  • Now i have to play Lufia again. Fugin nostalgia

  • Lufia 2 is an excellent RPG the two things i hate about are 1. It was never released here in the EU and 2. Since I had played Lufia on an emulator beforehand I knew what happens at the end of this game which is a shame! What bastards making a game that gets you attached to the legendary heroes of the first/second game

  • The epitome of elite boss music

  • Comment removed

  • This and RS3 = *3*

  • So glad I played games like this and Lunar when I was a kid.

  • Master Jelly is a Sinistral?

  • The first time i played this game, i could not accept the defeat against Gades. 3-4 hours later I was proud owner of his Blade :D.

  • This game is on par with Lunar 2 as my second favorite game of all time.

I LOVE each Sinistral battle, Starting from the First time you fight Gades, to the final battle with Daos. Some of my FAVORITE boss battles of all time.

  • Probably one of the best RPGs ever made.

  • not only does this sinistrals boss music needs to be on the next super smash brothers game BUT we need Maxim in there as well. and who knows maybe one of the sinistrals needs to be involved in the story arc as well.

  • @balbarith45 EPICNESS IN ITS PUREST FORM

  • i just beat the for the first time and i got to tell yall something

IT WAS FUCKING EPIC ONE OF THE BEST RPG GAMES I EVER PLAYED :D

  • It saddens me to know that really great stories like this one will fade into oblivion. All things being equal, this is one of the Top 5 stories in general I've ever experienced in any medium. Books, Movies, Video Games, or reality, this one's Top 5.

  • This game ROCKS thumbs up if you hate jews YEAH!

  • This game is on par with Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete as my 2nd favorite game of all time. I just love it.

  • When I said this game was better than FFIV back then, I almost got punched.

    I still think it is.

  • first time i heard this was in HCBailly's playthrough of the game against "the big boss" and i instantly fell in love with this epic piece of snes guitar music (there are guitars in it, they are there faintly)

  • This game had an awesome storyline and it was emotional.

  • It is games like this that remind me why the Super Nintendo is my favorite system of all time.

  • I LOVE this game.. for every Lufia fan. coul you please so kind and add me thanks. this game is my favourit one so everyone who hates it can fuck himself

  • A friend of mine who got this game and didn't like it gave it to me as a present.

Yeah, he was kinda a dumbass.

  • greatest game ever! luck my cousin got a copy of this at release date when he got his snes. i end up stealing it :D haha

  • 3 dislikes? I guess Daos, Gades and Amon were here, uh?

  • @Zephres Hehe, genius comment!

  • @Zephres Oh noes! Now we need a fourth!

  • @Zephres Why would the Sinistrals dislike their own Battle music? More like it would be Maxim, Guy, Selan, and Artea.

  • @Pharphain

Let's suppose you have your very own battle music, and it's as awesome as this one, and you're like "Oh yeah, my theme rocks, fearme everyone" then, a group of seemly weak humans comes at you and while this song is playing they kick your ass so hard that your next reincarnation will have amnesia... I think you won't like that song any more...

  • @Zephres Even though they lost, they still caused a lot of damage to the world, and even Daos was pretty much laughing his ass off after you beat him saying he was going to drop Doom Island on his onto Parcelyte as a final act of terror. So if the Sinistrals were to here this, they would probably have grins on their faces reminiscing about all the Destruction they caused, Chaos they brang, all the deaths they've tallied, and all the Terror they sprouted into the peoples hearts.

  • @Pharphain Were to HEAR*** this

  • @Zephres now its 4 dislikes, Erim has come too

  • @Zephres Iris has joined them by now :P

  • Anything that Natsume's name is on is automatically amazing. Fact.

  • I downloaded a collection with a lot of snes ROMs.

I opened my ZNES and randomly picked up Lufia II.

I tought "I've never heard about this game... let's play it!"

When I realized, I was playing it for 4 hours...

