  • organ says cool whip at 10:04

  • The real great B3 sound !

Thanks to all three for this beautyfull performance !

  • Just dropping a line to say I just showed this to a coworker of mine, and he's totally blown away by how tight all three of you are. In fact, he mentioned all three of you while watching the video. Each time he mentioned one of you, he said, "that guy is amazing" or something along those lines.

I first saw this video a month after it was posted. It is still far and away my favorite music video on Youtube. Not only is the music excellent, but the videography is also quite good.

  • One more thing... I REALLY need to figure out a way to get you guys to come through St. Louis. Are you touring the Midwest any time soon? If so, let me know, and I will contact the guy that runs the blues gigs here and get the ball rolling.

  • Given a shout-up to my old friend, Rand Marsh on drums,

  • This is the shit jim.

  • where did the bass go?

  • @yunadezign

The organ is the bass! There are pedals underneath for bass.

  • @yunadezign he uses a combination of his feet on the pedals and his left hand. Very nicely done.

  • @doltoy and Jimb0678

I know, but the sound changes and the bass falls away ;)

  • This song is very cool! Ilove it, especially the beginning, its such a beautiful sound, nothing can beat a real Hammond with a real Leslie!

  • Oh,and i also like the gospel-style from 10:00 to 11:00

  • randy marsh..

    lmfao

    south park..

  • 9:43-9:49

    Pure evil! lol!

    Amazing piece. Congrats.

  • Beautiful ! Great inspiration :)

  • this is great....

  • Jim and the boys engineered this song like Wheather Report's,Birdland!!!This kind of music is rare. What a great cut!!!

  • very smooth thanks for sharing! x

  • nice little gospel in there .......nice!

  • Lubriphonic is looking forward to playing a show with you all in Michigan May 20th at Billy's. GOOD TIMES!

  • Ooooh, that first minute and a half is absolutely the warmest sounding organ music I have ever heard. Such a great band and song :D

  • muito legal! =D

  • My local full time jazz station here, was playing Organisimo, back couple years. When I heard these cats, being the B-3 nut that I am, I was hooked. Not ur basic "Organ Trio". This post is fantastic, b3groover. Bravo! Way past *****

  • I need to watch this video at least once a day. The B3 is mad tight.

  • Come to L.A. Organissimo. Steamer's, Catalina Bar and Grill, Jazz Bakery, Spazio. They'd book you for sure, and I'd go to every one.

  • amazing!! grea grea great !!! no coment :o)

  • WOW, there isn't another instrument in the world as expressive as the B3! They have soul!!

  • ok ! i'm a fan !

  • What a filling. Thank you for such superb music.

  • Very nice and "warm" sound. That B3 sounds very clear. Very nice play from all three.

It seems that Randy has got two snare drums in his drum kit...

  • So cool.

  • Total brilliance! Three great players. Is that your car key in the top manual at 11 minutes in?

  • Coool toots 'n glingly picking.

  • Great stuff guys, a perfect mix. Jim, you make that Hammond talk man, like it's got a heart.

  • Wonderful::::LOVE that Pentacostal Holiness shout that you put right there in the middle:::Awesome

  • GREAT STUFF!!!

  • Very Smooth, Look forward to seeing you at the Jazz fest in Lansing.

  • Very Very. Perfect blend. Sounds great guys.

  • best live performance ive ever seen!these guys are as hip as it gets!

  • Fine chops on all the instruments.

  • You guys lay it down thick. Right on.

  • Reminds me of little Zora! <3

  • It's great how relaxed, casual, yet spirited the whole song is. You guys didn't even break a sweat, lest miss a beat. The sum of practice, talent, songwriting skills and execution. As I said...jawdroppin'. Wish I could tickle a Mellotron like that, but I'd break my knuckles (and all the tapes!); the keystroke action just isn't like a signature Hammond!

