How to install an Ableton Live Pack

Live PAcks have the most frustrating aspect of Abelton. So non-intuitive to open and find them.

HELP! Hi, i have some Live packs. When i launch the package Ableton crashes/freeze for some secounds. And it get's back to normal again, then it shows up a window that say's something like " Your installation failed " .. But i just have Live Lite 8 Xonar edition, is it something with that? D o i need the full version for installing them ? Thanks.

So you can't install live packs in the library... I didn't know this and I installed a bunch there. If I click Preferences - Library, they are all listed under Live Pack. But if I open the library folder itself in My Documents - Ableton, they are not visible. What should I do? They are installed and taking up space but I don't know how to access them.

Only Live Packs from Ableton are listed in the preferences>Library.

Third party Live Packs aren't visible there.

Example:

If you have installed the Drum Machines Live Pack,

you cant use it until you bought the optional license.

I've followed your instructions on the video but when i right cilc on it there isno manage project....! i can only create one....

You need only a additional licence for Ableton Live Suite.

Drum Rack is a part of the Suite

I hope Ableton will change the Live Pack architecture in the next version of Live.

I think it's easier to install Live-Pack, directly to the Library. Maybe a user Library and a Factory Library.

The upgrade form Live 8 to Live 8 Suite is something about 250 $

It's really worth the money.

I have a apple mac OSX purchased oct 08

I have ableton live

I installed ableton live in my mac

i saved ableton live to my hard disc

i try to open ableton live and a information box opens that says

the device "built in microphone (2 in, o out)" only has input channels. live only supports audio devices that have at least one stereo out output"

When i try to use ableton there is no sound

please if you can help please do

Today when I opened Live 8 I saw the same drop box like you explained.

Go to preferences an ( cmd + , )

Audio --> Audio Divice --> Driver Type --> CoreAudio

choose your In + Output Device.

Now it should work again.

Maybe it's because of the last OS X Java update.

I installed it yesterday.