  • If you negged this song, you deserve to be beaten with a baseball bat.

  • The best game for SNES, i love it.

  • @JenovaMember Are you serious? Guy was an awesome character and he was NOT at ALL slow. He was always in my party because he was strong and fast. Man -_-' that really is messed up. And how could they make Maxim less manly? Gosh, who remade this game anyway?

  • @Pyro25100

Guy is very slow in the DS version. By the time he swings his hammer, the enemies knock him over and damage him. Tia and Dekar are very useless in the DS version. Maxim is less manly because he sounds like a teenager who hasn't hit puberty yet... -_- He's a good fighter, and Selan is an awesome fighter as well. I think the best three characters to use in battle in the DS version are Maxim, Selan, and Artea.

  • @JenovaMember

Guy, however is the easiest member of the party to get the Dragon Egg for the second sinistral, Amon, in the DS version. I did it accidently. I only know a little of what happened in the original, but I'm PRETTY sure that Tia and Dekar were not in the final party to beat the bosses.

  • @minorfffanatic1

You are correct. Maxim, Selan, Guy, and Artea are the main party that is used. In the DS version, they allowed you to use Tia and Dekar against the final boss, which is kind of pointless because they suck anyway... -_-

  • this theme is so fucking great :D

  • I honestly don't see the thrill in secret of mana ... What I've seen of it seems rather poorly made.

However, I merely played around 150 minutes of Lufia 2 and it just didn't stop entertaining me.

  • I loved this game but it doesnt seem to be as popular with game fans as I would have thought. oh well. I loved it and I'd play this game any day.

  • i'd say this, breath of fire 2, chrono trigger, terranigma, zelda 3, mega man x3 and dkc3 and you would have quite the list of snes games.

  • It probably got released at an awkward time period and people forgot about it, like when SMRPG came out. Pretty boss game, sort of a basic storyline but it's all about the badass IP Skills that you would get with new equipment and the sinistral fights.

  • @dilps The one way Lufia trumped every other RPG is in it's puzzles. Some were pretty ridiculous.

  • @thisbarb Yeah, truly the Zelda of menu-based RPGS. Never got towards beating it because these games take so damn long!!!

  • My personal RPG SNES Top 3:

    - Lufia 2

    - Secret of Evermore

    - Terranigma (<-- that is one of the deepest stories i have ever played as a 10 year old boy :D)

  • @Leimrey1985 Eww....keep it an rpg. Why do these developers always have to ruin the good games. If it was an rpg at first, keep it that way. If it was an action platformer, keep it that way. Nothing good can come from this crappy remake.

  • @Pyro25100

For someone who's currently replaying the remake, it's not a bad game. It does lack the original's charm, and Maxim is less manly than he was -_-, but it's still a good game. I just wish they didn't make Guy so useless!! His weapon is so slow... >:(

  • Great song! 8 and 16 bit tunes are my favourites!

  • What, Natsume? I only knew it by Harvest Moon games. This is something very different.

  • @sinituuke Natsume published the game (in the USA). It was made by Neverland.

  • I first briefly played this game when it first came out, but didn't really get into it (and actually beat it) until the fall of 2001. Never will I forget the awe I felt when I first fought Gades and heard this music.

  • Try finding this game new, aint going to happen..

  • I've been playing this game on and off for almost 2 years and I'm maybe halfway through. The game is kind of repetitive...town, dungeon, town, dungeon, town, dungeon, Gades, town... The music is great at times and mediocre at others. The characters aren't bad, but their maturity makes them a bit boring.

One of these days I will finish the game. But so far it is way outclassed by Chrono Trigger.

Though I will admit I love the puzzles so far.

  • GO TO HELL GADES/AMON/ERIM/DAOS

  • I am Gades, master of destruction!!!

