  • Geeze, did almost everyone come here after Futurama? I really have to start doing different things than everyone else. lol

  • lolol

HAD to see this after watching Futurama!

  • BENDER!!!!!!!

  • "im gonna get 100 kegs, 100 hookers, and 100 Elvis impersonators that aint above a little hookin'"

  • That bass sound is big, ballsy and harsh, I haven't heard many bands from this time that had that type of sound. Most bands from this era used the flat wound soft attack sound, this has a bright attack almost distorted and compressed, not unlike Chris Squire from Yes, or an early rush bass sound.

  • @FoolsChaos That's the Fender IV Six-string bass. I love that sound, too. It's almost too heavy for this kind of music. You'll find that sound in some of the Beatles' White Album songs like 'Helter-skelter' and 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'. Eric Haydock from the Hollies used one of those, too.

  • YES! found it futurama 100th episode : )

  • British zorbas i guess? me gusta.

  • I love how in the sixties songs about sex and drugs were so incognito!

  • Better these days now people can see the joke. Pity the Yanks didn't. Gilbert and George did!

  • haha gilbert and george!!

  • @KaseyK88 Surely you just searched "bend it" lol

  • One of those odd songs I remember from my early years

  • what a rude song! :)

  • Nearly impossible to dance to, back then ,youth were more crazy than today.

  • hop hop sirtacus

  • My biggest regret is that I was not aware of DDDBMT until I saw Deathproof. These guys are excellent and I do not know how I missed this group! They should have been a lot more famous.

  • GREAT!!!!

  • agree 100%

    Waldemar

  • I was only 7 or 8 when this was on the radio and thought it was such a funny song, of course I was only a little girl...Then we had it at a school social in primary school still thought it was funny but then as I got older loved it even more..I wonder if you could play Twister to it, now that would be different. I am glad I found this :)

  • love this for years

  • The little pause is hilarious! The British do innuendo with such precision!

  • Waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy COOL ! ............"Please dont tease me" dig the greek vibes

  • saw these guys in the 60s - Dave Dee split his pants on stage !

  • Surprising me. I think I have never hear this !

  • most songs get a rythem and a time scale and stick to it, this song breaks those rules and its great!

  • One of the most versatile pop groups of all time. All their hits were so different!

  • frecher text, hab ihn damals nicht verstanden,hmm.....

  • Love her shoes! 01:07

  • Use to hate playing this song, once you got me up to 55mph, then you wanted to shut me down. what the hell..lol...Dave.....Moonie Says Hey...

  • NOW I understand why mum and dad didn't like me singing this all day long when I was 6 years old lololol

  • I noticed you only put 'Dave Dee, Dozy...' in the title. Did you forget there name or just lazy?

  • Fritz dozed off.....btw, Beaky(the blond one) is nowhere to be seen in this clip.

maybe that's what confused Fritz ;]

    oh whell.....what's the huzzle.

  • leave it to the Brits to come up with this great song .. so original and so suggestive! its a typical 60s' British Invasion sound !!!this was one of the best groups from that time !!! thank you for posting .... and rip Dave Dee..xxx... lyndloo

  • Very unique tune. A change in pace at the time i'm sure.

  • Such a brilliant, sexy and original song in the sixties. Still is.

  • zorba la greek theme

  • Great and original song in its own right, but certainly inspired by Greek sirtaki music which was just becoming known in the sixties as a result of growing tourism to Greece and the Zorba film.

  • ich habe ne frage an dich hast du auch das lied mit der peitsche aus den jahren 1968 weiss nicht wer es gesungen hat bin aber sehr neugierig wer es gesungen hat. und hätte gern das lied allesausliebem27

  • du meinst sicher Dave Dee,Dozy,Beaky,Mick & Titch - Legend Of Xanadu

    lg Eddy

  • great great song! I love this band!

  • Great song!

Good looking brunette especially at 2:08.

That little dark hair girl ROCKS OUT at 2:12 & the very end. She's too funny.

  • It was by accident that I came across this song ! I recently saw 'Death Proof' which has their song 'Hold Tight', which I thought was cool, but this song's even cooler! Would've NEVER heard it on the radio cos classic rock stations only play the same overplayed stuff.

