  • In the middle off all the jokes I'd like to point out that this is both terrifying and kind of beautiful.

  • oh crap! i just relized im in 2012!!!!!

  • Pull up the pic of the whole Earth of Google Earth, then take a good look at the Pacific, paying attention to the rim all the way around it. You'll see this already happened, and it appears as though Earth lost a sizable chunk of crust a long, long time ago. This wound is likely the cause for plate tectonics on this planet (crust splitting and moving to "heal" the wound).

  • im moving to mars

  • @kitcat131

whats the guarantee that it will not happen at Mars

  • heres the moon O heres the earth 0 this is the blow up part O---------0 thats where CoD black ops zombies thought of you blowing up the earth on the map MOON!

  • When that happens ill wait to hear "Yet again,Goku has saved us from this giant meteor by using his Kamehameha wave !"

  • @MonsterArrow

Vegeta destroyed meteors to become super sayian. I put money on the prince.

  • anyone for a day out to the mood?

  • Grand Reset.

  • I don't want to die like that.

  • it looks like a pie :d :d

  • aww man right in china too

  • 3:21

Earth: I got the hot sauce!

    3:48

Earth: OH GOD WHY?! IT BURNS!

  • this is supose to happen this sunday!

  • ohhh great, we're fucked

  • This could not have happen once let alone 6 times, because it would have killed out all seeds of both plants and animals and also knocked us out of orbit,as well as evaporated all water (according to them which all seeds both plant and animals would have needed to live)

  • @elainepul Not exactly. If this happened, say, when the Earth was forming, it would most likely have helped formed the crust. And there's the possibility that the Moon was formed by a large asteroid hitting the newly formed Earth and knocking out a large chunk of it.

  • @elainepul maybe but bacteria lives on. check out the full documentary Miracle Planet, If I remember correctly its 8 parts.

  • @elainepul The Earth began as a molten ball with no water or life. This very well could have happened 6 times before life began.

  • MOMMY!

  • this thing happened 6 times, i wonder if there were humans back then and what did they look like? how did they live? where they much advanced than us? did they believe in religion? i wanna know this things! :((

  • @b3qAa I doubt there was much complex life.

  • GOOD THING IT GOT THAT PESKY MIDDLE EAST

  • I HOPE THIS SHIT HAPPENS

  • AHHHHHH THE DEATH STAR

  • It is a future version of appocalypce

  • at least we'd finally be rid of Justin bieber , I'M SO SORRY , couldn't help myself :)

  • at least we'd finally be rid of Justin bieber , I'M SO SORRY , couldn't help myself :)

  • sounds like a random vulcan (they all pretty much sound the same) is narrating this maybe sarek

  • 3:36 ... pie

  • Don't worry Bruce Willis will save us :D

  • @19189073 Actually only living things that live on it were pwned. Earth is ok, only a minor beauty problem.

PS: I like the way earth looks like at the end

  • @7DeMoN7 you call that minor excuse me while i laugh my ass off

  • Ni un planeta chocaría conla tierra pesa mucho.

  • I really respect scientist, but please don't waste your time to show us how we will die. We don't care. Show us how to make something that asteroid would not hit the earth. That`s what we care.

  • @Sanjar10A7777 you must know your enemy before you attack him

  • Chuck Norris is up to fuck all.

  • ooh laver

  • Terraform Mars ? If it can happen on Earth, it can happen on Mars too...We'd rather think of means to protect our planet from such disasters.

  • Comment removed

  • @apknox

Ummm just like "god" didnt allow the recent earthquakes or tsunamis in Japan, THailand tsunami, Freewill bla bla bla 9/11 but "god" could have prevented the plane from taking off right, or causing them to get sick with his army of viruses, bacteria, etc, oh the Bubonic plague that killed millions, the flu that kills millions each year, asteroids...several of which skimmed the atmosphere causing fear and to the point he almost seems to be toying with us..be for real..santa can do better

  • this is why we need to terraform mars

  • well at least we'd all die instantly......right? ^_^;

  • @BURNINATOR8 Well...depends on where you are. If the Brazilian rain forest spontaneously combusts before the rock vapor gets there, that means that the surrounding temperature has risen to over 450 degrees F. Eventually, we'd all die from it, but it might be pretty uncomfortable for a lot of us before we're unconscious.

    Have a nice day. :-)

  • @BURNINATOR8 Your clothing and and hair would combust instantly and you would experience a few moments of being burned alive before the carbon in your body begins to ignite destroying your nerve system and external sensory organs like the eyes. Your last moments are spent in a complete painless numb but you are still consciously aware you are being vaporized on the molecular level. Whether it be an asteroid or nuclear weapon it is better to get hit directly and have death come quick.