  • jawdroppin'!!! great to hear; great to see! thanks for sharing

  • I love funky hammond, keep it up

  • Whoa... nice

  • You guys have some kickass chops. Well done! I absolutely love the groove you lay down.

  • I never get tired of it.

  • Nice

  • zeker vettig

  • What a fine compliment to my morning oatmeal. You boys seriously groove!

  • awesome

  • Jim- nice meeting you again when you came to Philly. Thanks for coming out to hear us!

    Lucas

  • I love it! As a beginner B3 player I finally found the type of music that I love! I also will be buying their CD's and I could have heard this live if I would have known. I live in Indiana.

  • We'll be playing Indy soon (hopefully). Check the website or sign up to the email list so you'll know when we get a date!

And thanks for the comments! Keep rockin' the B3!

  • Awesome playing guys - consider both albums bought! I am now hooked to Pumpkin Pie and have several slices every day.

Love the dynamics on this track, not to mention wonderful voicings out of the b3. Come over and play on this side of the lake!!

  • you guys kick ass!!!!

  • Wow, Just thought I'd check to see if you guys had any videos up on this site.

I haven't heard either of these songs before, I own an older album though. I love this stuff, it just keeps getting better as the song progresses.

And Randy is a madman on the drums. I wish I was still taking lessons with him.

  • Related to Otis Redding, watching the tide??

Carrying on where he is still sitting at the dock.

  • Never thought of it that way, but great observation. Just proof that everything we listen to winds up somewhere, eh? Thanks!

  • OK. I am sorry. I am addicted to this song. It is almost unhealthy. I may need to start a Pumpkin Pie Anonymous. "Hello. My name is Steve, and I am hooked on Pumpkin Pie. I listened to it... *sob*... 15 *sob* times today. I can't help it. I'm *sob* weak. Someone... please help me..."

  • We'll have to look into starting a "12 Step program".. LOL

  • This is very nice. A nice relaxed groove. Good ebb and flow in the arrangement and use of dynamics.

  • Very cool. Nice to see some other Hammond B3 enthusiasts here in Michigan. You've got a very tasty style, I dig it. Also, it's cool to see another guy who plays without shoes. Awesome job guys.

  • nawauw...great sound... in Belgium we say.." the sound is vettig

  • Greatest video I ever saw. A fantastic player on a fantastic instrument.

I live in Hungary where the Hammond organ is very unknown and rare (i think less than 10 Hammonds in the country). I haven't even saw a B-3, "only" an A-100. I have (at least) an L-100 which is hard to be played so widely as a console... But I play Pumpkin Pie daily :-) (or something like that...).

So it would be great if You planned to make gigs abroad too. I could borrow that A-100 :)

  • Oh. My. Gosh. That is simply beautiful. I am at work, and cannot sit still in my chair. Please let me know if you are anywhere NEAR St. Louis, or are interested in gigging down here. There are 3 straight up blues clubs here that would love to have you play for them.

  • Also, I am in the very early stages of learning to play piano right now, and aspire to play B3. I own a C2 that I am refurbishing right now, so hopefully once I am decent at piano the C will be done. All I need now is a Leslie. ;-) Any how... anything I should keep in mind as I learn to play piano?

  • Thank you for the comments. We'd love to play in St. Louis. Please email me via our website (www.organissimo.org) using the "info" address.

As for keeping in mind things about organ as you're learning piano... keep in mind they are very different instruments! But anything you learn on piano can be transfered to the Hammond. Learn your scales, modes, appeggios, chord voicings, etc. Practice!

  • Roll-r-Kari's still attached, I see :)

  • It's the only way to fly.

  • Aint that the truth. Great playing here BTW

  • man, this is very beautiful

  • My big brother and his hammond! I'm so proud! <3

  • Great stuff!!! I'll be watching for more from these guys.

  • This stuff is slammin! Great composition, stellar performance, and feel for days!!!

  • way to go guys! you need more of the Pat faces, Joe ;-)
