Got to say I was a massive fan of their mix tapes and first album, then the second and third were so so at best. However just listened to the album on their website and they're getting back to what I used to love and this is definitely the pick of a good bunch off the new album, just as good live as it is recorded.

they need to start making songs like this again, this is possibly the only good song off their new album. I find it really ironic that all of their first two albums were about how terrible and corrupting the major record labels are and once they sign with one their albums start to suck, and also that they've subtly dropped their accents when they sing song of their songs.

@Brouje27 they are on the same label now as they were then so you've got that bit wrong. I love The Strokes but the fact that they are making music that sounds exactly like their stuff from 10 years ago shows that it's mostly about money for them now. AM could've written "whatever.." again and again and made a lot of cash doing so, they actually want to evolve as a band should be applauded rather than criticised, there are far too many groups like KOL that are terrified of taking risks.

@isupposeitdoes actually they released most their first album by themselves and then signed with the indie label domino, and while domino holds some rights to their last three albums, even favorite worst nightmare has been released under warner brothers. That they've gone back on a lot of the stuff they used to sing and talk about and at the same time have started to take way less risks and write songs that don't demonstrate their musical ability. Also, both kings of leon and the strokes suck.
