i like these episodes where i see you guys working and its not just skits dont get me wrong some of them are funny but i like seeing the snakes and the feeding episodes
Hey, Brian. I have 2 baby ball python about a year old. One male one female. They are both het for albino. My question is that my male seems to be more aggressive than the female and kinda picky about eating. He doesnt eat near as much as my female. It seems that I have to really aggravte the mouse and make it move more so he is interested in it. I want him to eat more because i'm wanting to breed them when the get big enough. Any thoughts??
Just a quick thought. Youn say it is inhumane to feed live mice/rats to the snakes, but isn't it just ah inhumane to freeze the mice first? Don't they suffer more to freeze to death then to be killed by the snake? They don't get pre-killed frozen mice/rats in the wild do they? Thins is NOT a negitive comment, just (FOOD) for thought.
@ngb187 Most big Rodent companies acually use carbon dioxide chambers to kill the rodents. This causes the rodent to go unconcious first, then kills it. That way the rodent doesnt feel anything. As far as im aware none of the big company's just straight freeze them to death, its actually quite human.
My friend's ball python refuses to eat frozen mice, he lives in an area where there are no pet stores that carry mice (oddly enough) do you know of a website where he can purchase live mice/rats, that will deliver to his home?
I've got a female red-tail columbian boa and she's about 3yrs old and has become kind of aggressive, striking at the glass and such, is there something i could be doing wrong?, environment, feeding schedule? what would u do to make her more docile.
@decadence18 make sure you are always as calm as possible starting from when you first walk in the room. she's not striking because she is angry, its because she is scared. she needs to learn you are not food and you are not going to hurt her. take it slow, dont give up.
hey brian i am thinking about getting a ball python i was wondering how much should i pay for a normal and are u coming to the repticon expo in richmond january 14-16 thanks

i couldnt stop laughing at that scene haha! but yeah when i had corn snakes i would feed them frozen cause i didnt want to see the mouse die :'(

I feel really bad for those rodents you feed them. I know that there are no alternatives if you want your snakes to grow healthy but its not fair putting prey in such a small box with the snake, i mean in the wild this isn't the way it happens.
I know it's not a thing I enjoy either. They have to eat and like humans breeding cows for foos the rodents are bred for food. They are trewated well before in everyway. A lot better then most cattle. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

hey Brian, quick question. is tap water okay for snakes to drink? because ive always thought it wasnt so ive been using bottled water. my dad keeps getting annoyed with all the bottles of water im going through so is tap safe? and if not, is there something i can do to make it safe for my snakes?
man u can actually hear the mice getting attacked when he clses the tubs, bit creppy xD
i think ill breed snakes here in australia, jungles, centralians, and darwins gonna be my specialty, ill alsoo breed some bhp, womas, childrens stimsns spotted, some coastals.

Thanks for your support! We feed however many it takes to look like they have a nice lump in them, but not too big that they can't handle. Wish I coud be more specific. It's kind of a feel thing. Maybe I'll try to get it in the show for you. Thanks again, Brian(Sbtv)
It's something we're always really careful about, but it does happen on rare occasion. that's why we prefer to feed frozen thawed. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

