  • @CoDMwHacks you only have the one hard drive but 2 partitions, d is an extra partition that was placed in by the factory to run a system restore, your pc should be equipped with an option to restore your system back to factory.

  • lol why is everyone complaining about the pics of the girls isnt that what 99 percent of guys look at when they are bored just be happy he put it in there lol....

  • I have an Acer aspire M5200, and the right side panel won't come off. Is there some trick to it?

Also, if I replace my C: drive, do I have to worry about patching the power ratings to avoid over-taxing the PSU?

  • um why is there a pic of a woman in this video???

  • 3:11 WTF?!??!

  • What type of computer was that. It was twice big than mine.

  • when u replace your hard drive don't u need to find the driver CDs

  • 3:10 post traumatic flashback from a girl who busted my nuts two hours before i saw this video

  • when i install a new hard drive, do i need to reinstall windows?

  • ''just kinda wiggle this back and forth and it comes out''

    LOL

  • 3:12

    That's what she said lol

  • because you are using a magnetic screw driver you need to be careful that it doesnot touch the hard drive. magnets can damage hard drives.

  • lol

  • 3:11 / 3:10 wtf???

  • ppc-fix.webs.com

  • dont yo have moe screws why cd-rom today laptop drives are sata dont need ide shit is garbage !

  • haha lol at 3:11 nice picture there buddy :)

  • I HAVE PROBLEM WITH MY CD ROM...IS LIKE WHEN I PUT A CD THE CD ROM DONT READ IT SO WHAT SHOULD I DO..??

  • 3:10 lol

  • what the hell is with the pic of a lady also showing her ass

  • Over all this is a Good Video props for thee effort!

At-least the video's not all shaky with distorted audio.

The ribbon explanations are good for user's who don't know any better.

  • How do we jump from Laptop to Desktop?

As a matter of fact what the hell were we doing with a laptop in the first place?

The title lists "How to replace your hard drive" but this file goes into laptop batteries & so on.

It's best to pull a hard drive/cdrom out of a PC with the ribbon still attached to the drive, Why? Because after a few years they break real easy.

So get em out & apply even pressure.

Besides you'd want the 80-wire ribbon for testing not the 40 used on most cdroms.

  • how do i do this on my sony vaio pcg-k35 laptop i need to put in a new harddrive the old one crashed but i do not know how to do this very well i did buy the new hard drive today so let me know how to do this...

  • @TheNascarfan14 Under your laptop you should see an access panel, one for memory and one for hard drive, take the screw out to remove the panel and the hard drive will slide out, Place the new one in and install the OS, after you can get a usb adapter to fit your old drive and plug it into a usb port to get your data back.

  • @BetaFlux thanks!

  • @BetaFlux the hard drive is crashed.....

  • Yeah blonde chick in jeans, bald eagle and some sort of electronic board, are we being quized like running on the wii how many dogs ran by you. anyways god video.

  • @Ninjamanproduction hahahahaha sorry but haha:D

  • he used a magnetic screw driver on hes CD ROM drive witch is a dangerous thing to do because the magnet can hard the magnetic parts of your CD ROM drive /hard disk

i recommend you never do it again of course it's your choice

  • @Ninjamanproduction Just make sure that you plug the cable into your cd-rom all the way, sometimes you can knock them lose when you are in there.

  • @Ninjamanproduction Make sure you plugged your cd rom back in correctly.

  • @Ninjamanproduction Look on the front of your drive where you put the cd and you will see a small hole, stick a paper clip into that hole and you will feel it push on the mechanism that opens the door, push a little bit and the door will open.

  • LOL nice girl!!!xD

  • 3:11 = FAIL

  • Would be great if you could make a whole ''how to build a computer'' (a simple one), don't need to be high spec, just so that I/ others who don't know how to do (build one) can learn how to do and maybe try it out for real some time. You know ''starting from scratch'', (cpu, motherboard, graphics etc.) and then get it 100% functional'', lol. Would be cool if you could do that!

I believe I just made a video request? Once again, would be cool if you could do that! ///Mathias921

  • @mathias921 That would take a series of videos and it would take alot of time, all computers are different so I would have to do one for every model. take an A+ course and that would learn you what you are looking for.

  • @BetaFlux Ok I see, but thank you anyway ;)

  • @BetaFlux Or maybe I made a misstake. I just wanted to know in maybe a 2min video how to put everything together, that's all .. lol, sry for dubble posting

  • @mathias921 Well its easy enought :P no need for guides :)

  • you forgot to wear static ground strap on your wrist...bad bad idea forgot to wear static ground strap.

  • He may of earthed himself by touching the computer case before he done anything.

  • Yeah I have always been real careful about static electricity, but of course just touching the case will ground you.

  • 3:11 Yummy!

  • yeah wtf is up with that

  • 3:10 lol

  • 90% of laptops are not like this, I own a mac book , (Yes its a mac) but you take the batt out and the open that l bracket and just like the isk drive out, and in other pc's its over by the lojic board

  • @Mycatisbigfoot

wait so how would you get to the computer chip, just to erase the history of websites your computer has been on? please reply i really need help.... :)

  • 03:11 Nice one.

