  • Hindemith is an absolute genius composer, and a passionate advocate for viola. Unfortunately, I must say that his playing doesn't stand up to the high standard of his his composition. But still, it's important to hear how a composer wants a piece to be performed.

  • Beautiful.... listen to the slides Mr Hindemith uses freely. Also note the tempo as he had in mind. Also the occasional glitch ;).

    An extremely important recording for any player studying this piece.
