  • Stealing the show was routine for the Who. See Woodstock, Isle of Wight, and even the more recent concert for New York.

  • what a fucking genious song

  • Just keep the camera on Keith the whole time.

  • Wow-absolutely epic. You would think with the passage of time and the death of Keith and John that Mick & Keith would change their view on this program.

  • been watchn this since i was a kid

  • keith moon best drummer ever.

  • Epic!

  • Roger is incredible!

  • John Enwistle rips!

  • MOON IS GOD.

  • Moon is a beast!

  • Rayala, rayala!!

  • Moon isn't playing the drums here. He's LIVING them!

  • i will leave and get atleast one comment pleasing: the who? more like "the good"!! havent heard this song before. that ending was pretty great :D

  • oh my .. love this :)

  • My dad would always sing the "Soon be home" part when he was on long walks with me and my sister as children and we kept complaining about how tired we were :)

  • Greatest live band I ever heard.

  • This version, and the version from Live at Leeds are so incredible. I don't even like the studio version honestly. I heard it after these two.

  • The 'orrible 'oo blows the fucking lid off their own studio track live in one take with no overdubs. This performance hasn't lost its impact one bit since I first heard it 30 years ago. The feedback at 7:05 alone...holy fucking shit.

  • @babamuna66 you summed that up perfectly! every time my missus puts on x factor i wrestle the control out o her hand and put live tunes like this on.

  • 3 says : whats is who?

  • que zarpadooo

  • Superior

  • i forgive the 3 dislikes

  • Forgot how good they were live!

  • favorite video on you tube..bar none.

  • Keith Moon is fucking awesome !

  • holy fucking god - that was fucking awesome !

  • Check mine i made out its got the Tull with Tony Iomi first then this one but my sound is 3 times better..Zorrogash

  • the who fuckin right on top of they're game! the greatest rock band ever

  • i could watch this every day, in fact i do on my kids are alright dvd.

  • 3 kids obviously like jessie j or rhianna

  • This video changed my life.

  • who needs a woodblock, when you can use a floortom...

    typical Keith...

  • absolutely amazing!!!

  • who the hell would dislike this?????

  • @b00giewithstu - Nu Metal fans

  • When they say their prayers at bedtime, most of today's rock bands pray that we would forget all about the Who.

  • @sirreal73x To no effect!

  • cello, cello, cello, cello, cello cello, cello. cello cello cello cello cello cello celloo.. greatness

  • Wicked drumming, we miss you Kieth...

  • Falalalalala lalalalalala:)

  • Then you have to travel, you love your wife, but you have to travel and stay a time away from home!

when you return, your wife tells you that she kissed a few and sat on Ivor´s lap and later with him had a nap?????

    Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch! Forgiven my ass!

  • I love John's singing!!

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! LOLXDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Townshend is beautiful

  • no choreographed moves or preplanned posing, just pure emotion. Impassioned playing and performing.

  • @717mienbao passion! what a word

  • @717mienbao Brilliant aint it!!

  • Keith Moon is beautiful

  • best live performance ever,,tight as a nats chuff as they say in the uk.

  • I kind of forget that there was actually a studio version of this song because this version is the de-facto standard.

  • How can anyone top that?

  • "You're all forgiven!"

    Classic performance!

  • If you watch this movie The Who flat out stole the show. I absolutely love the Stones but it is fact they did not come on until the end and they were too wasted to be sharp. The Who is on fire in this movie - no argument.

  • @peterd1965a Not to mention that the Stones had not toured since 1966 snd the Who had been on the road for awhile. The Who upstaging the Stones was the reason that the Circus was not released until the 1990s, save for the clip of "A Quick One" on "The Kids Are Alright"

  • One of the best live performances you will see anywhere, Phenominal.

  • Damned! They were so good!

  • @guitarslayer17

    This is live!

  • The Stones thought it would be cool to have The Who play before them. Too bad they forgot The Who were the greatest rock and roll act ever. No one could follow their performances.