its good that you didnt give up an stud up that thats what snakes eat, one more thing next year theres going to be a reptile expo in CA sacrament, want go there.
hey brian, i thought that you shouldint feed a live rodent to a ball python unattended. but then again you do have alot of mouths to feed. have you ever had a rodent injure one of your snakes?
We messed with a lot of different supplements, but in the end everything heard and found out really didn't make any difference when it comes to snakes. I guess they get all they need in a live or frozen rodent, so we don't use anything anymore. Hope this helps, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
Yeah, we do the same with most of our snakes. (Although, I do have a couple who wanna eat anyway. I'll give them a smaller rodent).
Brian, It was so ironic to hear you talking about the mice suffering ... while hearing them squeek at the same time.
The worst for me is hearing pinkies squeek since they usually get swallowed live.
I'm thankful that all my guys are "happy" with frozen/thawed. (But some of mine REALLY SEEM to LOVE "the hunt!) SO, I treat them to "a hunt," occasionally.
I know it is kind of wierd. I guess what a I mean is we try our best to not make them suffer before they are getting fed off. The snakes need to feed and some of ours will only take live?? I don't like it, but it's the way it is:) Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
Of course you have to always be careful, but in the 20 years I've been doing this I have never had a snake get impacted by ingesting shavings. Hope this helps. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
How about from "sand?" (Or do you keep any of your snakes in sand? Sorry, I haven't paid THAT much attention) ;)
I've got a couple of hognoses who LOVE digging around in the new sand I've given them (it's the "digestible calcium sand"). I'm hoping it won't cause any kind of problems.
Hi I have no idea what sex my ball python is. Can you help me? And do you think my snake would have a hard time switching to live mice? It eats frozen/prekilled mice right now. Thank you =)
It's always better to feed frozen if you can, just better for the snake. As for the sexing, we did a sexing vid you can check out. You probably will need some help from someone who knows how to sex snakes. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
hey brian i was wondering i ve had a corn snake fro about a year and i got another 3 weeks oga and its about 15 inches and my other 1 is like 2 and a half feet so i was wondering wen cud i take it in and to find out the sex and wen i can put my new 1 in with the bigger 1 thx
You can get it sexed right away. I would just make sure there's not too big of a size difference between them. You don't want the bigger one to crush the smaller one or something. Other then that I think it's not a problem at all. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBYtesTV)
is it true once a ball eats rats thats wat it sticks wit for life cuz i have a mice eating female which iam trying to get up to 1500grm so i can breed her to my spider but she only eats mice how many mice shud i feed her a week
Ball Pythons do like to stick to certain food, but you can get them to switch most of the time. Depends how big your Ball Python is as far as how much to feed. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
Hey, i live in the UK, And i was wondering whats best for a beginner something like a bearded dragon or something like a corn snake? One of my friends has a fat tailed gecko or something but they run to fast! I would like a reptile that like human company or is less likely to attack a human. Thank You - SnakeByte Rules! :)
Thanks for the support on the show! I think that Bearded dragons are great pets and would be a great choice for a lizard, if you're going with a snake I would say either a cornsnake or a ball python would be your best choice. Good luck and thanks again! Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
Thanks mate, could you give me some info on corn snakes and ball pythons? Do they get aggressive also how long should you leave handling your snake if it's just been fed, and can you give me some useful links on ball python or corn snakes thanks alot! Blake
I would say ball pythons. Corn snakes are VERY easy to lose because they're so tiny. Ball pythons are bigger, and much, much calmer. They also become neck massagers much faster than corn snakes.
So, when it comes to Ball Python VS Corn, I'd go for Ball Python.
We have baby Ghost corns that are feeding on frozen thawed now and we do ship to your state. We use Fedex and it goes right to your door. You can check everything out on my website: bhbreptiles (.com) Thanks, Brian(SnakeBYtesTV)
haha, a few is better than none i suppose. sorry about all the question but what are some leopard geckos you have? im thinking about breeding my hypo tangerine carrot-tail but i dont know what with. i want some odd looking babies =P.
When my corn moves up to mice that can bite(she is a baby that eats pinkys), I would like her to eat fresh mice. What is a humane method for killing rodents? One that isn't messy.
yer apperently they passed a law that stops you from feeding veterbrate to other animals in this case a pet snake because they feel pain, pretty stupid
Yeah it doens't make sence that you can kill them and freeze them and then feed them off. Like they don't feel pain when being killed by humans?? Politicians! lol BRian(SnakeBytesTV)
like you show in your vids some snakes only eat live and in england it is illegal to feed live mice to snakes. so sometimes i have to force feed it, which i really hate, is there any way you could get it used to frozen/thawed?
I really don't understand that law?? There are some Ball Pythons that just won't feed on anything but live. I don't understand why you would protect a live mouse and hurt a snake?? What's even dumber is that you can kill the mouse ansd then you can feed it??? It's really too bad. Just keep trying. Brian(SnakeByesTV)
This is my favorite episode!!And what is your favorite ball python morph?I'm guessing its your caramel albino pinstripe??IDK you always talk about it though=]
Thanks! I'm not sure what's my favorite morph?? I like so many of them I think it might be hard to narrow it down??? I do like that caramel Pin though.lol Brian(SnakebytesTV)
hey brian i love the show i have a mountian king snake and the other day i was handeling her and her mouth opened on the palm of my hand i didnt get bit but i think it might be that i have very fair skined hands and she thought i could have ben a pinkie thanks cole
It's possible?? Had you been handling anything that might have smelled like food to her?? Glad you didn't get bit, we get nailed enough:) Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)

