i've been playing for 9 years and experimented with different kinds of sticks. and i also would say to use vater/vic firth "5A"'s. 2B's are too big for a beginner (or even advanced drummers in my opinion). Hope this helps. good luck and have fun!!!!!!
actually as u can see from their replys..prefered sticks change with each player. I personaly use pro mark 747 rocks. but it is all bout what is comfortable with you and wut feels the best to you personally. starting out i recommend you just experiment with different sizes til you find one you really feel good using.
A heavy stick would be good for you to bulid up speed and strength in your wrists. When you switch over to a lighter stick, I too like the Firth 7an,you will be a lot stronger and faster.
hah, yea i figured that out by now but i used to play with very heavy sticks and then switched to very light sticks and my speed abilities pretty much doubled
No 2b are good for staring off it will give you better tecknik and later on use a smaller stick and youll find because it's not a heavy youl play better
wat tpye and size sticks do u use i use a vic firth 7a does the size i use affect my play?? i do know tht does sound like a double entendre but seriously.
you'll get a much louder nosie with a bigger stick and they rebound better. i used 7a then 5a now use 3b.. i love them soooo much better. just buy a few different pairs see what you like.. amd it depends on how strong your wrists are to
i think drums are hot!
but its harder than i thought:-(