  • Man that Keith Moon was so awesome. He was the kind of drummer any guitarist would want in his band. Totally into the music, a great performer and very innovative

  • Is the audio/video sync off? It looks like this was pre-recorded and mimed onstage

  • Does anybody know is this is mimed or completely live?

  • Follow that Keefy....no, you couldn't could you

  • cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello, cello,cello....

  • my name is Yvor......

  • It's great that Dudley Moore could help out with the drumming.

  • Best 8 minutes of rock & roll you'll ever see.

  • The Who effectively kicked the Rolling Stones to the curb in their own backyard with this performance, which led to this movie being shelved until 1996.

  • thats why i like the who your all forgivin

  • entwitle is the best bassist ever

  • solo falta un concierto en la ciudad de torreon, coahuila. mexico

  • Some great performances in this concert.

But The Who blew everyone else oot the water in my opinion.

  • "who are ace" damn right!

  • MOON IS GOD!!!

  • MOON IS GOD!!!

  • men pete and moon the best showmans!!

  • Townshend at 1:40 is a little creepy. That scared me cause I wasn't paying attention.

  • Keith Moon is hilarious. He always makes faces during shows and stuff. Great drummer too. This contrasts really well with the others, who were very serious.

  • This may be odd comparison, but thumbs up if you also think that keith moon looks like messi!`lionel messi of barcelona in case you don't know who he is...

  • This performance was at the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. The Stones didn't release their performance because it was terrible BUT released the Who's.That only proves what I've said for a looooong time.....THE STONES AND THE PRECIOUS BEATLES ARE THE 2 MOST OVERRATED BANDS IN HISTORY! Both bands were/are just the adorable darlings of the press while the Who and Led Zeppelin were far and away the best bandsEVER!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!

  • @don62snodgrass asshole do you even know the peroids of all these band and their overlapp.

  • @don62snodgrass I agree but you can't deny the Beatles later albums and the Stones....well the Stones are just a damn good band to listen to when your drinking :)

  • @elhefe112875 Don't even try to admit what He said. Is Like amitting that Mozart is horrible and Beethoven is the God od everything. Get out of here.

  • @RichardMcSundy Maybe if you typed complete sentences I could understand what your trying to tell me. I agree with a part of his statement that The Who stole the show with their performance. Now take your Mozart and Beethoven and stick them where the sun don't shine and piss off!

  • The rock and roll in is essence.

  • Who the fuck is the cunt who hit 'dislike'?!?!? This is THE WHO literally destroying the stage with one of the greatest recorded live performances in history and you dislike?!?!?

    Twat.

  • @brrapper Mick Jagger, probably

  • have you even seen the whole show? the stones killed it.

  • 1 Person is an Idiot

  • @cjf7991 Yes he/she is o.O I am pretty sure, that person is a Justin Bieber fan (they don't know what does music means) !

  • amazing. This is definately one of the best Who performances ever, up there with "My Generation" on Smothers Brothers, "Amazing Journey" at Tanglewood, "See Me, Feel Me" at Woodstock, and "Won't Get Fooled Again" from The Kids Are Alright

  • i DONT THINK THERE IS ANY BETTER BAND TO COME OUT OF THE SICKSTIES THAN THIS ONE, THEY EXPRESS THE IRRATIONAL ANGRY LUNACY OF THE MANIACS ON THE LEFT AND THE CRAZINESS THAT WE ARE STILL SADDLED WITH THAT HAVE MANAGED TO DESTROY THE MORAL FABRIC OF OUR CIVILIZATION VERY WELL... d

  • @SHMUJEW WHY ARE YOU YELLING LIKE AN IRRATIONAL ANGRY LUNATIC?

  • @SHMUJEW Did your girl give your friend a quick one while you've been away?

  • Comment removed

  • 1 person wasn't forgiven

  • this was the best performace of the whole show .it should of been called the whos rock and roll circus .legends and daltreys vocals are second to none best live band ever

  • yeah they are, ever heard of a little band named LED ZEPPELIN

  • AAAMMMAAAZZZIIINNNNGGG!!!!!!!!