  • this game is so good to bad it was underrated the way it was but it deserves to be played along with suikoden series and the 1st lufia game ....give it about a 10/10 its a great game

  • Awesome game, awesome music... but effin Squareenix is bringing this godly game into the DS... sadly not as an RPG anymore... more likely somewhat like an action platform game x(

  • This game should be hailed as a classic, like Chrono Trigger, or Secret of Mana, not that game that noone knows about that is secretly really awesome.

Seriously, this game is like Zelda (if Zelda had some serious mind bending puzzles) as a turn based RPG.

  • I preffer it as a secret game, that only the true RPG fans played.

  • @LetoZeth

    respect

  • @LetoZeth well said :)

  • @LetoZeth I know your comment is a year old, but there's no such thing as a "real" fan of anything. We all have our characteristics that make us fans of whatever it is we like about anything in general.

  • @JuanitoShet Way to spoil the special moment.

  • Hrm Lufia II did do a great job of implementing good puzzles, there weren't really any in Lufia I, which, while an inferior game technically, I still loved more.

Zelda certainly has plenty of puzzles though,

  • @MrMinkStar it even has "the worlds hardest trick" as the game calls it

  • @MrMinkStar screw secret of mana. Seiken Densetsu 3 a.k.a. Secret of Mana 2 is one of the best SNES RPGs EVER!

  • The K-A is for KICK ASS!

  • >Destruction Wave

    >everyone dies except Guy

    >Guy dies next turn

Well I was obviously supposed to lose there.

...what? You can beat that... THING?

    Christ this game ruled.

  • @Frieza102

Had to grind hardcore till all my party was around lvl 40 - lvl 50. After defeating him and getting the Ultimate Sword of Imba though, all bosses were a cakewalk, (mostly because I was such high level at that point in the game)

  • One of the best RPGs I played on the SNES. Seriously, the first one was okay, but this 2nd one blew it out of the water completely!

  • This game was way underrated. It should be up there alongside Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana.

  • the ending brought tears to my eyes... i totally agree with you ignistempest

  • @ignistempest I just wish it wasn't bugged at the 100th level of that one dungeon

  • @ignistempest

secret of mana is udder CRAP its an extremely dumbed down zelda with grinding added in.

  • @ignistempest

Secret of Mana was good, but nowhere near as good as its Japanese sequel. Secret of Mana 2, or Seiken Densetsu 3, as it's better known, is absolutely superior to the original.

  • @CodyMac1234 the combat system is less fun so not really

  • @ignistempest So true. I was so stunned by the story and specially the combatsysttem.

  • @ignistempest Agreed. I just played it for the first time last year and it's an amazing game. Great puzzles, memorable characters and dialogue, and the music is incredible. This game and Terranigma often get overlooked.

  • @ignistempest Fuck that. This game put BOTH of them to shame, IMO.

  • @ignistempest Easily above Secret of Mana, SoM is so unbalanced it's not even funny

  • @swizard There are a couple of things that hold SoM back from being truly excellent. 1. Time stops when you open your menu/use magic 2. That stupid charging bar that made the game less action packed than it could have been 3. The fact that monsters and bosses have frames of invulnerability at all

  • @ignistempest i totally agree with this.easily among the best on the console

  • @ignistempest Hmmm...Not sure about Chrono Trigger. Pretty sure Chrono Trigger is regarded by many as the best game of all time. I'll give you Secret of Mana.

  • Ahh takes me 10 Years Back.

    best Song in Lufia

  • I played Lufia 1 for years before I knew they made this one, and when I got it, it blew me away. So good!

  • Best music ever..

  • I've never played this game, but this theme is damn awesome.

  • you ave to play it...the game is great the storyline is great and entrancing and the ending is great everithing about it is perfect or near perfect

  • it's a great game i agree, but it has one downside: my first time playing it, i finished it under 2 days ^^

and dont you "lifeless, jobless, girlfriendless bastard" i'm looking for work and i have a girlfriend :P

  • well good games arent necessarilly long not like most nowaday rpg grudging time with stupid element quest dont they understand were freaking hating element quest because its a copy apoasta of othervgame? i prefer a 2day game than a week long 1 that get anoying and repetitive

  • Yeah, but I was refering to storyline Gades Blades only.