hey brian, i thought that you shouldint feed a live rodent to a ball python unattended. but then again you do have alot of mouths to feed. have you ever had a rodent injure one of your snakes?
ghostcamo 3 years ago
Whenever you feed live you take a chance, For us it's been exremely rare for anything bad to happen. Thanks, Brian(SBtv)

Hey Brian, can snakes live in those plastic containers for the rest of her live? And what kind of heating do you use?
MikeMoldao 3 years ago
As long as the size tub is good enough for them. We use Flex watt heat tape on thermostats. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
Do you put any type of vitamin supplement on the rodents before feeding and if you do, which type do you recommend.
herrwest 3 years ago
We messed with a lot of different supplements, but in the end everything heard and found out really didn't make any difference when it comes to snakes. I guess they get all they need in a live or frozen rodent, so we don't use anything anymore. Hope this helps, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)

im not sure if u got this comment and im sorry about so many comments from me but should i feed my ball python while shes shedding? sincerly, Mathew
Dragonlord091 3 years ago
No problem at all, I normally skip feeding when they are in shed. A lot of the time they don't want to feed anyway. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
Yeah, we do the same with most of our snakes. (Although, I do have a couple who wanna eat anyway. I'll give them a smaller rodent).
Brian, It was so ironic to hear you talking about the mice suffering ... while hearing them squeek at the same time.
The worst for me is hearing pinkies squeek since they usually get swallowed live.
I'm thankful that all my guys are "happy" with frozen/thawed. (But some of mine REALLY SEEM to LOVE "the hunt!) SO, I treat them to "a hunt," occasionally.
gretap 3 years ago
I know it is kind of wierd. I guess what a I mean is we try our best to not make them suffer before they are getting fed off. The snakes need to feed and some of ours will only take live?? I don't like it, but it's the way it is:) Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
wat do u do if there are any live mice left over that werent eaten??
bmx14x93 3 years ago
We have holding cages for our extra live rodents. They are really nice cages. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
when feeding you snakes arent u woried that they will swallow substrate and die?
grimmvideo 3 years ago
Of course you have to always be careful, but in the 20 years I've been doing this I have never had a snake get impacted by ingesting shavings. Hope this helps. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
How about from "sand?" (Or do you keep any of your snakes in sand? Sorry, I haven't paid THAT much attention) ;)
I've got a couple of hognoses who LOVE digging around in the new sand I've given them (it's the "digestible calcium sand"). I'm hoping it won't cause any kind of problems.
Any opinions of that? :) Thanks again!

Hi I have no idea what sex my ball python is. Can you help me? And do you think my snake would have a hard time switching to live mice? It eats frozen/prekilled mice right now. Thank you =)
diamondzrfoeva 3 years ago
It's always better to feed frozen if you can, just better for the snake. As for the sexing, we did a sexing vid you can check out. You probably will need some help from someone who knows how to sex snakes. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)

hey brian i was wondering i ve had a corn snake fro about a year and i got another 3 weeks oga and its about 15 inches and my other 1 is like 2 and a half feet so i was wondering wen cud i take it in and to find out the sex and wen i can put my new 1 in with the bigger 1 thx
SKARLIK2031 3 years ago
You can get it sexed right away. I would just make sure there's not too big of a size difference between them. You don't want the bigger one to crush the smaller one or something. Other then that I think it's not a problem at all. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBYtesTV)

