Orig. Auspuffanlage mit Gusskrümmern usw.

Hab einfach die Endschalldämpfer durch Edelstahl-Rohre ersetzt.

Mitteldämpfer sind orignal (würd ich auch nicht ändern weils sonst unerträglich laut wird)

Aber du musst bedenken, dass der 428er völlig anders klingt als der 390er.

428 hatte andere Zyl. köpfe, schärfere Nockenwelle usw. vom Werk aus.

Also wenn deiner ein 390er sein sollte klingt er wahrscheinlich dann so sie mein 64er im anderen Vid. Hat die selben Änderungen ;)

I had one of these. It got rearended by a bridge so I took the 428 out and sold the rest fo $50.

@kgrubb2693 sorry to say yes it was true. the guy I got it from backed into a bridge and dinged it badly. back in the days they were plenty and not many had the foresight to keep or collect them. Just one of those things.

Always wanted a bird.  Found a '60 turqoise one near my place sitting....has the 430 in it. I'm gonna see if he will take my rust-bucket '66 Merc S-55 Convertible off my hands as trade. Less than 700 built but it's such a project.

@Salesman '66 was the only year the taillights went wall to wall. The '64-'65s were rectangular with a chrome emblem in the center. The back-up light on the '66 also glows red when the parking/headlights are on. There are 3 extra bulbs behind the white lens that are encased in red lenses much like the '64 Cadillacs used.

It's a toss up between a '69 Torino 428CJ and a '65 Galaxie 7-liter. I'd really love to own one some day...
