  • i <3 this movie. its so touching.

  • Aw! The teacher is so sweet. She should have told him in the end, like in the book, instead of her negligent, unobservant mother. This whole scene made me tear up though. :'(

  • How dare he lay a finger on that beautiful and talented actress?!

  • aww what happened to her telling mr freeman?? :c

  • this movie made me cry once more :x

  • I think that was the first time she smiled this entire movie. That. Was. Amazing.

  • what is the book called?????? :)

  • @Daysfan541 Uhh "Speak" Lol

  • nice hope girls are understand & save life with boys. Aamin..

  • @fallingdown18 yes,it's cute.

  • Oh my god..Kristen is amazing,she`s a great actress!!!

  • @Vikulyaration You bet she is, and so beautiful.

  • i like twisted better

  • I like this ending better because in the book she told her art teacher.

  • @MissGoGetta96 Me too. But only b/c in the movie, the parents r much nicer. In the book, they were mean and pretty dark, especially the mom so of course she told the adult she trusted most, which was the art teacher. I personally like the book version of the art teacher more, for some reason, I didn't like the acting from this guy =[

  • I love how when she gets attacked again and Mr. Neck is walking past and he actually sounds CONCERNED about her when he asks, "What happened? Melinda?" The rest of the movie he acts like he hates her, but he really does care about her, I guess. :) It's good to see that side of him.

  • @13evertomorrow no he never really cared. he saw her as a problem. hes only concerned when he sees her face cut up and a commotion going on down the hall, as any teacher would be. im sure he realizes that he shouldnt have acted like such a dick.

  • @ThisSceneChickRoxx well, yeah, I'm not saying he cared the entire time. Just at the end. I thought it was cool was all. And YEAH he definitely should have realized that!!!

  • @13evertomorrow wow-no-thats-stupid

  • It should of had a better ending :)

  • stupid ending

  • Outstanding film. Specially Kristen is the best.

  • I want my daughter watch these movie!!!! I brought for her book but she could not finish or may be it was too early !!! It s better to know so hard situation from books then in real life !!! Girls take care WE love you so much!!!! Sorry my perfect English!

  • The bad guy named Evans is supposed to be dead in the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Plovdivsko

    really? how??

  • @RpattzandKstew

He raped the girl. The girl should of stabbed him really hard.

  • COMMON girl, KILL HIM with a knife. STABB HIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. And tell him: Bye, bye fucker, time to go to hell so that you get some shit to pay for what you did. And his dead body, give it to the dogs to eat it. Mother fucker, why would he rape the beautiful girl. If I was there, I would protect the girl. I hope you go to hell you fucking son of a bitch in the movie.

  • I thought Kristen was amazing, no-one should avoid this movie just because they don't like Twilight. That's not fair. I cried throughout this and was so heartbroken for Melinda, it just shows you how cruel and sick people can be. Kristen did so well, fantastic acting on her part.

  • The Movie Was Goodd ( :

  • I can relate 2 that movie..

  • If my friend told me she was raped I would, in a calm tone, ask who did it, give her a hug, find him and gut him like a fish. I can't imagine if I found out my child was raped. All hell would've simply broken loose.

  • so what would happen if this really happened?

    would anyone care?

what if you thought you wanted the sex but then think that you didn't and he didn't listen.

    is that rape?

    is that worth listening?

    is anything worth listening?

  • @slover14 yes it's rape. you are allowed to change your mind and yes it's worth listening.

  • @slover14 yes it would be rape and very worth listening to. majority things in the world are but most people dont make it sound like it

  • did andy evans go blind??? or did he go to jail??? or anything??? i wonder....

  • @Sylvanyicool in the book melinda didn't hurt his eyes in any way.

  • Best Part, SAY SOMETHING ASSHOLE! hahaha

  • The book was more intense.

  • The book was more intense

  • It must be hard for a mother to hear tht their daughter got rapped

  • love dis mobie

  • This movie is amazing .... i've read the book , it is much better ....

  • do you men even know (or care)what you leave behind!? i remember that feeling, 4:49-5:10

  • This Movie i s so good But the book is bettah alot of curse words

  • ...I felt that this book has put a lot into my mind...I know now that...well...I am a teenager and I have learned from it...

