is it normal for a 3 months old silky terrier be 10in long {from neck to tailbase} and 8in high (bottom to shoulder)? im really worried about it, the breeder toldme she was 100% Yorkie but i dont think so, what do you think?
what a cutie...I have a Silky too. He loves his toys and sometimes holds one in his mouth for over 30 minutes...sometimes even falls asleep with one of his many 'stuffed' toys in his mouth...so silly.
A lovely clip about a very cute doggie. As a matter of interest North American Silkies are slightly different in that they have had longer ears bred into them over the years so that they are now fox-like. They also have a much longer coat versus the traditional Australian Silkies which we have over here. Also docking of dog tails is no longer practised in Australia and Britain. Thank you for posting.
a lovely clip about a very cute little doggie, thats true, but just as a matter of interest, the north american silkies have been altered as compared with our silkies in australia. ie. extra long hair, fox-like ears which have become more lateralised when compared with the original. a fantastic gutsy and generally adorable breed. thanks for posting this clip : )
the groomer cut all of my silky, harleys hair off!! if i ever found out anyone was mistreating silkies i would do something major, how can anyone abuse such a great friend? im not that fond of people but silkies are the best....l/p
That was great, really enjoyed it. The blue-silver hair is the most noticable trait of the Silky Terrier. I have a Maltese/Silky Terrier hybrid named Angeline - she has the best traits of both breeds.
Hi there! Great Video. Your Daisy looks just like my Bubbles did! She was my best friend since i was 2 and i got to be with her for 16 wonderful years. She was a silky as well but her ears never stood up. When i was little and we lived in New York i remember when those little balls of snow would get stuck to her hair like that one picture you had, it always looked so goofy! Anyways thanks for the video! I know I'm going to get another silky after college, they're just so great!
I have a silky (Lou Lou) and I adore her, she sleeps with me. They are the best breed ever, so much fun and just so animated. Mine is a very lucky girl as she has a great home life but I think of the ones that are mistreated and it really hurts me. Allana - Australia
I also have a silky terrier, mine unfortunately was mistreated by its previous owner. My father saw the neglect and how horribly it was being treated so he bought the dog from the owner and brought him home. I've had this dog over eight years and I truly can say that they are one of the best breeds. =]
I have a silky too. Her name is also Daisy. However, we fondly call her Crazy Daisy Mississippi! This is my second silky, after the loss of my original silky, named Dixie! They are the best! i plan to post a video soon!
AWWWW! I was thinking about getting a dog of this breed. Would they be alright for a new dog owner?
