Oh and there is an additional kicker.. WH has a "living campaign" so you can get some quite a few free adventures for the game.. the interesting thing is that the campaign did jump between the US and Europe quite a bit....
Also they have a new book out on the Aztec Empire (Which never fell in this timeline) SICK SICK SICK book..
Hey Kurt, Just a short Quiz: I know your in to Savage World: Solomon Kaine, and the Rippers, and I get the feel that this is "Witch Hunter" are very much like those games. But of case they are set in America. My Quiz: Do I realy need this game if Im like you, in to Savage World and have the both games named above? What makes this game better/diffrent/Cooler? Realy like your Show//Swedish GM
@Ocannae Good Question. In my take, WH is more like The Seventh Seal (older christian apacolypse game which conceptuially I LOVE, but is lacking in mechnical execution- and I'm not sure but they may have had the same artists, now that I think about it) ) than it is SK. Savage Worlds has a much more tactical feel to it than WH does. If you relly want comparison, I'd say is closer to The Old World of Darkness Dark Ages Inquisitor than either SK or Rippers.
@Ocannae The big difference is the story behind the game... simply the fact that the Roman Catholic Church is actively hunting down Witch Hunters is a nice change of taste, the sects don't always play nice together, and the added kick that the adversary (the devil) shows up in a some of the most unexpected places. Hell when you read it you get the idea that some of the WH secs may not be doing the work of god like they think they are....
The setting looks good, but the art direction is horrible! It should have had a dark, "sleepy hollow-ish" feel and they went with Van Helsing....would have been better to go dark instead of comic book in terms of atmosphere
@BanjoSick Yeah its a bit true, I was struck by much the same thing, something like a cross between Solomon Kane and Pinnacle's rippers setting (especially the monster-fighting clans).
Well, maybe not terribly original, but I am interested in hearing more about this system. I've always though well of systems that fade out of the play.
@Broyale26 D20 Modern would likely be the only one. Even that one has elements of the supernatural, but they're more optional. Sci-fi and the supernatural are integral parts of an rpg, so unless you're trying to play something like Accountents & Adjusters, there's not really a lot out there that doesn't feature them.
@Broyale26 D20 Modern would likely be the only one. Even that one has elements of the supernatural, but they're more optional. Top Secret is an old spy movie game, and the James Bond game (if you can find either of these anymore) would likely qualify for what you want. @Broyale26 There's the 'Leverage' game, based on the TV show. Also 'Spycraft' for fans of Spy Fiction. There's always been games that have designs based on Warfare of various sorts (WWII, Modern Warfare etc.) and also generic systems that have supplement/setting books for such. Then there are the Martial Arts genre books, both realistic an cinematic, a number of detective fiction games (CSI or Hardboiled, both styles are represented), Historical period settings etc.
@Broyale26 Technically, the vanilla World of Darkness game can be played without supernatural elements; the real evil in the game could be the evil inside peoples' hearts ;)
I got to play through the free modules that they gave out for the game. I had a lot of fun in the campaign. It was fun having a bunch of characters with different European backgrounds and from the different countries. In our game it was fun to have characters that couldn't speak the language of all the other characters so we had to have translators in the group.
For a fan of white-wolf's hunter and inquisitor, this might fill in the era that was left out nicely! But it's more "high fantasy" with lots of magic and stuff you say?

Are there any good rpg games that don't deal with sci-fi or the supernatural?

0o0 looks like I found a new game. I love the idea of a colonial witch trials setting.

This game looks pretty awesome! If nothing else I could convert it to GURPS!
