The two are NOT mutually exclusive. With concrete floor decking, the fire was contained to several floors - the entire building was not involved in a "tremendous raging inferno". The fire personnel were operating below it. If the relatively thin floor joists separated the central columns from the exterior walls, that level will fail. They encountered fires on floor 78. That was the LOWEST floor that was affected by the impact.
So in other words they encountered the fires that blocked their way up to the higher floors (80-84) that were more impacted.

This particular group had NOT YET reached the floors where the fires were burning out of control WHEN WTC 2 collapsed. The fires were ABOVE them. Any bumbling "Truther" can verify this for themselves.
It really is a testament how desperate ae911truth and every other 9/11 Denial groups have become to have to rely on such debunked nonsense.

It is well known that the twin tower fires were absolutely incapable of even weakening their structural skeletons, but this video frames it in a very original fashion.

Sorry you fail, the south tower was impacted from floors 78 through 82, Palmer was on the 79th at last contact.He reported two isolated pockets on 78.But i am sure you know that your comment is the typical blow off with no proof, just trying to sound like an authority. This vid is at odds with (then) mayor Giulliani's testamony before the 9-11 (C)ommission hearings in New York. I atteneded and the mayor portrayed the WTC Lobby Command Post by the NYFD as a complete mishmash of nonfunctioning fire control officers. This tape also explodes that story.
When NIST presented their findings (I attended) the NIST presentors couldn't even say the time it took the towers to collapse when asked. They dismissed everything with the word 'gypsum',

Two pockets of fire on floor 78, firefighters only made it to floor 79. The building was impacted on floors 78-84. This video proves nothing about the size, scope or heat of the fires in the building. I'm no expert, but I know that flame and heat travel upward. It seems to me that the most destructive fire would be located above the floors mentioned in the video.

Video evidence shows that each "collapse" started at the point of impact. The official con-theory largely attributes collapse to fire, yet there is no substantial fire at the point of impact where collapse initiation occurs.
If the fires were more prevalent on floors above impact, one would expect collapse initiation there.
In either case, the portion above the point of collapse is incapable of crushing the remaining structure at any speed, much less that of near free-fall.

As there were only small pockets of fire below 79 how did the steel from O to 79 suffer sufficient heat damage to cause total collapse. Huge steel columns, beams and spandrels falling by gravity cant move horizontally to imbed themselves in adjacent buildings.

It is for the spirits and memories of these brave men, that the pursuit of truth and justice for the crimes of 9/11 will never die. These audio tracks prove there were no steel-weakening fires below the 75th floor. We do not know how intense the fires were above the 78th floor. Let's say VERY intense and the core severely damaged above floor 78. Fine. That explains why the top of the tower collapsed down to 78 but not why it continued, with equal ease, all the way to the ground.
