  • 1:42 woow!!! GREAT VIDEO¡

  • I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A HERNIA. SUGGESTIONS? I am UNDER DRs CARE?

  • ive been doing a lot of research on plyometrics and i was wondering how would doing plyometrics help me as a martial artist and what exercises would b good to practice to get some results i want such as fast kicks and quick but powerful thrust punches

  • NO... Quickness & Speed are NOT genetic!

Get training... tiny url.co m/Quick ness-Training (remove spaces)

  • Another great video yall!!! Very informative and educational! MUCH APPRECIATED!! PEACE!

  • Hey Arash, in track I do high jump, long jump, and hurdles. Any specific exercises I can do to improve speed, endurance and jump distance/height? Thanks bro.

  • im glad i subscribed in 2011 cause my 2012 workouts i want to add plyo cause im a small guy roughly 5'3-4 and im big bone and i have huge calves and i do basketball so this is very informative and helpful plus i have a goal at my job to touch est 10'4 brick near the ceiling by the end of the summer! lets get it!

  • Not a criticism just a suggestion, you should have broken down the origin of the word from whatever it's greek or latin roots translate into, early in the video. It would have added to the professional feeling of the video.

  • Arash, do you think it would work to incorporate strength training with plyometrics in the same workout? I know for one of the HIIT routines, it involves a set of lifting followed by a high intensity drill as the resting time for your muscles. Instead, how would you recommend incorporating plyometrics within that rest time? I'm mostly asking because I'm not familiar with a lot of plyometric exercises! For example, what would you do after, let's see, doing pullups or benching?

  • is it okay if i just wear ankle weights when i run? and its not heavy like 1-2 lbs

  • YEAAAHHHH PLYOMETRICS!

    Thank you Arash. =)

  • thx man. ur awesome

  • hey Arash, I am confused as to if I should incorporate weight training and exercises and plyos in the same workouts or if i should do like one lower body leg workout and plyo workout once a week separately. Should i go heavy on weights? Can you post a video on how to build a program including ploys and weights or help me out? Thanks man

  • science says u should be able to squat your body weight before you attempt lower body plyos. it used to be 2 x your body weight. i agree somewhat with being able to squat your body weight in a 1rm.i feel that if you can even do a percentage of your body weight but with more reps thats acceptable too. But its essential that you do squats before trying plyos.

  • Can you make a video on excercises and information about endurance and how to increase endurance? Many times in Phs Ed when we are running the track I get left behind because I have to keep a very slow pace or I'll get tired quick. I also want to do track this spring and soccer this fall so it would help me alot if you can make a video soon on endurance.

  • I've really been looking forward to this. Thanks so much Arash! :)

  • that's pretty good...i did the hurdle workout yesterday

  • what about putting the ankle weights in your bag? and walk around with them all day.

  • I am looking forward to this, I dont want be a bulky muscular guy who can barely run and jump. I want to be able to move and jump like a ninja but at the same time have good muscle mass.

  • Hey are you going to upload and freerunning or parkour videos?

  • can u do some exercises on how to improve acceleration speed?

  • Hey Arash!

I think I have quite strong legs , but they are not explosive nor do I have much endurance. I am having trouble jogging for 30 minutes straight. Do you think I should build up to that level of endurance or start plyometrics right away?

    Thanks in advance

  • will this help me on bboying? like doing flares, windmills or jackhammers.

  • I can't wait to do this! But I sprained my ankle yesterday:( couch time sucks.

  • When the video started I couldn't wait to just absorb your information :O

  • @strengthproject hey arash just wondering what plyometrics would help in soccer and rugby because you want to hit hard and at the same time be a quick athlete

  • @crazydude669

Then you'd want to practice both lower body and upper body plyometrics. A great amount of force is generated through your lower body, so I'd still advise focusing more on lower body. You want to be proportionate I am assuming, so make sure you balance the upper and lower body.

  • yes is it good for parkour and free running?

  • never thought about upper body plyometrics for lower body explosiveness. But just saw comments are for uploader approval. Do not approve my comment cause I do not approve of anyone censoring comments. Even the bad comments you learn more about human nature

  • @TheEricleeparker

The body works together when doing dynamic movements. As explained in the video, arm block is essential to jumping, and arm movement in sprinting. Its not a matter of censorship but rather keeping spam reduced. There was one user who created several accounts to leave the same foul comment page after page. The block solution wouldn't work because he kept creating accounts. You are right, "bad comments" play in important role to look at the other side, I approve those.

  • @strengthproject I understand and agree

  • I just recovered from a injury. Would you suggest starting slow, and if so then how slow?

  • Can't wait!!!!!!

  • Ehm, don't go Plyos hard on your CNS? For example if you already DL and then randomly throw in like 3 times Squat Jumps with weight or some shit wouldn't that exhaust you like a motherfucker in no time? At least Frank Yang advices to only do Plyo 2 times a week when you combine it with lifting...

  • @IPrayingMantisI

I would do plyometrics no more then 3 times a week. An experienced athlete can lift 4-5 times a week, and do plyometrics 2-3 times a week.

  • I know ppl usually don't but i love these videos xD i love all your work and really appreciate it :)

  • Arash, what you and the rest do here at Stregth Project is just unbelievable. All of this information and fantastic tutorials, all FOR FREE.

Words can't describe how great and big you are.

A simple "thank you" from me is degrading.

  • @mazaisvilijis - Who watches Youtube videos with their sister?

  • if you guys have any questions, please comment here and or on facebook

  • @strengthproject

don't date plyo workouts way back in history? I am pretty sure that some chinese monks had a whole workout consisting of pretty much only plyo exercises (can't find the source right now but please get back to me on that anyways ;))...

  • @IPrayingMantisI

You are very correct. Many different exercise arts such as plyometrics have been practiced in the past. It was introduced to the modern world of athletics by professor Yuri. Plyometrics and many other workouts might have been practiced in the past under a different term, or they've gone a long time without being practiced. All credit should not go to Yuri, as plyometrics is evolving and new components are being added regularly. However, Yuri does deserve credit.