  • Comment removed

  • i would love to play this game cause it's one of the few snes rpg's that came out in europe, but it's pretty hard to find for a good price. i've heard many great things about it and of course this theme kicks ass

  • get a emulator and download the game

    then you can play :)

  • Gades! XD

  • I still say that this game mentioning Arek the Absolute as the leader of the Sinistrals and then never letting you fight him is one of video gaming history's greatest moments of cock-teasing.

  • I played this game long ago and forgot some of the stories but i remembered we were cornered by demon at deep castle and Dekar fought them all, and I thought he actually died there

but the magnificant dekar actually back!

  • Shut up! Don't screw it for the newbies

  • You really feel like you're in the middle of a decisive battle when you hear this music and the fight starts... Yay! this brings me memories!

  • Epic. Absolutely an awesome song <3

  • That is the best song in lufia rise of sinsitrals

  • i..LOVE...this...theme...YAY!

it really makes you feel like you're fighting for your life, dragging you into the battle.

(i can't resist moving with the song...heh, why else would i be watching a vid with VGM ;) XD )

  • Lmao I'm glad I'm not the only one who reset the game a shitload of times cuz I didn't think you were suppose to lose to Gades. I played Lufia II before Lufia I and lucked out..made this game SO much more interesting and Lufia more interesting too since L2 was a prequel and you only knew what was in the past.

It also had me thinking the second fight where the guys go after him was the end of the game lol. I was like 'woah short game!'. So glad that gimpy douche wasn't the last sinistral..

  • in europe this actually was just "Lufia" and had a different front

  • this song is totally EPIC!

  • This music is so fucking epic and awesome. This was game should have gotten more popularity.

  • yup. way more.

  • Ive played this game since I was a a kid Both are great games. On a side note i never noticed they were made by the company that created harvest moon another game i like... go fig :P

  • Natsume didn't make the Lufia series. They just published it here. Taito was the company behind it, with Neverland as the developer.

  • Oh man, Lufia and Lufia 2 were great games. The plot really drags you into it.

  • I failed to beat Gades the first time you fight him. It's possible to beat him , I know. But he is strong.

  • you need about lvl 30 and masses of statues

  • He is quite simple tbh, 27~should be high enough to beat him.. tactics.. and ofc a litle luck as always ;) but thats a thing we cant control man u should try it if u stil got the game :)!

  • He's very rewarding to beat. I've seen someone overleveled beat him, and they still got enough experience to gain a few levels.

  • AMay because that one plays the game another time(if you beat the game you gain 4x Coins and 4x EXp^^) so its preety easy to overlevel and get a lot of EXP from Gades^^

  • If you kill him, he drops Gades Blade, one of the strongest swords in the game. It has the octostrike-ability, making Guy slash 8 times in a row when you use it. Imba.

  • you can also get that Gades Blade in the 99 floor dungeon though, so its pretty irrelevant if your going to do the 99 floor dungeon.

  • imagine having two of 'em, making both Maxim AND Guy use octostrike!

  • Well, i got four of 'em on my save file.

too bad many save files i had got deleted by the ***** thingies

  • Sadly, Maxim can't use Gades Blade.

But there's 2 Gades Blades in the entire game.

Guy and Dekar is the only two playable characters able to wield that sword.

  • Dekar should stick with the Dekar Blade, really ;)

and, overall Dekar isn't available for very long... and I didn't really find him as good as Guy, I don't know why. But for Maxim, stick with Silvo Rapier ;)

  • Agreed. I just said he could use it.

As for Maxim, I tend to give him the Silvo Rapier until I obtain the Dual Blade.

