  • I tried this recipe and my husband just loved it. Thank you!

  • Do you think brown sugar would be a nice alternative to white sugar? Or would that make it too rich?

  • I really do not know how it will come out. I have not used brown sugar for making Indian sweets.

Try it and let us all know.

  • I made this dish today with brown sugar...was fabulous. Reminded me a lot of sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie. Question though, I grinded the carrots and nuts to practically nothing, but in the end the pudding was crunchy. Should it have a consistency like that?

  • I think the crunchy taste is more due to brown sugar. Well if you like it that is what counts.

It may be worthwhile for you to try to cook exactly the way I have shown in the video. Then you can decide which one tastes better for you.

  • I cooked it again your way and it was just as delicious. It was too crunchy the last time because I substituted cashews with pecans and didn't mince them enough. This time around I pulverized everything to make it super smooth. It's REALLY rich. I could only have a little bowl, but so good.

  • SO SO TASTY! thanks for the recipe

  • Hi, I just had this for the first time a few weeks ago at an Indian buffet. Do you usually serve it alone or with vanilla ice cream? Also, would it taste ok if I used only 4 oz of butter instead of 8 oz? Thanks!

  • Usually it is served alone and a bit warm. However, your idea of vanilla ice cream is a good one. So go for it.

4 Oz of butter is good. Initially I wanted to use 4 OZ but later decided to make it a bit more rich.

  • Very rich!

  • i have a neighbour, she gave us some indian desert, jampala or somethin, is dark in colour and its super sweet! is like eatin sugar lol

  • looks yummy..
