I'm pretty sure there is a genetic component to homosexuality so why shouldn't it be a criterion for egg donation. If you don't want a gay kid it makes sense you wouldn't want a gay donor. Also why would you want a donor who was a different race than your own. I would think that white parents with a half black kid might raise some eyebrows. Obviously that's not big of a deal but if you have a choice I think you would want the kid to have your race in order to avoid questions.
The children of homosexuals are more likely to be gay than the children of straight people. That doesn't mean that there is a 100 percent correlation. Gay people can have straight kids and straight people can have gay kids.

Unfortunately not every child is able to get a stable two-parent home, so as long as their caregiver(s) genuinly loves and takes care of them, the kids will still do well.

There are many cases of abuse and neglect that can turn a seemingly "perfect" family into a nightmare. Also, there's a lot of things people feel the media should not promote, but I don't see it as necessarily a promotion, but rather a visual of what our 21st century reality is like.

I'm pretty sure there is a genetic component to homosexuality so why shouldn't it be a criterion for egg donation. If you don't want a gay kid it makes sense you wouldn't want a gay donor. Also why would you want a donor who was a different race than your own. I would think that white parents with a half black kid might raise some eyebrows. Obviously that's not big of a deal but if you have a choice I think you would want the kid to have your race in order to avoid questions.

You're totally right about race. As my dad used to say, "there's only one race, and that's the human race." It sounds cool but also the fact is that the very concept of race is a cultural construct. Anyway, about the gay people . . . I said that b/c of a class I took as a psych major. He pointed to twin and adoption studies that suggested that homosexually is partially hereditary. That should make sense to anyone who believes that people are "born" gay.(There's a genetic component)

As we understand it - in utero there is a period when the embryo is quite sensitive to normal hormonal fluctuations in the mother's body. Hormones are a system constantly in flux. Its epigenetics. depending on influencers in the mothers environment any influencers that affect the distribution of testosterone etc

Anyone who picks and chooses their egg or sperm donors for anything other than health reasons should be immediately turned out of the recipient program. It's unethical to give a baby to people who have shown a tendency for abusing and hating people for no reason. Since nobody can tell for sure how that baby is going to be as an adult, it's reasonable to restrict the needlessly hateful from having children whenever possible.

If you are either gay or not gay, the only thing that determines it like that is genetics. Everything else can be changed. Also if it is a chemical imbalance that is causing it, I do believe that would be a body impairment, although not seen from the outside.
