But during Qing Dynasty, when the notion of Zhonghua Minzu was created, China was not a modern nation-state, but an empire with her ppl called subjects to the throne, not citizens. @VN808 We have genuine and valid evidence that indicates we have voyages to those islands centuries ago and laid claims to them. It is Filipino navy that is removing our claiming stone marks whenever our navy goes off those uninhabited islands. Vietnam and Philippines want to resolve in ICJ because they are weak and want other stronger nations to intervene and help them. The ICJ is dominated by the West and Japan and they would not rule in favor of us in ICJ for political reasons.

All of you really need to argue who has what and can do what? The simple fact is China is out for a land grab perhaps because they cannot manage the land they already have and want more. The other nations aside from the Philippines are doing a similar thing as well. The Spratly's are indeed part of the Philippines Archipelago and their right to the Islands in question must be honored. It seems tho China is building up their Military might for the purpose of expanding their control.