  • @legion160

omg are you fucking serious...she was NOT drinking it was made clear numb nut.

your mind is twisted and demented you need help, serious help before you rape someone or beat a girl. fuck you legion...thats my opinion...-flicks legion off-

  • @psoreiko1990 Actually she did. I don't remember about the movie, but in the book she had around 3 beers. Not drunk, but was described as being buzzed and having cloudy and forgetful thinking.

  • @legion160 did you even watch the film? read the book? She said no she screamed she fought to push him off. If a girl says no it means no. Even if she had been drunk, which she wasn't, she still has the right to say no to sex. He held her down with his hand over her mouth and raped her.

Have you ever met someone who has been raped? seen how it has ruined their life, made even worse by people like you.

I hope that you never find yourself drunk, or sober, with someone who doesnt understand no.

  • @legion160 Ok I see your point but...no. Rape and getting beat up are both wrong no matter if people are just trying to "even the score".

  • Aww! This movie was so good!! I love the book too! The ending for some reason was emotinal.. how she finally ended up saying something. Greatest book ever.

  • I loved how Andy ended up being the one who couldn't speak. :D People are finally yelling "Say something!" at someone else.

  • the book is way better :)

  • @FOREVERdopes They did really good on the movie though, they are almost exactly alike. I liked the book too.

  • Can't believe he had the nerve to attack her again, he so got what he deserved, and thought he deserved being pittied after she through bleach in his eyes!

  • I'm not really sure i liked it. I mean i read the book and it was awesome and i loved it. But the film just seemed to kind of miss a lot out and change a lot of things. It was ok but i would have prefered it if they had made it more like the book. Just my oppinion though.

  • now the dam teacher cares

  • urgh, gosh, thats blake livelys brother! andy evans ech

  • incredibly good movie!

  • I felt soooo relieved when they found her with him in that closet andi wanted to cry so badly when she told her mother

  • lollll 1:48

  • i honestly dont understand this movie :/

  • How old was Kriisten when she played in this film.?

  • @Izabela111666

    13 or 14

  • Since I read the book and then watched the movie parts of the movie frustrates me. The people who made the movie did a better job than most people do when making movie that are based on books. Overall the movie was good.

  • I haven't seen all parts of the film. But Kristen Steward looks very strange.

  • they made the part when Andy comes to face Melinda in the end like he was trying to beat her up for spreading that "he raped her"... but actually, according to the book, he was trying to rape her again in the end. Very good movie though in compared to the book..nice job.

  • i want to read the book!

  • @HLSBabii the movie is surprisingly just like the book.

  • @2crazii2wackii uh, no it's not. there were alot of scenes that never happened and major things were left out.

  • love this movie

  • It was so touching... Amazing movie..it made me cry.I was like crying the whole time, coz in the beginning it was like her mother doesn't talk to her, no one wants to talk to her...aw.made me love kstew more..

  • the scene where she throws the bleach in his face is hilarious best movie ever!!!

  • man this movie is so touching! i love it! Kristen rocks!

  • So, is Andy Evans blind now?

  • 1st time i watched this i thought it was so sad, now 2nd time im sat crying my eyes out as it makes me think of myself. my ex groped me and tried to strip me and get me to have sex, luckly i broke up with him before it got any worse . . . i havent slept properly in 8weeks lost 2 of my best mates becasue of the lies hes told one of them, ive almost been beaten up at school by people 2ish years older then me, and i distroyed my arm and part my leg. if anything like this happens to you get plz help

  • The book and movie are just amazing! Kristen Stewart did an awesome job! :) Every time I finish watching this movie I want to paint haha

  • this was , by far the most amazing movie i have ever seen.

the first movie i cried my eyes out .

and i really hope this movie helps the young girls out there .. not as lucky as the rest...

  • they should hold him down spread his legs open and smash his testicles with their hockey sticks until they are mush

  • I love this movie and Kristen Stewart but I never saw twilight

  • @voltairex999 you dont wanna

  • how old is andy in this

  • @indiaee1 I think 12th grade and I heard he was 18. So yea he would go to jail if there was proof.

  • @MrCrayonInk95 which there's no poof ,is there?

  • ok,is this the end?? I really liked it!!