  • Woot! We're Fucked! <=D

  • scary!

  • sobrebibiremos

  • What a shame.

    1. Why this planetoid is hot?

    2. Planetoid to be spherical need to be at least 300km in diameter.

    3. The closest planetoid which is spherical i Ceres but it's about 900km in diameter.

    4. 300km or above is too big to move on irregular orbit. So it can't cross the Earth orbit.

Don't do anything if your knowledge is a bullshit.

  • @MaxPolej

    2. At the start it is stated the object is 500 kilometers across, thus meeting your criteria.

    3. It is not Ceres, it is a hypothetical object.

    4. It is a hypothetical object hitting the earth, so whether it is possible or not to cross the orbit of the earth, is irrelevant. That's why it is Hypothetical!

  • @MaxPolej Take your own advise to not do anything if your knowledge is bullshit.

    1. The planetoid isn't hot, the heat to melt/burn/vaporise everything comes from the impact itself even if not all the kinetic energy is transformed into heat, it's still massive. Energy released = Half of 4/3*r*pi * density (average density rocky object is 3 g/cm3 so = 1.9 * 10power17 kg) * speed per second squared (400000000) which equals 3.9 *10power25 J) or 520 million Hiroshima Bombs.

  • @ForgottenPhlebotinum Wow... to put that in perspective, imagine, 1 Hiroshima Bomb, 520 million times...

  • @renandstimpyfreak672 still not enough^^ The Chunk that killed the Dinos is said to have had some 80Million Times the Blast of a nuke.

  • @MaxPolej

    1. Who cares, maybe had a collision on its own recently.

    2. Source? Also the one Illustrated is 500km across.

    3. And?

    4. Nonsense. Why should it matter? Also, These Lumps flew around chaoticly in the early Solar System. Most got eaten up by Colissions very early.

  • Japan: "This is fucking bullshit! Fuck yoooooooargh!"

  • Thumb nail looks like a pie.

  • this shit is fuck scary

  • how does life start again if this really did happen

  • @EminemDirtyDozen life in general, not only human life but every life you can possibly think of, has a way of starting in the most extreme eviroments..

  • this is the end of world 2036, thats when 99942 Apophis hits earth..

  • @ozytheoz

Apophis is the size of a large football stadium, not 500 km...

  • @AlexandruUrsachi is that large enough to destroy or at least kill every living thing on the planet?

  • @gmodrules123456789

Of course not, if it falls into the ocean it will cause a pretty big tsunami, if it falls on land, it will destroy a sizeable area, but the damage will only be regional, not global.

  • @ozytheoz Surely not.

  • That is more like planet collision, and they all showin apophis big like it is moon!

It is only 270m but great damage may couse!

  • Featured on TV Tropes! =D

  • ох уж эти сказочники!!!

  • Love the narrator's voice-sounds familiar.

  • Well I'd be off to japan rather get insta vaporized then wait 3 hours for some wall of fire.

  • @furydeath Fuck that, you just find yourself landsurfing into the inferno. No no no, I'm tracking that baby and plan to be smack dab underneath it when it hits.

(With an umbrella open just for laughs)

  • @SCE2AUX lmfao....screw you, you just gave me the laugh I needed for the rest of the day.

  • death star background @ 0:20

  • Surely an asteroid that big would knock the Earth of its course around the sun?

  • @ChrisGS1982 I think only when it Hits-Bullseye. Otherwise most Energy would be rotational Momentum...so the Days would be of diffrent length then before.

  • did someone die?

  • WHY DOES EVERYONE TALK ABOUT CHUCK NORRIS ON ALOT OF DISASTER VIDEOS?!

  • @jb200930

IT'S THAT GODDAMNED MEME, THAT'S WHY.

Also. FALCON PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCHES. 2 ofhtem ocl, liding can cause this.

  • 3:30 this actually looks like a yummy meal :O

  • 2:26 Poor Japan

  • @Coree154 poor mario and sonic :_(

  • Holy fucking shit. There would be nothing left but the raw material of the planet...Now let's see a video of the planet recovering, stabilizing, and forming new life.

  • @JavaJaxRex that would be almost impossible to make, as no1 knows how life was originated. and if all life died how can there be more, if no1 knows how it originated. (im not talking about god so religion cant be a way it originated)

  • This certainly won't happen in our lifetimes. I mean, if something that big was hurling towards us, we'd see it clearly with the naked eye, even during the day. There's nothing hurling this way right now, that's for sure. Well, nothing like this anyway.