  • believe me when I say that the Silvo Rapier is better than de Dual Blade, or at least it's IP-power is. Ye know, Holy Energy, 3x normal attack strength, doubled to a whopping 6x because of the Light element vs Sinistrals.

But, anyways, the song is great xD

  • Yeah, I know. I prefere the Dual Blade, though, consindering it (somehow) deals more damage than Silvo Rapiers IP for me. I dunno why.

But yeah, this is my favorite song from the game.

  • dekar is much stronger than guy and after countless times playing this game and having fighters fall in battle. dekar is the only fighter out of the 7 that has never fallen in battle for me. and besides dekar is very funny

  • Dekar is humorous

"I'm great with the sword, but I'm not too bad at soothing words, either"

"I'm great with the sword, and even better with ladies"

he's pretty strong, but Guy always ends up stronger. Mebbe because of his weaponry.

  • guy is stronger because he stays in the party throughout. if dekar could stay or rejoin dekar would still be stronger in my eyes. but im certain that dekar can use the same swords as guy to.

  • Dekar cannot withstand the Sinistrals energy waves needed to fight the remaining Sinistrals...same with Tia & Lexis. If he went up to Amon and said 'shaddup' he woulda got owned too. They weren't the chosen ones. Of the not chosen ones of course Dekar was the most kick-ass.

  • yeah the reason why dekar is strong throughout the game is because he leaves...and leaves the second strongest with is guy,,,but selan owns with magic

  • With a bit of luck, yes, but it helps to already have it on you. Not sure if you can take it with you inside though, I should check that.

  • you can, Blue Treasures are the ones that you can keep. and guess what? that sword lies in blue chests.

  • Actually Gades is quite simple to beat. All you need to do is be able to buff up enough in the battle to make Guy and Selan able to withstand one of his hits. And then have Selan use the mind ring every turn (gives you access to stronger for a very reasonable amount of IP). Then you just need to hack away with Guy until he falls dead. I was ~lvl 24 when I did this I think.

  • man...this song was great you cant loose against the sinistrals with this song^^ i killed gades when i finished the game once (you get double xp if you do that so i got i high level ) and got his blade guy could hit 8 times with that thing

  • Such a great song... makes you feel like you're in a epic like battle!

  • Damm, I too cried with this piece of... art... Kick ass!

  • should i buy the first Lufia game i saw it in a local video game store near me for around $40.00

  • The first Lufia was good, but probably not worth $40

  • Who're you kidding? I'd pick it up for $40.

  • the first lufia is kinda harder :X

well, i wont buy it for $40

lufia 2 IS even more as $40

and even special editions of it (Like dutch version) complete gets you doubled up money :P

not that i would sell this game,

I NOTE THIS GAME #1 ON SNES!

  • where can i download this song :S

  • Try using Winamp to play the SPC version of it. Ask other people for details concerning the patch.

  • I remember buying this game 8-10 years ago used. This song makes me think of when I fought Gades the first time and kept getting owned. I kept resetting the game becaues I didn't know that you could lose the fight. And I was also lucky enough to play this Lufia first. Anyways, the ROM is ok, but there is nothing like playing it on the old SNES!

  • Lol, I remember that first Gades battle too. I never owned Lufia but I rented it a long time ago and got to a tower with some key... One of the things I remember about that game is the Gades fight though early in the game.

  • Yeah man, this song is amazing! It's in the top 50 of Video Games Music for sure. I love it.

It reminds me of Dragon Ball music somehow.

  • Yeah, Lufia's one of the best RPG there is.

And the music is damn awesome!

Thats the only game that made me cry at the end.

    Well...i was lot younger..

  • Great game, I didn't think it got enough credit....but then again the only played it when my dad would let me rent it from the movie store back in 1997 rofl.

  • For some reason the beginning of this reminds me of the Zone J music from Chip and Dale's rescue rangers for NES.

  • bwahaha - thought the same :d

  • I love this theme so much!

This is my Favourite game ever.

    Kudos for uploading.
