THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. I decided to go outside of the tutorials I was already learning, and not one mentioned the full 360 turn. NOW I CAN DO IT :3 Thank you! c:
I have a question for you: When I am doing the three beat, I start out going in reverse (because I'm weaker in reverse than in forward three beat), and I can turn and transition into forward beautifully, it's no problem. However, getting back into reverse is proving to be awkward and a little painful with the amount of times I've whacked myself in the head! Any suggestions?
@Nyiera The fact that you can do it from reverse to forwards shows me that there shouldn't be a problem with your skills, you just need to keep practicing. Remember to keep good planes and try to be aware of where your poi are at all times, that should help to not hit yourself. If you're still having trouble, just break it down one step at a time as shown in the video, good luck.
I remember seeiung this a long time ago (6 months) thinking omg no way...Now I am able to do it in both directions freely along with some other starting to look nice flower configurations
When you do a 180 degree turn, the poi will change from forwards to reverse, or vice versa. If you're doing a 360 degree turn, it depends on whether you're doing a full spin without there being any beats on the other side, or whether you are simply linking two 180 turns together. If it's two 180 turns, you'll go from forwards, to reverse, then back to forwards again, however, if it's a 360 spin, you'll essentially be bypassing the beats on the opposite side, so it'll stay in forwards.
thanks, I was trying to alternate between forward and backward which was either forcing me to do two 180 turns just to get my brain on track, or causing me to hit myself in the face if I tried to do a complete 360!
just knowing that they were supposed to stay forward helped me along and I as able to do a full spin (but only one way thus far)!
thanks alot bud...good tutorial...I just started to poi and sock poi and I just love it...but it takes time to learn alot of moves...got a few down...not many though...still working on it...
Got a question if you don't mind. I started glowsticking two nights ago... and a reaverse 3 beat weave is when the right hand goes over than under the left hand on the left plane and back to the right side, right? and the left hand does the left plane, right plane left plane thing? Did I start on the reverse weave instead of the forward? o_O
No, of course I don't mind. It sounds like you've got the two confused. If the right hand is going over the left, then under the left on the left hand side, before going to the right hand side, it sounds like the forwards 3 beat to me. Reverse is the opposite, right hand going under, then to the left side, then the left going under the right before going to the left... uh, obviously kinda hard to describe in words, so many lefts and rights... I hope I've helped, but if not, feel free to ask more

when turning in 360 are you still alternating between forward and reverse 3 beat? it seems to go much more smoothly when you do it than when I try!!