  • @ryhorn100 Deffinitely :D

  • well lets see YOUR super awesome simulation then >:\

  • Really not a very accurate interpretation. For one thing, it shows buildings still standing. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. The groundshock from the impact would level everything. There would also be massive volcanic events worldwide, triggered by the impact.

The effect of a 500Km asteroid would be much more drastic, and most definitely wouldn't leave a crater, as it would liquefy the majority of the planets crust.

The 6 impacts they talk about are from much smaller impacts in the 5-10Km range.

  • @gchampi2 i'm not sure, you can correct me ofc, but wasn't the asteroid 40km's wide that wiped out the dinosaurs? :S

  • @woldemort78 The current estimates of the impactor at Chuxulub put it in the range of 10Km, leaving a crater of 180Km+ diameter.

  • Just in case you were looking for something else to make you feel small and helpless...

  • Why does it have lava on it...?

  • Would we still die if we lived in bunkers underground? On the other side of the world to the impact?

  • @SubtitledPig yes the heat will burn us to dust

  • @OverRule1 lol

  • Ceres is two time larger than this asteroid. It is 600 miles wide!

  • 45billion years later dinosaur rise again and human will come back sooner for sure...

  • BBQ time !!!

  • maybe this happened to Mars and life never recovered? ....just saying.....

  • I'm tired of these bitch-assed asteroids!

  • @Legolas25079 Planet Earth isn´t tired, Earth is hungry.

Our planet is a cannibal. Asteroids are very tasty. Delicious cute Apophis should know what´s really going on!

Once upon a time the banquet caused some trouble. If you look very, very carefully, sometimes you see the vomit.

    3476 Km in diameter,

    urps

  • Impaktor Ra hitted early "Earth", the 3rd planet, Ter.

The impact was near the aequator of Ter, on the eastern side.

Ra completely vanished in the new body of Terra.

Moon is a continent of Terra in outer space.

    q.e.d.

  • That´s no physics, that ´s nonsense!

A hot pizza 3:21 in the crater? Engulfing Earth 3:57 how? Whith what?

Come on, keep serious: after the impakt, you´ll see a pillar of magma arise VERTICAL in the center of the crater. Before comming down, the magma pillar leaves a drop of magma on it´s top, coming down a little bit later.

Make your Asteroid larger, you´ll get TWO drops of magma; a big one at the top and a smaller one below.

Moon is the bigger drop, smaller caued Thetys Ocean.

  • And goto heaven...

  • Id rather be burned by the flames of the asteroid then surviving it.....

  • in the picture of the movie its look likes a pie

  • evolution is a Hoax

  • @CreationPhotography

Can't you creationists ever say anything that is even remotely intelligent?

  • Did this happen in 2008?

  • @Erlend123123123 yes this happened in 2008, just no one noticed.....

  • HOLY.

  • DEATH!

  • So basically, if you aren't vaporized by the initial impact, then you're burned to death by the rock vapor (which is the same temperature as the MOTHER F*CKING SUN).

Why don't we have a defense system for asteroids yet? >_> I blame Obama. lul

  • Sorry whoever wrote this..if the objectwas moving at over 700 Kilomtetres per hour

    you would not see itcoming...

  • Does anybody know what this documentary is called

  • @deathtoll206 Miracle Planet.

  • bahah 1000 miles south of japan? thats gonna land pree much on top of my house (if it happens)

  • Imagine looking up and seeing this fucking thing flying at you lmao

  • seems so fake

  • 2:47 earth with a mowhawk

  • I'd like to be on the moon with a telescope if this happened.

  • If something this big started heading to earth, I'm moving to fuckin' Mars with my atmospheric methane extractor and greenhouse.

  • someone explain to me how a rock is molten in space?

  • the animation is very incorrect

    little bit weird also.

  • Lol people used this footage for their "Nibiru" 2012 bullshit.

    How quaint eh?

  • Burger King's crown 2:39 :D

  • The said the last time was 4 billion years ago, and the earth would have barley even been that old, so that means that those 6 times happend one after another, which is pretty much how the earth was created, a bunch of collisions of space rock and dust. So this would pretty much have been a scare tactic.

  • And that stats stand as follows:

    Asteroids : 6 Earth's Inhabitant's: 0

    Earth: 0 Super Nova: 1

    Chuck Norris: ∞ (infinite)

  • @STEPHENDANERD Chuck norris is chilin in the molten lava sea in the Pacific. To bad this vid was a scare tactic, last one was 4 billion years ago, that would mean that the 6 astriods were hitting one after another cause the earth is like 4.5billion years old, and that amount of astriods on a planet is pretty much expected.

