The motor is not from the touring Valkyrie, but originally from the Goldwing.

It is a big 6 cylinder liquid cooled 1500 engine - similar to the honda car engines. The made it originally for their touring Valkyrie which failed and now they try to use in the street cruiser Rune which is a bigger failure. I think it gets about 25 miles per gallon in gas. They ride smooth on the highway, handle okay for a bike of that size in turns, but overall sales have hurt Honda and the Rune like it's brother (Valkyrie) are as good as gone forever.

You are obviously misinformed about the Rune....Its an 1832 engine and was never meant to be a cash crop for Honda, they never advertised it so how do you claim it to be a bad venture for Honda? They only made 2000 units so how do you figure it Hurt Honda? The bike was made to show the custom bike world what it can do...Never meant to be a money maker but a statement maker..And it was a success...

Look up the history of the Valkyrie engine and check it out for yourself. Honda didn't manufacture anything to take a loss, even if that is what some salesman told you so. I am one of the w that like the Rune and Valkyrie, both unigue but both failures with the public. The CC's grew a little in the Rune but the engine design concept is the same for both.

No, but you can still purchase a new one that has been stored. Ebay or CycleTrader may be good options. I own a Rune and it was well worth the investment.
