If you watch this movie The Who flat out stole the show. I absolutely love the Stones but it is fact they did not come on until the end and they were too wasted to be sharp. The Who is on fire in this movie - no argument.

@peterd1965a Not to mention that the Stones had not toured since 1966 snd the Who had been on the road for awhile. The Who upstaging the Stones was the reason that the Circus was not released until the 1990s, save for the clip of "A Quick One" on "The Kids Are Alright"

The Who, The Stones, Zeppelin…Growing up with bands like these and seeing them live in their prime makes me feel part of a special time. Having said that there are incredible bands around today (Muse comes to mind) and it's terrific to understand their influences and appreciate the progression of art. But hell, when all is said and done the mid 60's through the mid 70's was FUCKING AMAZING.
