  • Mateo - My mother is the sister of Gerard Soules, who trained your mother, and it is great to see his legacy live on! We really enjoyed watching this video and just wanted to thank you for crediting my uncle! All the best!

  • OK so this woman has an amazing heel catch. AMAZING. But do you really make an act out of ONE skill? It's all heel catching. I also know someone else who performs the forward roll into the heel catch. I do not mean disrespect- just adding some perspective. She is a truly amazing heel catch performer.

  • Mara Mari is the Queen of the trapeze....in fact, she is the entire royal family of aerialists.....I still have never seen her equal. Beautiful, daring, and oh, so, talented.

  • I agree with the previous comment; one of the most amazing acts that I have seen. Please come to the UK and perform this absolutely amazing act so that we can appreciate the true skill and danger of this performance.

  • You are simply the most amazing aerial artist I have ever seen. I have no understanding of how you do what you do, but I am totally in awe. Please be careful and also, please change the music......the music detracts from the beauty of your performance. Again, just too beautiful for words but, the music must be changed.....

  • holy shit

  • Mara you are absolutly gorgeous!!! Amazing!!!

  • crazy adrenaline watchin' this ,. VERY VERY GOOD!

  • Wow. I don't know, maybe she has big heels or something, but they ain't THAT big; you can tell by looking. It takes a lot work to do something like that. It's gotta hurt like hell the first few times you do it.

  • Very rare and unique act!

  • excellent trapeze act but shes ot the only person in the world to do forward somersault catch into heels .look at videos from elena popova and Olga Shmeleva

  • If you would like, I can find a picture where you can see her heels clearly, and send it to your email, if you want to give it to me. In the meantime, I will leave your comment on my page, however, since it contains incorrect information, I am going to also post my response to it. Hopefully, it will educate some people. Sincerly, Mateo Cristiani

  • You'll forgive me if I sound slightly annoyed, but I've seen my mother fall doing this act three times. She's lucky to be alive and able to still do the act. So, when someone is misinformed, it doesn't bother me, but when they pass their misinformation on to others as fact, it does bother me. My mother has worked too hard and sacrificed too much to have her work trivialized by the ignorant.

  • Some people do heel drops completely bare(not too many), but no one has ever done the tricks my mother does,(Back-Somersault, Forward-Somersault), without the rigid shoes. Many trapeze artists do use hooks, and let me tell you, they aren't foolproof either. People have fallen using them.

  • My mother doesn't have any gimmick hooks. She has rigid open-toed leather shoes to help keep her foot pointed, but shes holding on to the bar by her bare heels. She was taught this act by Gerard Soules. Very few people have ever done the act this way. Gerard Soules, Elvin Bale, Betty Rich, Mark David, my mother, Mara Mari Cristiani, and one or two others I can't quite recall.

  • @Mateocristiani1 I grew up in Detroit, two blocks from Gerry Soules. I was only a kid when he would set up his apparatus in our grade school gym to practice there. He was a good friend of our family and the real thing. RIP Gerard Soules. You were the best!

  • It always makes me chuckle when people think they know how we do what we do for a living. Everyone always thinks there is a magic feather, instead of extraordinary talent. My wife once had someone say that her juggling act was fake because she was so good at what she did. I don't know how you can fake juggling, lol.

  • Great trapeze act! Not to take anything away from her, but she uses heel gimmick hooks to catch and hold. I have only seen one female trapeze artist hold a single heel catch with her bare foot.
