Actually, this artist is using the ENTIRE composition by Tchaikovsky !! Most artists that perform this work SKIP OVER certain repeats of phrases, but still call it the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Yes, Tchaikovsky sometimes repeats a phrase over and over, starting to increase the tempo. By taking out some of the repeats, other artists finish sooner, but at the expense of having gone against Tchaikovsky's original musical ideas. Bravo ! to this video that plays it like it is.

I like the excellent coordination of soloist vs orchestra. Usually, the orchestra cannot follow the soloist exactly. This is even done well AND at high speed in this performance shown in the video. Amazing! Does it take a Latvia to play a Russian concerto?
