  • My parents were fans of Eddy Arnold,

    I grew up with country.

This gentleman was one of the best!

He left a great legacy, his great singing!

Thank you Eddie, you are in Heaven singing!

    *****stars and thumbs up

  • My dad was a big fan of Eddy Arnold and the songs he sung. My dad passed away Dec. 18th, 2011 listening to Eddy Arnold's music playing in the back ground. I too enjoy Eddy Arnold's music, so today is a tribute to my dad and his favorite artist. I'm listening dad and hope you are hearing him sing to you up in heaven. I love you and miss you so much daddy!!! RIP

  • I am an Eddy Arnold fan forever. Dear Lord thank you for Eddy Arnold.

  • SO BEAUTIFUL AND YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ALL THE WORDS. SO SAD THAT YOUNG PEOPLE DON'T HAVE THE GREAT SINGERS LIKE YEARS AGO.

  • Ah, yes... Eddy... I have three of his albums that used to belong to my parents... I grew up with his music and loved it... still do or I wouldn't still have (and still play) those albums!

  • This is one I grew up with. My parents had good taste, no?

  • gta

  • 12 tone deaf people don't like this beautiful perfomance of a timeless song.

  • What year is this?

  • @flix2view Last I looked, 2011.

  • @Alikah1 Oh you are so funny.

  • Would give anything for a slow dance to this song with the man I love in Texas...

  • God, please bring Eddy and Minnie back, we will trade you for Lady Gaga and any rapper of your choice.

  • @ckwonpoker im with you...

  • @ckwonpoker We will trade 100 rappers for them both and toss in Lady Ga Ga for free.

  • God, please bring Eddy and Minnie back, we will trade you for Lady Gaga and any rapper of your choice.

  • Brings a tear to my eye to see and hear him performing this song. My Dad was a big fan, and I have Eddy Arnold's greatest hits burned into my memory from an album he used to play all the time. (On a record player that was hidden inside the mantle of our fake fireplace!) Whether you like this music or not, it sure does represent a different time. My father was a bartender most of his life, back when tending bar was an art form. And this song brings back that whole era. (Sniff...)

  • Soap, guimauve....Bof ...Basta !

  • 11 people do not understand country music. Eddie Arnold is a pillar in country music history. Oh I am so sorry to hear that he passed away. May he attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana.

  • @hoth260 make episodes I II &III go away

  • My Mom passed last April. I remember her playing this song on our stereo when I was a kid. Love & Miss you Mom. God Bless Eddy Arnold. Sing this to Mom for me in heaven!

  • This man had class. I can't believe that there are 11 people who do not like this.

  • This man had class.

  • Oh what a beautiful voice and song,

  • Thanks for the "way back machine" . Pushing 50 now and loved this tune since I was a kid. : ^ )

  • Missing my dad who loved this music.

  • @hoth260 thats funny.

  • @hoth260 Please don't ruin such lovely music with your petty political problems.

  • Beautiful

Beautiful Memories......Say the things you used to say......AW......Teardrop....

  • I'm 19. My generation is lost in the meaning of music. We need more of this. Taylor Swift is the closest to something like this.

  • @brunetteDUH your joking about taylor swift right?

  • @DrOlliefish No I am not. Taylor writes songs about real life. She writes it with passion and meaning. Jeezus please stop with the hater comments.

  • @brunetteDUH Taylor Swift doesn't even come close to eddie arnold

  • @hiddenrocker11 I'm not comparing her to Eddie Arnold you twat. Stop trollin'.

  • @brunetteDUH

    Wrong answer, try again.

    Taylor Swift? Really!

  • R.I.P. Eddie. They just don't make such artist anymore.

  • Fabulous song extraordinary voice!! LOVE IT!

  • He was my mom's fav when I was a kid. I remember going with her to a meet and greet at a nearby store where he was appearing (late 60's early 70's?) and she became disappointed because he didn't seem that nice and friendly, etc. I'm not saying he wasn't a nice person, it's just that day anyway he was cold and aloof and I remember feeling very sorry for her. I was just a small child. I think he was her hearthrob at that time....so I understand how it must have made her feel. Great voice though.

