There was a dispute between Perry and the members of Journey. Perry had an injury and was reluctant to get surgery and the rest of the band mates couldn't wait for him to decide (because they had already postponed their tour). They decided to leave Perry behind and move forward. As for the drummer, he left because he believed leaving Perry behind was a bad move.
Steve A sounds more like Perry than the new singer. Too bad he doesn't have the same strength in his voice. But nobody can replace Perry.