  • i think he sould have got worse

  • In Anderson's 2002 novel Catalyst, Melinda appears for a few pages, now in tenth grade. When a fellow student has a mental breakdown, she counsels her and helps her through the rough patch. It is stated that Melindas rapist, Andy, is found guilty but does not go to jail; instead, he is sentenced to probation and has to register as a sex offender.

  • the other girls should of have beat him with the hockey sticks. he is out of line. poor girl.

  • FANTASTIC MOVIE!!!!! I LOVE IT(:

  • haha!! I loved the field hockey team in this part they were bout ready to kill Andy lolz

  • awesome movie, very sad. i know what book i will be reading next!

  • wow, this was a really good movie!

didn't read the book, but i'm sure it's good too

  • I love how now everyone knew what he did to her; they know what a monster he is. I wish that they would have beaten him up, but Melinda pretty much did that. ^^

  • that was soooo good. i usually dont like kristin in movies, but i like her in this. i like her as a person not an actress. loved this movie tho.

  • omg omg omg amazing

  • "SAY SOMETHING ASSHOLE!!"

lol, love it and this movie. :)

  • oh my gosh i almost cried.....it was the best movie ever though......im reading the book but i alredy knew what had happend to her so i didnt spoil it.......i wish the hokey team would have hit him in the movie....:).....ha ha ha

  • Good movie. Very impressed with Kristen Stewart.

  • i really liked this it was awesome

  • very beautiful, i'm still crying

  • Very good movie

  • This movie is sooo awesome

i loved it im reading thee book right now.. kinda killed it for myself but it more detailed so im really gonna finish it awesome movie

  • i dont like the mom, shes not really their to support her duaghter.

  • i have to say, this is the only comment page i've seen so far on youtube, where everyone is agreeing with each other and not insulting eachother out of pure boredom.

  • @Afinemystery what'd you say about my mother?!

  • @SophieSomeday wtf u on about?!

  • @Afinemystery it was meant to be a joke. you were sayin smthin about how everyone wasnt arguing so...

  • @SophieSomeday Oh, I'm sorry. Lol, thats actually quite funny.... something I would've done too xD I just didn't remember posting that comment. xD

  • i read the book and i have to say this movie did a really good job keeping th eplot as accurate as possible.they changed a few things but nothing major. in the ending i cried the sense of triumph in melinda is just so overwhelming

  • She finally speaks!

Great movie. Kristen played the role very persuasive!

  • thanks for uploading. great plot!

  • ok. i read the book and for some odd reason, i really didn't like it. it's strange cuz i loved the other books that laurie halse anderson wrote. but the movie made me like the story better.

  • I like the end but I would like to see that nice boy (not the ass hole) kiss her and tell her everything was ok now. ^_^

  • i LOVE this movie!!!! the book was awesome!!!!

  • what is the book and author?

  • The Book is Called Speak and the Aurthor is ?

  • the author is laurie halse anderson

  • @ilovecoolcolors the author is Laurie Halse Anderson

  • GREATEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Starfire527 good but i wouldnt go that far LOL

  • @ langstonwilde25

I like when her mom says, "Well, you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."

In "Twisted," the author wrote that Melinda tried to prosecute Andy in court, but that he wasn't punished. My guess is that they had to let him go because Melinda didn't go to the hospital and have a rape exam immediately after she was raped.

  • i thought it said he was punished and it was in the book Catalyst

  • haha the art teacher is so awsome

  • BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!! It was sad, intense, and the ending made me smile when the girls field hockey team was ready to beat him up. I love this movie and I am defantly going to read the book. :))))

  • The Book is awesome i love it we are reading it in english and its the best i loveee it

  • @addwemyss23 the book is really good my book club at school recently read it and I loved it and had to see the movie I know you'll enjoy it. ^_^

  • @addwemyss23 Yes, you definitely should. I read the book first and thought that the movie was a horrible adaptation. But that's just my opinion.

  • @addwemyss23 You should read the book its a lot more intense

  • This was brilliant. Ive havent seen any of Kristen Stewart's films other than twilight and new moon and this is soooo different. Anyone who says she cant act needs to see this - its amazing!

