@deathbyvosotros Download the link in the desc for the font, then go to the file which was downloaded, extract it, then find the truefont file, right click, install. :) It will then be in all your programs.

@SoScapeoffical the same thing happened to me and I figured that was because I merged my layers incorrectly,when you merge remember to merge the 'background' layer with the 'text' layer not with any other layers you might have,dunno if that helps...

If you are using a mac it might be the command key, if you are not then I am not sure, you don't have to use shortcuts, for instance instead of control clicking on the layer thumbnail to select pixels in that layer, just right click on the layer and click "Select Pixels", and instead of hitting Ctrl+E to merge the layers, just go to Layer -> Flatten Image, and lastly instead of hitting Ctrl+F to use the last filter, just go to Filter -> (it will be at the very top of the list).

I think once you download and install it it adds it to your font book and that's what adobe uses, so just install and see if that works, sorry I haven't had any experience installing fonts.

That is because the default text color is black, so just hide the black background layer and type your text in, then select your text by dragging your mouse across it, then at the top of your screen you should see a black box, just click on it and change the color to white.