  • take heart he might have just been having a bad day. they're human too. at least she had his years of music to comfort her...that's what does it for me. I've listened to him since i was five (36 now) and I will always love him. have a great day.

  • @ladybluluv Ladyblu, I had the same experience at about the same time! Eddy, one of my top favorites, came to a Sears Roebuck store in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The store was jammed. We waited and waited. He came out...and wouldn't sing. He said they hadn't paid him enough for that. I did get his autograph and handshake though. He was "cold" but I got to meet him. THEECKS

  • @DADSMUSIC69 Yeah, we met him too and she got an autograph. This was in LI NY. Just wish it would have been a more pleasant experience for her. Oh well, what can you do? Maybe it wasn't a good time for him or something.

  • Ohhhh... back when men were gentlemen and people had manners. :-) I wish those values were here today. What a great song. Sappy, but GREAT!

  • @vespertinne Those values will always be with us. It's just that we notice bad manners and good manners are taken for granted and not noticed. It's like noticing a black dot on a pure white shirt. You wouldn't notice the shirt if it were clean.

  • @vespertinne Exactly...give me sappy any day!

  • I can't find one of Eddy's songs from 1978 called "If everyone had had someone like you"

  • Great & Super

  • This was one of my late grandads songs before he past away. Tanked up in a pub but nevertheless; This one's for John Arthur Outten, one for the legend I say! T'rah coc'

  • Ed is great!! one of the best country singers of all times!!

  • this is country music not that stuff thats on today.... country gentleman

  • my dad and gpa can sing ths song it pretty kewl but idk y it on my fav I DID NOT PUT IT THERE!!!!!!

  • A great baritone like Jim Reeves! They have left a legasy for country music.

  • My dad always sang this song. When we were kids we goofed on my dad when he listened to Eddie Arnold. My dad has been gone for a while now and we miss him and the music he listened to. Listening to Eddie Arnold brings back great memories of my dad. Eddie was one of the greats who will be missed.

  • my dad sung this all the time now hes gone and so has eddie i miss them both in my heart forever

  • is he still alive , love this song, but wow he looked old there even.

  • No. He passed away at May 8, 2008 (aged 89)., week before next birthday. RIP

  • This is one of my favorite karoke songs to sing. He was an incredible singer,

  • Such meaning.

  • he inspired me to sing.. check out gypwin

  • Such a Beautiful, smooth voice, always loved Eddy, grew up on him, Patsy, Elvis, Connie Francis, 50's, my parents music. Am now 44, STILL love it... THIS is Pure country music at its Best. I always liked Eddy's personality as well, seemed like a heck of a Nice guy...

we miss you Eddy, rest in Peace...

  • thank you for posting this

  • A great singer and a southern jentlemen. I know I will miss him.

  • Never heard of a "jentlemen"?

  • I love his old vinyl. some of the arrangements are a hoot. and the players are great. studio product for days and he must have cringed at some of them. But he had a real and natural feeling for a song, and some of them are great, like this one.

  • Search for Eddy Arnold on GrooveSafari (dot) com

  • please tell me that you love me, and make the world go away

  • its a great song.

  • Remember corporate America has it's agenda, "profits", it is more intrusive than you realize,.... even in Nashville

  • The most amazing voice - such real talent. No wonder Elvis admired him so much.

  • This man should have been #1 or 2 instead of 20th. Travis Trett or what ever his name is was in the top ten because he has a nice ass. Give me a break!

  • AMEN! It is great that we have YouTube and the like sowe can listen to the real talent such as the great Eddy Arnold, Ray Price, Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves.

They all sure didn't need fireworks, and junk to make a show great - because they all had talent. I am sure that there are some new young folks that have talent; however most of the junk today is, fast fake and fizzled out tomorrow kids, that lack substance.

  • This is a time gone by,and will never be seen again .

  • @shedhouserob The "Tennesee Plow Boy" is in my top 4 with Johnny Cash, Hag, and Marty Robbins (in no particular order). Eddie Arnold's voice is as smooth as silk and never gets old. Ever time I hear him sing I want to dance.

