Unfortunately, he could not resist meddling in Cuba. He engineered the Bay of Pigs fiasco and presented it as a virtual fait accompli to Kennedy, who could not abandon it without seeming to be weak. Also, on January 3, 1961, with only 17 days to go in his term, he cut off diplomatic relations with Cuba, again hampering the new President's ability to deal with the situation in a reasonable manner. What was the hurry, that he had to act with his term expiring in a few days?

ähmm... ja... ich fühl mich ja geschmeichelt, aber ich habs nicht übersetzt - die untertitel waren schon da. aber ich hab mir gedacht, dass sowas wichtiges auch nicht-englisch-sprechenden verständlich anschaubar gemacht werden sollte und habs deshalb hochgeladen :)
