    -Da Wize Deciple

  • this was fuckin helpful!!! thanks alot for the tips!!

  • jah kno ute me rate yuh god kno

  • did the same shit with the pop filter then went out and got one for $20... its the same exact shit haha i live in a dorm room so i dont even have a closet to put cup holdres in. but i use a SE reflextion filter really blocks out the harsh sound that bounces off the walls sometimes its a lil flat on the vocals... it also looks fresh as fuck google it

  • you can prolly get a reflexion filter toooo

  • As an ex-NYC kid (who is now 61 and still singing), wise to things budget and less, I applaud your use of common things to solve tech problems. The packing blankets, cup holders, and pop filter are very wise and very frugal. I am going to incorporate some of your ideas in my closet setup. Thanks for the words and pictures.

I really don't know how to record to my PC and still have the same effect ur having.

See all what u did was free, give me a free software, a complete free way too to record vocals to my PC!

I really need this man, ASAP!

  • Thanks man. I got that same pop filter. It may be ghetto, but that shit works. I like mobile stuff though. I'm gonna get some wood, hinge it up, use spray foam and that bed foam. Good soundin room man. The blue light is a nice touch.

I do the same thing with the wire frame pop filter but there are better ways to make a DIY project look sexy. Holla at me my nigga I'll show you photos of my booth

  • @Cknotetmp

    None taken....

But you gotta remember - this is not a done booth

Plus... my goal is all about sound - not look - if my mix don't come out right - its gone be a problem

  • CAPET PADDING! works wonders! the get a couple yard of black fabric and some thumbs tacks...shit looks nice and sounds like magic! these some damn good tips to...tried everyone and they will work, like he said depending on closet size! you need SOME air and SOME re-verb or it sounds like you in a casket!

    Thnx again boy!! 5*s

  • my homies selling 2 mics that are brand new and i wanted to know if there decent.

Audio Technica AT2305 Condenser Mic $80

    samson C01U studio microphone $130

    which one would be better?

    appreciate it.

  • Audio Technica AT2305 Condenser for sure the samson mic is only like 100 brand new bro

  • @petergotSOLE I've got the C01U, it's a condenser, it's quality is perfect, especially with a pop filter.

  • @petergotSOLE the samson is a GREAT mic but NOT for 130 u can go to best buy n pay about 97$ all together tax n all and it is REALLY good at not pick n up other sounds and since its a USB u dnt need phantom power which will save u money =]]

  • im makin a really small soundbooth it sounds really good

  • GUD VIDEO..........N CREATIVE

  • I have a microphone that I want to use to record a conference table conversation with a couple other people. Now when I try to direct record into my PC laptop, it comes out way to low in volume. Will this boost the signal to a much higher level? Is this the same as what phantom power does? I'm recording interviews where I just want to set a condenser mike down on the table about 4feet away, not hold it close to my mouth. Thank you.

  • phantom power is 48V DC going to your condenser microphone that powers the ICA. What your going to need to raise the volume of the mic, is a pre-amp. Either a small console board, or even using an M-audio Fast Track connected to your laptop via USB 2.0

  • yo wut kinda mic iz dat

  • @ddc093

    Audio Technica 4050

  • drink cup holders, thats ghetto as fuck.

  • Great "Dead" room! And I am so glad you brought up the mood light! Most people do not realize how much that mood will affect a vocal track. If you can find a black light that does not hum, they are great with the posters that kinda "Glow" the colors, you can add that in the room too. Just not too many, or you kill the "Dead" sound. When the door is done, if you take a regular sheet, and hang it from those top shelves over you (Like a tarp/fake ceiling) That would be almost coffin dead! 5/5 bro

  • ayo tht pop filter is so fckn creative lmao. word up never would have thought about doin dat

  • @2Tacomeat2 lol thats the best solution

  • @justindakid

Yeah...FREE and it does the same exact thing! lol

  • @whitendumb lol exactly so y pay,but b4 i saw this i thought iwas the only 1 doin this lol

  • can a nigga get some drink holders?

  • ummm i was wondering what if yu have a small closet would the foam n stuff still have the same effect

  • LOL can anyone say HUSTLE N FLOW but i cant knock it couse i did the walmart foam too

    anyways thank for posting

  • Good Tip on everything, just be careful if you smoke around those paper cup holders.

  • you sound exactly like will smith. amazing. anyways, great video, haven't seen anyone with a cheap solution like this, thanks.

  • So if I get a dynamic mic then will i still need a booth??

  • Good video man

  • Hey does it matter if the mic is pointed down or up? you know how traditionally mics are hanging down, but i noticed yours was pointed up. Is it more clarity when its up?

  • It really depends on the Mic actually....

some mics you point upside down just because it prevents the hot tubes from affecting the capsule's performance (because of how heat rises)

  • Yea I know what you mean. I have the SAME mic you have. I had it pointed down, but i think I'm going to try it pointed up.

  • @901NewEra your project sound from your chest, chin, mouth, nose and for head! find the place that sounds best FOR You...also Tilt comes into play! you gotta DEEP voice then your want to point it up and tilt it towards you a lil bit. like i said mess around find what YOU think sounds best!

    PEACE and love!

  • alright thanks man

  • yo fam i got a little studio set up an my room, an i was thinkin about puttin my mic in my closet but its like 2 by 8, an you said something about small closets... you think thats too small

  • You just get a different type of effect in a real "tight" small closet. You lose more of the ambiance on your vocals. (No breathing room - so it sounds suffocated) But just experiment with different rooms - like ya bathroom even

  • good video bruh

  • Nice Video Man!! Never thought about bed foam!! lol

  • I dig this. Real talk. Bmore here.

  • pretty good tutorial bro..I like the video, the tips i like because i was plan on making one in my room sometime
