possibly my favourite ever recording by The Cure. Encapsulates what their dark era was all about. Id recommend typing in the cure faith (bbc sessions). Also extraordinary.

This is one of their best songs ever! I bought this extended remastered cd and this version blew me away. By far better than the album version. Thanks for posting and I love the pictures you put up.

So remarkably different to the eventuall album cut on Pornography.

Now,I'm not one to question Robert Smith's judgement but in my humble opinion this studio demo version is hauntingly brilliant and this is how The Hanging Garden should have been presented on the album. With this dynamic it would have been stunning between A Short Term Effect & Siamese Twins.Perhaps the song was over developed. Anyway,I'm so thankful that Robert Smith released the demo on the Deluxe Edition for us all to enjoy.

As they all are, these live demo sets are really where the true nature of The Cure can be found. Their album versions are outstanding, but I also love these versions. Simon's dark brooding bass, together with the heavy guitar and drums are what has made this band truly great. Robert's voice speaks out to his followers in a way which not many other bands can.
