One big reason for that is they are a small island nation. Therefore historically they have a longing & yarning for cultures of overseas. Despite of the fact, in Japanese media, informations about America are flooded, most of Japanese do not know anything about realities of U.S. because media keeps feeding them only extream images, either super glomourous or super shocking. Multiculturism is not about seeing the difference in culture but the opposite not seeing the difference cause all cultures are equal, and if you a difference that racist or intolerant. Thats why its doomed to fail cause youre living a dream you believe in something that doesnt exist cause there is for definite a difference in cultures socially and politically have you ever been in Europe like Sweden France internal social strife, more crime more people that don't care about society
no if your culture is equal to that lets say Korean then there is no difference hence its equal that's the way of multiculturalism,
if you say there is a massive difference in culture A and by that can't really function or will be a problem in society with culture B, making comments like that is racist or intolerant by the multicultural political correct here
and that's why multiculturalism is a denial of reality like communism it looks good on paper but in practise its a disaster
one example we had here was these Arabs had this yearly celebration where they sliced the neck of a cheep and let it bleed to dead now they do this communal and by law here you may not butcher animals outside a butcher house and you only may execute animals in a specific way described by law which is a quick dead but they just ignore it and kill the cheep on the street and flesh and blood streamed like a river on the street which was pretty disgusting but they didn't do shit to stop it
since it would be un-multicultural and racist to deny what they call a "happy" celebration since their culture is equal to us and there is no difference between us and them was the explanation by the political correct
笑 All I'm saying is I think it's important to recognize the existence of other cultures outside our own, and to appreciate their unique qualities and differences. I would consider that the complete antithesis of racism. 笑