  • uppdated my ass xP

  • mine are hand held screw

  • your from Mafia the game ?

  • 3:10 wth?

  • Video icon

  • I thought you shouldn't use magnetic screwdrivers cause it interfears with the electronics...dont get me wrong im just asking

  • no offense taken, magnetism can cause malfunctions. I have been using them for years no problem, I think the magnet would have to be much stronger to cause damage.

  • what is with the flashes of images..are we being brainwashed or something ??

  • that is the video icon,

  • hay dude you look like VITO CORLIONII from the god father, hahaha yeah...to smart for computers....JK,thankx dude.

  • sexy pic^^

  • where exactly can i buy a hard drive? around what cost is it? ,,,,what happens if i dont change it?what causes this hard drive to mess up?,,,

  • I need to order a PCB for a Barracuda hard drive 300 GB, does anyone know of a source?

  • tigerdirect(dot)com

    microcenter(dot)com

  • Thanks, I'm checking with both. I've ordered a lot of components through Tiger. The have an outlet store nearby, also. I searched for HD circuit boards but did not locate any.

  • What are there a engle and a girl and 3:11 and 3:46

  • I was trying to get the video icon to work, in the old days you had to have a photo at the exact venter of your vid to get the icon.

  • Lol, i saw the chick 2 at 3:11 !..a nice distraction you have there betaflux, but good informative vid anyway :)

  • lol 3: 11 :P

  • so how much does a hard drive cost for a lap top? ... so I just buy a new one and replace the old one?

  • also ... are there different hard drives in the lap top ... so do I need to replace them all or just one ... because some hard drive broke in my computer ...

  • You only have one hard drive in a laptop and you should take yours out first to see if it is a sata or ide connection.

you can pick up a new drive for about $50.00 look online for it, if you go to a store like best buy or something you will pay a lot more.

  • thanks ...

  • It's normal to have plugs that are not used on the power supply. if your pc will not turn on you may need a new power supply.

  • I cant get the other side of my copmuter door to open. I want to remove my harddrive but the otherside doesnt have screws only rivets. how do i remove rivets?

  • is it a dell? You have to take the front cover off. I bet your hard drive slides out the front,

dont force the cover off it has tabs holding it in or small screws.

  • whos da chick at 3:11

  • That's the exact center of the video which is where the thumbnail preview is taken lol.

  • What do I do when I replace the one and only main drive?

How do I get the machine to see the new drive? How do I get get windows to operate? I get an invalid boot/booting from C: windows NTdetect failed

  • You have to install windows on the new drive.

  • everyone stop bitching its not his fualt u got to this video ur the dumbasses who was spasific enough dumbasses

  • stop at 3:11, lol. i wonder how many people saw the woman in the vid??

    FIT

  • plug ?

dous he mean buttplug ? :P

  • the title is false advertising.

  • it shuld be called how to remove your LAPTOP HDD!

  • CHANGE YOUR TITLE as `LAPTOP`

  • This video is about laptop and desktop hard drives.

  • i'd be too scared to fuck up my pc

  • 3:11 ftw

  • lolitmight be a trabie

  • I'll be honest, I only clicked here because I thought this was going to be an awesome musical remix of a technical tutorial. I'm disappointed.

I'm sure this is a decent enough video. Just not what I would expect from a "remix" - I would have called this a "re-edit." Less confusion there.

  • lmao me too bud...it looks hilarious

  • what kind of disk do you use at the end to start the pc???? is it a laptop harddisk???

  • lol I thought I was being hunted seeing all those pictures

  • or just install 2 as that is the bare minium

  • this guy does not know shit about computers!!!! lol

  • lol at 3:11...

  • que maldita estupidez, espero entiendas esto porque ese video es basura.

  • 3.46 has a eagle picture, why?

  • o yea

  • i found 3.11 most exciting

  • Hey guys can any of you help with my faulty HDD? It's on my channel, please comment if you can help, watch the video. THanks.

  • many thanks Betaflux. I find your videos very helpful especially as I'm a complete klutz.

  • when u were showing the red pin #1 a face poped up lol

  • Nice video, but I hate screws, I use snap in sliders for all my drives. Hoping someone comes up with a snap in power supply soon. Haha

  • lol that babe at 3;14

  • AAAHH! Subliminal messages!

  • no subliminal messages, it is just put in to create a video icon.

  • magnetic screwdriver on a harddisk?

clever spot! but truely the strenth field is not that strong but U r right it's a forbiden tool to be used not only with a hard disk but with the rest of elec. componenets

  • it would take a much stronger magnet than that little screwdriver to disrupt the electronic device.

the only thing that a magnet will affect is a programmable chip or a hard drive, but it will take a lot of energy to do it.

  • Even static discharge can damge most parts with a PCB on your machine.

  • Well Yeah, but static discharge is a totally different element from magnetism.

  • Does this work on HP laptop's too?

  • i installed my hard drive but when i got to my computer it doesnt show the 2nd hard drive

  • thanks alot mann, after searching the net for a long time,i stumbled on your video and it worked!!!!

