  • This is a cheap escape from the original balirena performance; Song was a small part of the original which concentrated on dance. The singer in this and other like plays cheapens the original production an mis-represents it....

  • @Delorean2244 Shut up.

  • Laurey in overalls is historically inaccurate.

  • shes wearing overalls bc she is supposed to be a tomboy...some productions dont do that...they have her in a frilly dress the whole time...thats not Laureys personality..she has a dress for the party....but yeah....we're doing this show..(im laurey) and im wearing a split skirt instead....great job!

  • dis song is 2 slow pick it up!! but gd singers!!

  • thanks everyone :) i wish we danced more but at least we got some in at the end. We costumed her according to the new hugh jackman release of the movie and went by the fact that she was a farm tom boy and would be working on the farm all day not worrying about the dance and then get ready after the girls show up.

  • its the national theatre release not hugh jackman lol

  • uhhhm my school did it this year why is she wearing overalls??????????

  • when i did Oklahoma! us girls danced at this part, it was more fun and looked better but the voice of this woman is very good =]

  • This is a fun song! Great voices and you guys make it look fun! I LOVE to sing this song!!!

  • Yes! The girls are great!, but no energy. Pick up the pace!

  • Lovely voice! A little slow though (not that that's the actress' fault!)

  • Many a New Day is what I call a petticoat dance, wherein a stageful of young women "girl talk" while prancing in petticoats. Despite strong competition--Waitin' for My Dearie from Brigadoon, To Marry in June from Seven Brides—this beats them all. But not this performance, for it's missing the key ingredient: Agnes de Mille's ballet. While I'm grateful that this video has been posted, I urge viewers to see the original movie or the DVD of the London remake, choreographed by Susan Stroman.

  • Unfortunatly with the stage version it is hard to undress the girls and re-dress in such short time, it also would be another costume for the girls a new set of the inside of the house etc all of which cost money that our school did not have

  • @paulinmaryland It's clearly stated that this was taken from a high school production, yet you are disappointed and seem to be crestfallen that it does not match up to the original movie or a professional production in London. Instead of being ridiculous you should be grateful that high schools are still producing great musicals such as Oklahoma! You're a moron. The other various complainers and nitpickers below, again, morons. Shame on you all.