  • lol i waz born 1994 n i love this song i dunno wat ma dads dun 2 me

  • i don't know either. try using the audio preview next time.

  • I`m so in love with the 60`s..

It`s really sad that I`m born only in 1989 =(

Dave Dee has a lot of great songs..

My favourite is "Legend Of Xanadu" though.. RIP <3

  • classic!

  • In 1966 it was a very original thing to combine a rock group and Cretan sirtaki. And it's a fantastic tune in its own right.

  • I left out the them, dang it.

  • I like better than the Beatles also. They have some great songs on their albums. I wish they would have been more popular in the States. No good groups like this anymore.

  • bend it, BEND IT!! DDMB&T FOREVER!!!

  • Greater than the Beatles

  • @aeroidus You're retarded

  • Great sing along song when you are drunk :P

  • My favourite 1960s song. Dave Dee you will be so missed xx

  • Saw the band in New Zealand in 1983 on a best of British Tour. Great fun R.I.P. Dave.

    R.I.P +

  • R.I.P. Dave. Thanks for all the good times.

  • Dave Dee ist heute im Alter von 65 Jahren an einer Krebserkrankung gestorben.

  • Couldn't have put it better myself

  • special k ad :):):)

  • Tune and a half.

  • I'm not too fond of Dave Dee but this is a fucking tune! Plus same goes for Hold Tight.

  • I always preferred Zabadak and Legend...., but it's all good

  • Its a great oldie

    I LOVE IT!!!

  • How cool sound !! I love them .

  • Gotta LOVE that irresistible Greek influence to this timeless classic! :)

  • great song written by my close friends ken howard & alan blackley.

  • BLAIKLEY, not blackley

  • ok smart ass. i,m dislectic.didnt have school like some.i shell re-spell it mr alan blaikley i,m sure he want mine me spellingit wrong seeing as i know him..

  • who cares about spelling? seen some of your music clips and you have a great voice

  • thanks 4 the comment,:)nigegt.

  • You are a real Dave Dee group's fan ,aren't you ?

  • this is a classic !! love it !thanx for a great vid !!60s were the best!!

  • oh no ive bent it

  • hehe.. i´m merely twenty... but this is so great !

  • I always loved this song & it's rather unique (for rock & roll) sound--parts of it put me in mind of the music for those Greek line dances, such as from "Zorba The Greek."

But I guess we must have had a different version of this in the States, as I am positive I remember a lyric I don't see here--toward the end of the song--"when life's ending, we'll be bending."

  • I know it was on a 7", 45 rpm single, so not an album or EP cut. And it was a light blue, Fontana label.

Any helpful info. on this discrepancy? I'd like to have all versions of it, if possible in .mp3 or .wav formats, if not on CD.

Another favorite, "odd" pop song was "Little Arrows" by Leapy Lee.

  • Apparently they were forced to record a tamer version for the US market as the Brit lyrics were considered too suggestive.

  • The version in this video IS the tame US version. The first line of the "dirty" version is

    Bend it, Bend it,

    Show me you can move

And do the dance that's really in the groove

  • Oh yeah?!!! Apparently when they recorded the clean version for the US Dave also did a REALLY obscene version which he left for the record company boss to find on his desk the next morning.

  • Knowing Dave and the band they must really have hated doing the cleaned-up version of a song which is so essentially erotic and so true to their approach to things.

  • Funny how things change as time goes by, the evolution of everything

  • You're thinking of another song.

  • That is brilliant !! I love this !! Thanks !!

  • Bend it Baby, Bend it!!! Pure CLASS!!! ( and i'm 23.)

  • Always loved this song. Its fantastic.

  • Very little known band...very overtly sexual song.

  • Actually in their native Britain and throughout Europe they were a very well known and successful group.

Try out a few more of their songs, you will probably also like those also.

  • Yeah, there music is pretty good. I meant they weren't known in the US.

  • Classic!

  • Sawe them way back tehn as a kid - Dave Dee split his pants on stage

    Good old days

  • SVEET! I love how it starts out slow, then gets faster, and then slows down again, etc. GREAT SONG!!!

  • Great!! Thanks for posting!