  • 3.11 subliminal massage,

    3.46 another subliminal massage

  • magnetic screwdriver on a harddisk?

  • thumbnail fail!

  • lmao exactly what I was thinking.

  • 1.8" ?huhu

  • Whats with the subliminal images?

  • u sed bout the pc cases stiff to get off i have a tempory fox conn case n it is stiff as fuck lol

  • Good tutorial bro. Good job. U are an excellent teacher. I believe u should do more videos. Now u got a fan.

  • wow another reason to love you tube! i thought it would be a lot harder to do something like this if i ever need to change something it would prob save a lot of money than taking it to a pc shop! great job flux! n ty again

  • 3:11

  • hot babe @ 3:10

  • Is that Windows Vista? and if it is, why doesnt it look like the regular Vista and it has the old internet explorer and the old microsoft office stuff?

    just curious xD

  • Well it cant be visa then can it?

  • xp on the silver mode

  • You can make XP any color/Style unlike Vista.

  • I know, I think I posted on the wrong video xD

  • man ur my problem solver 2 problems in 1 day

  • wtf 3:10 - 3:11

    girl with jeans pulled down...

    pervert..

  • gee now what did the icon to this video look like, Same Picture?

  • Thats A Very Nice Desktop PC.... What Specs you Got Running In That.... ?

  • Dude are you serious? Don't use a magnetic screwdriver if you're getting near circuit boards. Come on now.

  • Seriously, I've been using a magnetic screwdriver for more than 19 years and have yet to experience and difficulties. given the strength of a magnetic screwdriver it would have to lay against a sensitive component for hours to affect it.

  • i PUT THE hard drive on a working computer, but it show only blue screen and even in safe mod also show on blue screen. in the blue screen said if this is the first time you see the erro..........

    now what should I do?

  • The working computer is trying to boot to your hard drive not the original drive, you have to make sure it is not listed as the boot drive, either you have to plug it into the secondary cable or if it is a serial drive then go into the bios and make sure the original drive is the one set to be the first boot drive.

  • You're talking like laptops are generic, every model has a different method. some laptop MOBOs have the memory built in.

  • how do you place the [hdd-led/rest-sw/power-sw/power-led] to your motherboard i have a [k7som+] motherboard and i dont know how to hook up the cords correctly

  • type your motherboard + manual into google and it will take you to the links for the manufactures page to find your manual.

  • ECS should be able to tell you how to do that, download the manual on their website.

  • lmao subliminal message!

  • lol 3:11 your a perver!!!!

  • lol yep i saw that O.o

  • how do you fix a os not found the hard drive doesnt want to work

  • It is easier just use USB HD boot up the laptop then do that.

  • I lol'ed at 3:11

  • i was like wut hell lol

  • taht was so interesting

  • yes i have to agree this is replacing a hdd not repairing one.. you realy cant repair them..

  • you haven't repaired the hard drive!

you only removed it and replaced it !

and why is there a girl in the video?

  • For all those dickheads saying "you haven't repaired just replaced it"

When he puts the HD in the working PC and went to properties>tools>error checking. Pay atention to "AUTO FIX SYST ERRORS" and "ATTEMPT RECOVERY OF BAD SECTORS" smart haters! (It's not magic but may repair some HD by marking the bad sectors and not using them) First think then criticize. Fools!

  • you haven't repeared it

    you made a scan

    nothing else idy

  • you haven't repeared it

    you made a scan

  • looser

  • What his arse? How would you know?

  • good

  • Quite funny as your using one :/

  • what a dumb ass

  • what is a good internet service like firefox, explorer, etc. plz email me ????

  • seriously? you mean browser? i use firefox since it is fast... and it doesnt have anything to do with hardrives

  • eagle at 3:46

  • wow this made somthing so easy seem so hard

  • my hard drive doesnt start anymore any help wit that??

  • After seeing his case, I am going to cut some large holes in the back mounting plate and some holes in the case which is entec 900

  • there not cd roms , there cd drives, cd roms are what u put in to it

  • omg a magnetic screw drive ????? u dont know much do you

  • you can't delete your hard drive if it isn't in use(no power)

  • dude , i have the same computer case you have

i bought it was 15 bucks

  • First, yes a small spark will kill PC components. That's why smart technicians wear a static strap and ground themselves to the chassis.

Second, magnetic screwdriver? You may have gotten lucky this time, but I would not recommend using a magnetic screwdriver around data sensitive parts like the hard drive and motherboard.

  • Your right turn that power swich to off or unplug it but a small spark will not destroy the power supply you would need a tranist (I may have spell it wrong) of 1000 volts or more to kill it ,it normally takes quit alot of abuse before you could kill it . and you should not check off attempt to recover damaged sectors b/c if there are physical damage on the disk you will end up corupting any file that uses that sector as well the factory set's those areas bad which will be useing

  • lol yea wats up w/ da pic @ 3:11

  • dood clean your nails or stop picking your ass....

  • LOL HAHAHAHAHA

  • i have that same blanket on the couch!

  • how to u fix

disk boot failure insert disk and press enter

i have been all over the internet and no one will hwlp me i got it on vista i dont even know how it happed i just restared my coputer and shit
