Nice opening to the video! That was my grandpa!!! Me and my dad were the ground-crew. It was his last jump due to a paragliding accident a week after. He's just fine right now but he promised not to jump again. :( this is funny because my other grandpa was driving the ambulence!
I have been going to this parade for the last 9 years and it has always been this way. Every year I think the officials might do something to curb this problem, but they have not. I will not be attending in the future, until everyone can contain themselves so that we can all see the parade.
After watching this video, I also find it very disturbing! seeing those kids so close to vehicles. the one little girl almost ran right out into the traffic. this is ridiculous. in one scene it almost looked like there wasn't enough room for the marching band to get through!
Notice the parade watchers at the start... it is calm and people are back at the Curb.
46 seconds into the parade once things start getting thrown people start to ignore police, and city workers, volunteers and parents. The solution is to not throw anything from the entry but have each entry designate a person to walk next to the curb and pass things out.

I guess those vehicles are moving too fast and the kids can't get out of the way. EXTREME SARCASM
