Chad wrote lyrics about how some girl doesn't want to date him, and about how he feels so alienated from other people and how he hates the world, and about how his heart "bleeds the darkest blood." Dude, the album is called "Heart Once Nourished with Hope and Compassion." That title sounds like a bad "emo" joke. Also, have you seen the cover to that album? Very emo.

That's bullshit. Shai Hulud isn't some sort of legendary hardcore band that's immune to criticism. They are not Discharge or Agnostic Front or DRI. No one is immune to criticism anyway. I never implied any of those bands are good. We were talking about respect. I'm not a big fan of Black Flag, Blue Cheer, or Venom, but I respect those bands for their influence on the evolution of heavy music.

It's just trivially true that disrespecting DRI and Discharge will upset way more hardcore fans than disrespecting some semi-metalcore band like Shai Hulud would. We both know that's true, whether you like those bands or not. You seem to like a lot of post-hardcore and modern stuff.
