Just dropping a line to say I just showed this to a coworker of mine, and he's totally blown away by how tight all three of you are. In fact, he mentioned all three of you while watching the video. Each time he mentioned one of you, he said, "that guy is amazing" or something along those lines.
I first saw this video a month after it was posted. It is still far and away my favorite music video on Youtube. Not only is the music excellent, but the videography is also quite good.
One more thing... I REALLY need to figure out a way to get you guys to come through St. Louis. Are you touring the Midwest any time soon? If so, let me know, and I will contact the guy that runs the blues gigs here and get the ball rolling.
My local full time jazz station here, was playing Organisimo, back couple years. When I heard these cats, being the B-3 nut that I am, I was hooked. Not ur basic "Organ Trio". This post is fantastic, b3groover. Bravo! Way past *****
It's great how relaxed, casual, yet spirited the whole song is. You guys didn't even break a sweat, lest miss a beat. The sum of practice, talent, songwriting skills and execution. As I said...jawdroppin'. Wish I could tickle a Mellotron like that, but I'd break my knuckles (and all the tapes!); the keystroke action just isn't like a signature Hammond!
I love it! As a beginner B3 player I finally found the type of music that I love! I also will be buying their CD's and I could have heard this live if I would have known. I live in Indiana.
OK. I am sorry. I am addicted to this song. It is almost unhealthy. I may need to start a Pumpkin Pie Anonymous. "Hello. My name is Steve, and I am hooked on Pumpkin Pie. I listened to it... *sob*... 15 *sob* times today. I can't help it. I'm *sob* weak. Someone... please help me..."
Very cool. Nice to see some other Hammond B3 enthusiasts here in Michigan. You've got a very tasty style, I dig it. Also, it's cool to see another guy who plays without shoes. Awesome job guys.
Greatest video I ever saw. A fantastic player on a fantastic instrument.
I live in Hungary where the Hammond organ is very unknown and rare (i think less than 10 Hammonds in the country). I haven't even saw a B-3, "only" an A-100. I have (at least) an L-100 which is hard to be played so widely as a console... But I play Pumpkin Pie daily :-) (or something like that...).
So it would be great if You planned to make gigs abroad too. I could borrow that A-100 :)
Oh. My. Gosh. That is simply beautiful. I am at work, and cannot sit still in my chair. Please let me know if you are anywhere NEAR St. Louis, or are interested in gigging down here. There are 3 straight up blues clubs here that would love to have you play for them.
Also, I am in the very early stages of learning to play piano right now, and aspire to play B3. I own a C2 that I am refurbishing right now, so hopefully once I am decent at piano the C will be done. All I need now is a Leslie. ;-) Any how... anything I should keep in mind as I learn to play piano?
Thank you for the comments. We'd love to play in St. Louis. Please email me via our website (www.organissimo.org) using the "info" address.
As for keeping in mind things about organ as you're learning piano... keep in mind they are very different instruments! But anything you learn on piano can be transfered to the Hammond. Learn your scales, modes, appeggios, chord voicings, etc. Practice!

where did the bass go?
yunadezign 1 year ago
@yunadezign
The organ is the bass! There are pedals underneath for bass.
Jimb0678 1 year ago
@yunadezign he uses a combination of his feet on the pedals and his left hand. Very nicely done.

@doltoy and Jimb0678
I know, but the sound changes and the bass falls away ;)

This song is very cool! Ilove it, especially the beginning, its such a beautiful sound, nothing can beat a real Hammond with a real Leslie!

Awesome playing guys - consider both albums bought! I am now hooked to Pumpkin Pie and have several slices every day.
Love the dynamics on this track, not to mention wonderful voicings out of the b3. Come over and play on this side of the lake!!

Wow, Just thought I'd check to see if you guys had any videos up on this site.
I haven't heard either of these songs before, I own an older album though. I love this stuff, it just keeps getting better as the song progresses.
And Randy is a madman on the drums. I wish I was still taking lessons with him.
