@pettyofficer30 sorry buddy, but when your in public, there is no expectation of privacy. Police officers are PUBLIC servants, paid for by citizens. So, when your in public, no matter who you work for, you can/will/may be recorded and it's completley legal, as long as your not interferring, which this guy clearly is not.

Holy smokes, this cop is extraordinarily tolerant and patient. He could easily have arrested you and sorted it out at the police precinct.

If you were certain you were right and he was wrong you could have simply stated that you believed that your understanding of the law was correct and that his was incorrect and that you were going to continue to do what you had been doing, understanding that if you were wrong you would be arrested.

@andysheepleton You're exactly right. And that's the problem -- a police officer for almost any reason can arrest any citizen that he doesn't like and throw him in jail.

If the charge is not valid, you'll get out & then he can do it again. Currently, there's almost no check on police conduct.
