@sheemobile More to it than a dvd player. Sega had disappointed many fans on too many occasions with sega cd, 32x, mega drive, saturn.... They where releasing one console after another in just a years time. A lot of people stopped trusting Sega.
Not me thought, I stuck with them. I still play my DC.
I watched my Uncle when he had this game play it at 4. I thought it was crazy at first but I loved it more and more. I became VG junkie ever since n64 and Super Mario :)
dude i feel bad for you, I completed this game on jinkies difficulty when I was seven years old....And now im 14, I completed this game on EASY difficulty in 2 hours and 20 minutes (speedRun). and still, THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER!
Oooh I remember playing this on my dreamcast with my brother when I was 11. With teamwork, a month and several tantrums we finally finished the game i was so happy. It remains one of the best games I've ever played.
A game that lets u wield 4 guns with the same character and shoot radioactive toasts at man-eating plants? LOVE IT! Only wish more modern games tried to be as original.
Till this day i didn't find a game harder then this one maybe because i'm older now i won't find a game really hard but i did manage to finish it when i was 16 and i never touch it again. Maybe i'll give it a try again to see how good have become
I finished this on the PC back in the day when it came out. Running it on my voodoo3 3000 back in the day. Was a fun game, first one caused a bit of controversy if I remember right. Was a lot of fun and some great humour.
I can't say that interplay is a good company. But i can comment on the developer of MDK-- and thats "Shiny entertainment." They might not be known for popular MGS style games. And when it comes to graphics they are average. But the cool thing about Shiny entertainment is the president, Dave Perry. He just made me want to be a videogame programmer really bad. These are their games
I first playe MDK at school on the lab PC's. I was fairly impressed. But when I bought my first Dreamcast and this(MDK2) was included on it. I was blown away, by the graphics, gameplay even the control scheme (which was new to me) was awesome. And it had a nice bit of humor in it

lol i played MDK2 it kicked ass the scientist and his toast XD always made me lol the dog was beast i think he had 4 arms with guns if i am not mistaken and the cyborg reminded me of spawn XD
Hard??? Really??? If you've played Sly Cooper on PS2 you've got the gist of this game. The story is horrible and they threw in cheerful cartoony characters which made the game worse. Play the 1st MDK on the PC much darker, much better. I'd skip this abomination.

ohh so thats wat this game is called "MDK 2" i always tryed to remeber wat was the name of this game called eversense i stop playin my dreamcast 7 years ago...this brings back good memorys when i was a kid.
The Dreamcast failed because a bunch of Japanese faggots got the PS2 because it was the cheapest "DVD player" because DVDs didnt catch on then.
Like, fucking wow. it's a gaming console..
And this "Emotion engine" shit, yeah we know the PS2 has that GOD DAMNIT. Dreamcast had good games, PS2 had good games, a better processor doesn't necessarily mean the competitor still can't make good games.
@themangodess actually the ps2 was technically inferior because of its video memory was half what dreamcast had so it real wouldn't have mattered how technologically superior the rest of the system was it was choked by its 4mb video memory. With the Dreamcast having 8mb video memory it was really hard for the ps2 hardware to handle free roaming 3d envioroments.
@Nightninja217 dude the ps2 has 32mb unified ram that can be used as both system ram and video ram and the developers were able to split it however they wanted. The dreamcast had 16mb system ram and 8mb video ram. The ps2 was superior in this area, and most others. But don't get me wrong, i love the dreamcast and had more fun on it that any other console.
This is not quite correct, the system ram in the ps2 can only be used as video ram for off-screen materials, so it has limited use. dreamcast would actually only draw what was shown on the screen, having another edge over ps2.. as well as twice the amount of video ram + texture compression.
This was actually the game that convinced me that the Dreamcast was a better console than the PlayStation 2. I played MDK2: Armageddon for the PS2 and MDK2 for the DC. The DC version had less aliased models and crisper graphics. The DC also has more processing power, giving it a superior framerate as well.
Yes, but the PS2s hardware was not being fully utilized at the time. Additionally, the PS2 has always had some noticeable aliasing problems on lower resolution displays. The Dreamcast had an active antialiasing program running on most, if not all of their software from launch to crash. Power is nothing if the developer can't work it properly. Just look at the difference between Dragoneer's Aria and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops on the PSP. The PS2 is much more difficult to program for.
Both the DC and PS2 were 128 bit systems...the only thing the PS2 had a advantage in was the DVD format. The DVD carry way more data than the Dreamcast's GD-ROM...do more research man.

i miss dreamcast with a passion. consoles today seem to focus more on franchises and features then games that actually have originality. Dreamcast was AHEAD of its time with its incredibly original games like mdk and sonic adventure(today sonic sucks)never again will there be a console like this. we miss u dreamcast:(
i miss my dreamcast when i first got my dreamcast...it came with with a demo disk and it had this game...it was awseome...and then i bought this game from my cuzin but the ps2 version of mdk 2 tho and i agree with u its hard i miss my dr
Great game, btw when you reach Zizzi/y Balooba (Last Boss) he start talking: "Max, Doctor, Kurt! I c..." when I've heard this it gives idea that MDK isn't "murder death kill" but "Max Doctor Kurt" it looks like perfect theory but after few second I've figured out that can't be true. And here's question for you MDK series fans: can you figure out why? Answer has 4 hands.

i miss dreamcast with a passion. consoles today seem to focus more on franchises and features then games that actually have originality. Dreamcast was AHEAD of its time with its incredibly original games like mdk and sonic adventure(today sonic sucks)never again will there be a console like this. we miss u dreamcast:(

How come the host didn't mention that the game was originally made by BioWare?

Totally wrong dude....its was first a psOne release then they made it for the PC and this masterpiece (MDK2) was for Dreamcast only !!! So SEGA come back and make a really cool console (PS3 and WII suck like hell) !!!!