  • Ladies and gentlemen....THE WHO, the best rock'n'roll live band ever !

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN ENTWISTLE!!!!!!!! Sucks to have the same birthday as Lennon huh?

  • The Who, The Stones, Zeppelin…Growing up with bands like these and seeing them live in their prime makes me feel part of a special time. Having said that there are incredible bands around today (Muse comes to mind) and it's terrific to understand their influences and appreciate the progression of art. But hell, when all is said and done the mid 60's through the mid 70's was FUCKING AMAZING.

  • thanks guys for make me every day more happy

  • Do you suppose the (1) "dislike' was Jagger?

  • @karlwho1 Had to be...what rock fan looking for YouTube videos could dislike this?

  • @karlwho1 yep i it could be jagger, it was one tough act to folllow.

  • @karlwho1 C'mon man...Jagger invited them there. Love The Who, Love The Stones!

  • que bom que tudo isso voltasse .,;.,;;.,;.

  • This is pure Proto-Punk

  • WHO ARE ACE LIVE 4 SURE!!!

  • Few bands are as good live as in the studio (maybe U2).

  • Moon is God, Townshend is God, Entwistle is God, Daltrey is God and The Who is my religion

  • オフィシャルバージョンではないカメラアングルにしびれた!

  • GREAT BAND

  • every time i watch this it makes me love this band 10 times more

  • Damn right no dislikes

  • 6:36 total madness and rock and roll!

  • 5:15 to 5:34, I see a real fan of the band. He was unique in all ways.

  • @NilSatis1983 yeah having no recording budget something helps :)

  • The Who were, are and will always be the greatest for me - since i was a teenager in my mod-times till now - soooooooooooo awesome! Love them!

Lomng live rock and my vespas!

  • great interpretation!

  • Killer performance!

  • This was such a great show. I don't know why the hell the Stones refused to air it. Yoko Ono's screeching may have been irritating, but all the other performances were brilliant.

  • @MondoBeno I read somewhere that coz the Who were so tight coz they they were always on tour playing live, that it showed the stones' up so they pulled the plug on it. Right shame. No offense to any stones' fans, but i can see what they meant. The 'Orrible 'OO ROCK!!

  • must go & pray.......2 my lord townshend...

  • The Rolling Stones are forgiven.

  • Moon is God

  • Is there any other Who footage (like the alternate cut on "30 Years") of this gig?

  • There are metal bands these days...death metal, thrash metal, speed metal....metal who are not even as close as heavy as The Who....a rock'n'roll juggernaught !

  • cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello ccello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello cello

  • Little girl guide, why don't you stop your crying?

Here comes Ivor the dirty old sooty engine driver to make you feel all right. =P

  • This is brilliant and &%¤ing classic,Totally the most memorable moment from the show..The Stones actually felt bad entering the stage after these guys ! LOL

  • what song is this? i've never heard it before...

  • @CentralBrand "A Quick One While He's Away"

  • THIS IS A FUCKIN CLASSIC!

  • 30 seconds.....sounds like a jet engine starting up......awesome.

  • you are forgiven forgiven,forgiven forgiven,forgiven,forgiven,forgiven lalalala

  • they all look soooo cuteeeee

  • entwistle's falsettos are epic.

  • his guitar sounds so sweet when it first starts playing

  • The real reason why Jagger pulled the show. How the fuck do you follow this!!

  • @dannyK2005

POWER.ENERGY.PRESENCE.NO ONE CAN STAND BESIDE THEM!

  • @hyspeses and brains too

  • @dannyK2005 Pete was the first to start with the Rock Opera. This was the first wit four numbers combined into one. The one to follow was the the master piece TOMMY and the Quadrophenia.

Others would follow with long saga type numbers that spanned usually B sides and full albums like Rush, Yes etc.

  • A song for intelligent people...unlike the bastards who will remove it...Thanks!