  • every time i watch this I get so mad I can't believe people actualy do that I just want to go to a rapist and rip hip dick off or cut her trote

  • what a beautiful movie, I wish I could read the book first.

  • I love this movie and I feel realy bad for Melinda.

  • yes...she's soo young there...!

I ♥♥ loove kristen soo much!!!

  • I gotta say i've read only part of the book and was only going to watch up till i had gotten, but it drew me in... i cried, i giggled i smiled. absolutally amazing

  • Kristin Stewart performance is amazing and she she was so young here.

  • I cry..

    This movie is amazing!

    I love kristen stewart!

    ..wow

  • i really love this movie:). really good. And i really like Kristen:). i have see 7 or 8 movies with her,and she is AMAZING:). Chesterlover98 midland Texas i think.

  • where does this take place, like what state?

  • @ chesterluver98

"The novel takes place in Syracuse, New York, the [author's] hometown. The film mentions the story taking place somewhere in the Midwest." We know that the film can't be set in Ohio because Heather says that she's from Ohio.

  • i wanna cry... this movie is awsome!

    i love kristen stewart!

  • i really like this movie and that girl, played melinda so awsome ; )

    WOW!!!

  • Amazing movie

  • wow what an awesome movie...lol you wouldn't believe me but i am actually crying. this movie is one of the best i have seen. it touched me.

    ;)

  • I would have brought a glock and hid it in that room the shot him in the dick not nick but he woul have gothis comupience

    ; D

  • should of killed him

  • I enjoy imagining what Mr. Neck might've done to Andy, after the girls told him what he'd done to Melinda, that he could've raped her if they hadn't appeared: I imagine that he might've hauled him to the principal's office by his ears or gripped him harder than he'd done to Melinda.

  • I still think the ending couldve been a lil bit better. I dont get why they didnt just show what she was saying to her mom about what happened.

  • I would have liked that too, but she would be saying what we already know so there wouldn't be a point in it unless they gave her mom's reaction.

  • I thought the same thing when I saw this. I like that they faded out her telling her mom the story...but I would have loved to see the mother's reaction..the shock, the hurt, the sadness..just seeing tears in her eyes and her covering her month with her hands. then after melinda is done telling her story..the mother just breaks down and hugs her while crying.

  • This is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and the best book I've ever read. It made me cry; it touched me on so many levels.

  • I think they should show this movie in the schools, especially high school, it's important and I think it could really get through to the teens today.

  • yes it is. in most highschools you have to read this book for engish i think. i think she did a wonderful job and i think that i see more of her a an actress now then i did before, one of her best preformences and i hope that she does more like this and less like Twilight. Good Job Kristen

  • To be honest I liked this version better than the book and I read the book first! =)

  • WOW...- it is the word this film left me with. It is such an important topic and shouldn't be a taboo,. Well done Kristen!

  • @ elskerikke

I agree; I was surprised that a few school districts banned the book because they thought students would be scared.

  • @snivellusfriend

Yes indeed, even though if some pupils got scared of the book, it is something which is a very common fact today.. And after all how would we feel after being raped? This movie has definately influenced me a lot..

  • Thank you for the movie!.. Kristen stewart was so perfect and unique.. This is so serious subject.. Thanks you, Kristen!

  • Kristen Stewart is great in this movie. One of her best performances.

  • I also have to read this book and I also hav already read it. I'm a little sad that the movie isn't the way how the book describes it.

    The book is much better.

  • im reading this book in class i like it :] but the book is wayyyy better than the movie

  • So sad I cried loads lol. Does any one know what the book is called and who is it by

  • name of the book is "Speak", I'm not sure who the author is...

  • The name of the book is called, "Speak" and the author is Laurie Hasle Anderson. She was also in this film-She was the lunch lady who put mashed potatoes on Melinda's plate.

  • It's also called "Speak" and it's by Laurie Halse Anderson

  • anyone know where I could get the soundtrack the music in the end is soooo moving...

  • Laurie Hasle Anderson's

  • since today, i have never heard of this movie or the fact that it is originally a book. who is the author?

  • I bet Andy raped her and treated the girls the way he did because he was raped, himself: The girl asked him why he was the way he was, "What the hell is wrong with you?...Answer me!" and he didn't answer; He was silent, exactly like Melinda was.
