found your video throught my friend Jackeee...girl it is funny you said the thing about your head being skinny in the back..I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM .....its crazy..lol...
Thanks so much for doing this and being such a great teacher and funny. Can you do this with straight braid i.e kanekalon braid? Would you be willing to do a video of it?
@Bloom5000 YOUR WELCOME!! I never tried straight. I wish you would have sent this monday. I just did my crochet braids over. Dang. Maybe next time BUT there is a girl that can help ya.
@tobeautiful247 other is a slightly differnet methods. there is a lady that does it with wavy hair. Search My Crochet braids Freetress loose deep 24".
@SPIRITofLOVE76 at the beauty supply store... but i found it a little hard to find even though i live in nyc. you may have to search around or u may get lucky.
lol@ lion king. funny also bc i saw (or rather walked out on) the lion king 3D yesterday and i remember thinking to myself...damn...mufasa looks crazy with all that hair (mane).
great job and i like your 4,6, 8 suggestion. thanks!
This style looks amazing only thing is i dont think i would beable to have those knots in my hair like how to take them out and it looks kinda time consuming, tho i have sat in a chair to get my hair in kinky twist and that took like 10hrs.
@Candiecane908 yes i have seen peep do that. the method is the same. i personally don't like the outcome for me but look it up for yourself. hope that helps
@armanaqueen yes as long as they are small. You could also do two strand flat twists if you know how and tie it off with a rubber band at the nape of the neck.
@SmartAmerican1 im not sure why they are coming out. but there is a way to knot it again. so after you do the regular knot then take a few hairs and knot them together. that may help. i saw that from a lady that uses wavy hair.
I think you do an excellent job of describing how to do this awesome style. Problem is I cant braid worth a lick. Im in NYC too, would you be willing to do my hair, for a fee of course :-)
@Moon4010 so i am not a hair stylist and im really weary of doing peeps hair because of that. i dont want to do it and peep are unhappy. if you still want that email me your number and we can talk about it.
toysvoice, I followed your directions, except I used a yarn needle instead of the crochet hook. Thanks for your tutorial. It really worked. Now, I just have to cut the Afro down because I used Afro Kinky bulk hair. Thanks a lot.
You said, "It is what it is!" Too funny! Great video!! Thanks for sharing...I can't make up my mind what type of hair I want after seeing so many different styles on here.
Thank you, to the tenth! I have been wondering what to do with my hair knowing full well that I don't want braids and I don't want a weave "per say". I wanted full natural looking hair and this is it! I am 3 months post and I really don't want to relax, not sure if I want to transition but I don't want to have to worry about it for awhile. You look gorgeous, dahhhling! Thanks!!!
It's beautiful and your instructions are great, stop giving the info for free, you have something here, make avideo and sell it exclusively. Thank you .
Very, very thorough, I've watched over 6 vids on latch-hooking and all of them were talking about glue and gel and mousse and I definitely wasn't feeling all the effort. However, since seeing yours I think I can pull off my winter protective style for my natural hair. Thanks sooooo much, you really don't know how thorough you made this technique, thanks again.
Hey, Love your tutorial. I saw this the other day and decided to do it, as of now I'm in the transition stage of going natural. One question, where did you purchase your hair from, and what type of color should I get? I have jet black hair, but it looks a little brown in the light. I don't want any color in it just black. When the product is finished I will send you a video. Thanks
@JGrace221 hmmm idk. Sometime that happens to me too. i have learned to be rally delicate and after i seperate the hair to twist it around my finger a bit. Thats the best advice i can give on that one. Sorry..:-( i guess it will be trial and error.
THANK U 4 DIS TUTORIAL...i just made a video of my 1st attempt which ive added as a video response, please watch and lemme no wat u think...im loving this look...thanks 4 all d time and energy u put into this series...much appreciated girl
@jenkinsalisa64 I don't think that matters. If you mean thin and your worried that your braids will look spaced out then maybe you can use sum synthetic bulk hair to add to the cornrows. That may help if thats wa u mean. If not let me know.
This is a great tutorial...think I may try this. I noticed that u were stuck on the name of the instrument ur using...it's called a latch hook. If not found in the hair supply stores, u can def find it at an arts and crafts store.

This is a great tutorial ( I favorited it a while ago)!! I went out and bought the hair and needle awhile ago, but have been scared to try it. Sooo this weekend, I'm finally gonna do it! How long do u keep urs in?
i cant believe this is the first time ive heard of this. I mean i use to do the th stye using the hair thats already braided back in the days, but i had no idea that you could do it using loose hair lke that. NEAT! I want mine done.
@toysvoice I am going to try it. Do yu think it can be done with the human hair used to do micro braids? Then again it would probly buldge out where the knot is. Idk, what do you think? I would hate to try it and it turns out looking a hot mess.
i did my hair and its been good for the most part but every day like a piece comes out and i have to put it back in. ive been doing the knots and everything is there something im doin wrong
@negress07 hmm i dont know. If you knotting the way i showed then i cant think of anything. Are you pulling in the morning to shape the way you want? Cuz that may be an issue. I cant really say since i haven't had any come out. When i finish them u usually do a lil pull to see if there are any loose one and pull those completely out. After that i have no problems. It may have to be trial and error for you to figure out the problem.
How long does this take. Cause it seems the easiest way to do this look. I'm a DIY (Do it yourself) girl who loves her hair natural. But would like longer hair some days.
@Mangapulse it takes me about 5 hours without the braids. Usually I do the braids a night or two before then when I'm and ready and have hours to spare I do the style.
I have watched your series of videos for this style over and over again and absolutely love this style!!! This helped me grow my hair out last year..Thanks for sharing. I will post a video showing the hair I used and shout outs to you :-)
Do you have to use that hair?
iammichelle2 2 weeks ago

About 2.5 is good. For this one I used 2 and my hair fell and didn't look as good 1 month later. So 2.5 is better