is it true once a ball eats rats thats wat it sticks wit for life cuz i have a mice eating female which iam trying to get up to 1500grm so i can breed her to my spider but she only eats mice how many mice shud i feed her a week
CrashArtSkillz 3 years ago
Ball Pythons do like to stick to certain food, but you can get them to switch most of the time. Depends how big your Ball Python is as far as how much to feed. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
she,s about 1100 grms so how many mice shud i feed her like 5 at one feeding a week?
CrashArtSkillz 3 years ago
You could feed her about that many, maybe even a few more if you really want to get her big. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBYtesTV)

paintballpwnage 3 years ago
During the breeding season we leave shed to judge when to breed the snakes. Hope that helps, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)

Bigboyblake123 3 years ago
Thanks for the support on the show! I think that Bearded dragons are great pets and would be a great choice for a lizard, if you're going with a snake I would say either a cornsnake or a ball python would be your best choice. Good luck and thanks again! Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
Thanks mate, could you give me some info on corn snakes and ball pythons? Do they get aggressive also how long should you leave handling your snake if it's just been fed, and can you give me some useful links on ball python or corn snakes thanks alot! Blake
Bigboyblake123 3 years ago
I would say ball pythons. Corn snakes are VERY easy to lose because they're so tiny. Ball pythons are bigger, and much, much calmer. They also become neck massagers much faster than corn snakes.
So, when it comes to Ball Python VS Corn, I'd go for Ball Python.
BatSnakegirl 3 years ago
are your corn snakes accustomed to eating frozen? And also how big are the ghost corn snakes if i bought one today, do you guys ship to connecticut.
xFYCNxcps22 3 years ago
We have baby Ghost corns that are feeding on frozen thawed now and we do ship to your state. We use Fedex and it goes right to your door. You can check everything out on my website: bhbreptiles (.com) Thanks, Brian(SnakeBYtesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
Do you know with a rough estimate how much shipping is to Southern Connecticut for a Ghost Corn?
xFYCNxcps22 3 years ago
It's about $60 to your door. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)

Th3R1ngRul3r 3 years ago
how do u get an adult nude mouse... and do u watch ur snakes eat to make sure everything goes down safley well for the snakes... lol
deucethepit777 3 years ago
When my corn moves up to mice that can bite(she is a baby that eats pinkys), I would like her to eat fresh mice. What is a humane method for killing rodents? One that isn't messy.
dreambrew 3 years ago
hey do u guys watch the snakes eat the live prey just in case the snake has a bad strike aand the live mouse wont cause any damage to it
deucethepit777 3 years ago
you ever get bit by mice or rats, i get bit almost everytime by feeder mice
blowgunking1994 3 years ago
Yeah I get bit by mice and rast too much. I would much rather get bit by a snake, it doesn't hurt as much:) Brian(snakeBytesTV)

yer apperently they passed a law that stops you from feeding veterbrate to other animals in this case a pet snake because they feel pain, pretty stupid
devilgod54 3 years ago
Yeah it doens't make sence that you can kill them and freeze them and then feed them off. Like they don't feel pain when being killed by humans?? Politicians! lol BRian(SnakeBytesTV)
SnakeBytesTV 3 years ago
like you show in your vids some snakes only eat live and in england it is illegal to feed live mice to snakes. so sometimes i have to force feed it, which i really hate, is there any way you could get it used to frozen/thawed?
devilgod54 3 years ago
I really don't understand that law?? There are some Ball Pythons that just won't feed on anything but live. I don't understand why you would protect a live mouse and hurt a snake?? What's even dumber is that you can kill the mouse ansd then you can feed it??? It's really too bad. Just keep trying. Brian(SnakeByesTV)

There are UTH at 3:10 in this video?
So y'all just take them off the rack and stack them so you can feed them?
NexusRebellion 3 years ago
Yah those racks are boxes that just get stacked, most of our racks are sliders. Thanks, Brian(SnakeBytesTV)
