm not sure why the Neo Geo Pocket and Pocket Color didn't catch on. NGPC was a great system. No backlight, but I still like it a lot. I really wish it had more games.

You know, in mario kart 7 there is still one other retro track to be confirmed. Personally I hope that a course from this game makes that last space. The reason is because there are loads of tracks in this game that are awesome like ribbon road. Instead of bringing back the bowser castles in the retro courses, they should pick courses that are more exclusive to this game.

um i think this is more like mario kart 64! the characters are the same. the graphics are very similar. ( especially the character selection screen! ). the item boxes are floating above the ground. a lot of the characters have the same voices. (i said a lot not all, luigi sounds really bad!) and the controls are similar too! the snes version you had to press B to drive! the only thing this game has in common with super mario kart is they both have coins and they both have the word "super" in it!