  • this is such an amazing song and such a classic!!!! i love it so much

  • To put it simply Eddy Arnold is a supreme entertainer. A country great who mastered the simplicity and sincerity that country music is famous for, Easy listening at its absolute finest.

  • He still sounds good, after all these years.

  • Comment removed

  • such an easy voice to listen to

  • He was good!

  • He is still good, but his original recording when he was young was his best.

  • This was back when country was real music, with meaning and feelings. RIP Eddy.

  • I love this song

  • This should definalty be a fallout 3 song!

  • im related to this guy.. no joke either lol he was my great annts son

  • classic! eddie was my first crush! i was only about seven! rest in peace!

  • This is the great Eddy Arnold deivering one of this great hits of the 60's . You can see that he was sick and still he gave his best. This is "real country music", not the bullshit that passes for that type of music today like Garth Brooks etc. God bless you Eddy and we'll see you in "Hillbilly Heaven".

  • this was a great classic song!!

  • rest with God mr arnold! you will be missed

  • Rest in Peace Eddy.

    You will be missed!!!!

  • Eddie, we will miss you. You are certainly one of a kind. My God Bless your soul, our prayers go to your family

  • He is going to be missed

  • God Bless Eddy Arnold!

  • i agree

  • They just invited Carrie on to the grand ol Opry. She has yet to earned this gift.

  • Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are singing a tribute for him at the ACM's tomorrow night on the ACMs, it should be great!

  • I missed it!!!! Was it great? I looked for it on YouTube (1 hour after the show ended). It hasn't made it here...YET! Carrie is cool and so is Brad!

  • It was the BEST performance of the night.

  • Great post, RIP Eddy you will be missed dearly. -BCOR Radio

  • I love this song by Eddie Arnold!! I wish I could make the world go away!!

  • OMG! Take that back! ;) My friend and I used to sing this song like this; "make the world go away...........and give me your welfare check." lol

  • Tasteless attempt at humor. Totally inappropriate.

  • Against my better judgment -- because it may only feed your need for attention -- I have to respond to one more stupid, ignorant, immature comment on your part. You're 45 YEARS OLD?! Grow up and get a life....

  • One of God's Pleasures for the human race! Eddy

  • From the time I was a small girl we listened to Eddy. He was a true southern gentlman and was quoted as saying " I am no better than the fans I sing for " " I am better for having them " Not a redneck statment but a really wonderful human being. Any one slandering him is slandering there selves. He's with his beloved Sally now. RIP Eddy.

  • Thanks for a great post. Eddy's secret was his sincerity, humility and kindness. A man's character shows in his face -- and in his voice as well.

  • Why? Because you say so? "This woman" happens to be famous country comedienne Minnie Pearl (real hame Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon). Mrs. Cannon was influential in Nashville society and a philanthropist. Nobody says you have to like country music. Nobody says you have to post here either.

  • grou up redneck kindness, but only in your dreams you are kind

  • You'd do well to live up to your user name. I don't see either kindness or honor in your comment. Eddy was no redneck. Eddy was the consumate gentleman. You obviously aren't.

  • eddy isn't really gone. he's been recorded and will be enjoyed for years to come. the future looks brighter because eddy's in it.

  • One of the true country legends will be missed wholeheartedly-Rip Eddy!+

  • they said Eddy was worth more than 40 million! not bad for a country plowboy Farewell Eddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for this great live performance. What a gentleman Eddy was. There will never be another Eddy Arnold. An extraordinary God-given talent and a rare man. Thanks, Eddy, for all you've meant to so many of us for so many, many years. We've all lost a friend, and the world is a little sadder, a little poorer for your loss. Rest in peace.

  • the first time i heard this song was from the GTA San Andreas station... great song :)

  • The fond soundtrack of my childhood.

    RIP Eddy Arnold

  • He was the #1 singer when I was a boy. First in "Hillbilly" music and then in Countrypolitan, which he invented. A true gentleman. Thank you for all the great moments Eddy. I'll be joining you one of these days in the not too distant future.

  • Good point about the two distinct phases of Eddy's career. He reached the pinnacle of his career in the years
