  • I have yet to come across a band that can improvise better than Amon Duul II

  • Man, when Germans put their mind on something they can fucking do anything!

    Fucking awesome!

  • The singer looks a little bit like Lemmy from Motorhead.

  • German racket, I love it.

  • this is impossibly cool

  • My favorite part is where he sings about ...'hobbits will nibble my penis...'

  • Awesome upload! Thank you!

  • Fall to your knees in the presence of the kings of Krautrock!

I think my brain just exploded...

  • definetely no commercial bulls... thnx vry mch

  • the two first lines are: over the airbourne, under the sea, above the skies, beneath the trees or some :)

  • The best verison of this song is on the "Live in London" LP. Really.

  • @timewind76 Another "Word".

  • @timewind76 I must say that I think this version is better than on the Live in London. However, what a fantastic record! the version of Soap Shop Opera is hauntingly powerful!

  • To waylo:

Of course! Why shouldn't it be, when it's all about bewildering sovereigns?

  • Yesyesyes!!!!

  • Ok now I understand, It's the instrument. I have seen many bassists using that same Orange amp/cab used in this video, but they don't have that deep/warm/fat bass tone...so it must be the vintage Jazz Bass (pickups/capacitors).

  • German Heavy Psych monster

  • this is a monster of a song!

  • ahahahahha... indeed.. same situation with me!!!! :D

    INevertheless...t is never to late...

  • How did I miss out on this stuff all these years?

    Awesome music!

  • i don know why i find the guitar melodies on PHALLUS DEI to be darker and scarier than Black Sabbath... luzifers ghilom and kanaan... its better than havin any drug even!

  • im sick of sabbath and all the satan crap it got old to me

  • I love the version on "Yeti" but this live one is even better - far more aggressive and visceral. Wish I'd been old enough to catch them live back in their heyday.

  • Ho la vache !!!

  • What a trip!

  • RIP Pete Leopold

  • fucking ill

  • My favorite track on Yeti. It feels so damn epic, vast and mystical with a touch of despair. Kick-ass upload man

  • Exactly how I would describe it man!

  • @zfatalismz Word.

  • man this is tripped out music i love it

  • uuee, jeeegahh!(and we scream, or not....

  • seems like someone doesnt "get it"

  • Does anybody know or understand the lyrics? Can't find them anywhere and I just understand some snippets.

  • it's afaik a funny mixture between nonsens and fantasy-language =)

  • and genius, thanks for posting this

  • you're welcome

  • i always thot they sang in german bcuz there from there. infact most amon duul songs are sung in german. for the exception of "wolf city" and prob others that have lyrics in english.

  • wolf city is one of there albums

  • ya dude your right. im dumb for saying that. thanks for clearing that up for me. almost all there songs are in english. my bad.

  • Hey, no problem. No need to apologise :)

  • @ZosoDazed here's what i could get after listening to the Live in london recording:

over the air, under the sea, above the sky, between the trees

beyond the street, in the middle of the new moonrise

it's flying now- the nocturnal beast

as a child i used to go to the churches of (?) dreams

but now i know i have to see my (?) dreams

    (?) don't ride again

empty ariser, you were a (?)

That's all I could get, but at least its something!

  • Very Very cool I never thought I`d see that

is there more of that gig?

  • yeah dude that was wicked. man listen to those fuckin drums man, amon duul II are trippy as fuck. smoke weed.

  • The couplet, "I have to pee/MICROWAAAAVE-UH!" at 2:10 cannot be classified as anything but poetry,

  • xD didn't notice that...

  • @dbmayne

Ha ha - yes! Chris Karrer is MENTAL!

  • @dbmayne THAT was hilarious! Now I think I know where Spongbob Squarepants dialogue coms from.

  • @Squidly78 sponge bob. great source of your information .. wtg keep it up

  • @dbmayne Its genious only the duul could come up with

  • @dbmayne - it's "i have to keep...myself at the table"

  • Wow, comparing ADii to the Butthole Surfers is something akin to comparing Hootie with the Beatles. Dude!!!

  • You just blew my mind.

  • Brilliant. Sounds like The Butthole Surfers!

  • the live versions brake down is so much better then the album version. the bass lines are so sweet. but i do miss the crazy distorted vocals from the album version.

  • Amon Düül II is a brilliant band, unfortunately quite under-rated. This track is just pure power and energy from their album Yeti.

  • thanks for putting this back up! I saw it a while back but was very sad when it was taken down :(

  • amon düül II = god

  • ...üüber-god... =)