  • NO, NOT JAPAN, THEY INVENTED NINTENDO

  • to quote james may from top gear: oh cock!

  • not even cockaroaches could survive that ...

  • i read an article that Obama wants NASA to land astronauts on a moving asteroid so we can prevent something like this from happening like in Armageddon. NASA says it will help train our astronauts on their mission to Mars if they're successful.

  • BOOM! (4000 years later) life evolving life evolving and then BOOM AGAIN! (400 more years later) life bui..BOOM! and so forth, if we live thru one we will be known as one of the best beings in the galaxy!

  • Awesome animation. Imagine being an astronaut on the Moon and watching such an event unfold and know you are the last living human in existence.

  • @SkyyCaptainn It would be very terrible for me to watch whole humanity to wipe out by an asteroid...I would choose to die rather than to watch the extinction of all the creatures on earth.

  • Is that Patrick Stewart?

  • @Omnius15 pretty sure it's Christopher Plummer, he does half the voice over's on stuff in Canada, Donald Sutherland does the rest.....

  • @Corvidae5 yes, that's right

  • the gfx were good

  • ...

  • SHIT...I can't possibly express how mush that creeped me out

  • @RomulanCommander I know, right? But you don't have to worry, dude. Tons of people have tried to say there will be a ginormous astroid that'll crash into earth and kill us all very soon. But every single one of those theories has been proven wrong.. only one will even come close and even then it's in like 2032 or something like that. And that one has a 1/100 chance of being affected by our gravity. If it is, well, by then we'll have the tech to "push" it away from us.

  • Chuck Norris survived 8 of these.

  • Chuck Norris don't survive asteroids. Asteroids know not to cross paths with Chuck Norris. That's why they all keep missing Earth.

  • @OverRule1 Chuck Norris is a waste of star stuff -__-

  • @OverRule1 chuck norris can suck my dick

  • hello!!!! we are in the technology era, the chinesse ppl already have the tech to send rockets to outerspace and our survival sense will make us react in defense in a case like this, if God really wants to get rid of us he is gonna have to send a earth size meteor or a different kind of disaster and yes i belive in GOD or that something created us for whatever reason, but hello!!! again we have come further than that. well i think...

  • That Meteor looks like a death star as created by Sauron.

  • God damnit we're all gonna die

  • How is the cameraman alive? lol

  • @mikee8100 I SEE HACKS!

  • hallod ez mi tiszta szégyen

  • how does it begin again?

  • Not even bacteria are safe. It probably took millennia until the Earth cooled down to have liquid water again. From that point, life re-originates at undersea volcanic vents.

  • The energy that an asteroid that size would have would be truly gargantuan. The one that killed the dinosaurs was 10 km across and had 100 million megatons of TNT equivalent energy. Figuring it has a density of 3 g/cc, and is moving at 11 km/s (the minimum velocity at impact), that gives a mass of about 2E20 kg, and a kinetic energy of 1.19E28 J, or 2.8 trillion megatons of TNT.

Also, I saw this program too, and it said bacteria could survive deep below the ocean bottom in the rock.

  • well the bacteria survived when the dinosaurs got hit by the asteroid they were in the water and other safe places they will most probably survive to evolve again just probably like it has done since earth could support life

  • 2:21

can sum1 explain to me how that happned?

  • kamehameha!

  • @lucirz galick gun

  • ROFLMFAO

    marry me.

  • 2.47 looks like the earth got a new hair make up XD

  • This has ever happened, and it most likely never will. I watched this same exact episode on the discovery channel, and they said "But how did life come again? The answer may lie in the germs held inside the oceans salt." That right there doesn't make sense, because not only did they say the world was sterilized, but they also said the salt on the earth was completely vaporized as well. Seems as though the scientists are wrong about this entire thing.

  • it would take more heat and energy to destroy the origins of life due to its audacity..the bacteria that lay beneath the ocean's core (not on top of it) can survive for ridiculous periods of time..in fact, one can go as far as even call them immortal. these little things remain in a state of suspended animation until the right moment comes...then, they spring to life...its wild really. miraculous, if you wish :))

  • Well yes, I realize this, but, the scientist on the episode of this show, said that all life, even germs were sterilized completely from the earth.

I was just pointing out how nothing they ever say here adds up.

  • @Piiratekid1 he say it WAS ASSUMED that all life would have been wiped out.

  • @Aletheophile You're replying to a comment left over 6 months ago because?

  • @Piiratekid1 errrmm.....I'm not sure what you mean by that....should I not have? Sorry if I offended you some how?

  • @Aletheophile I left that comment over 6 months ago. The conversation has been dead for a long while pal.

  • 7:02 Death star!!!! xd
