This is the most Awesome form of fishing because you actually have to get in the water not sit of a frikkin dock and use a pole like a whimp, you're in the water where you have to be more careful of where you step and actually have to work to get the fish! when fishing this way, you're actually letting the catfish attack your hand, and with a 30-40 pound catfish flailing away it won't take long for your arm to break.

then it doesn't help that catfish have spines on 3 fines and will gladly stick one right into you.

@crazygrower they stick their hand in where the catfish is hiding and it bites them in a defense and/or feeding response. Catfish will eat just about anything... this method is called "noodling".. Of course there could just as easily be a snapping turtle or cottonmouth in those holes. Its really only for those who don't value their digits.
