  • Hang in there, man. It gets better. I went through this EXACT thing a few months ago and, in some ways, still am. The irony of it is that you've wanted to be seen as male for so long and now that you're actually seen that way, it's not how you imagined it. At least that's how it was for me. Girls look at you like you're "just some guy," that your opinions don't really matter, and exclude you from their daily activities. It can be hard, but you'll find your place. Stick it out. Good luck!

  • @Bourne2bwild1989 I'm lookin for the place lol I dont know if it gets better or if I just get stronger, either way sounds good. Good luck to u too, stay connected.

  • @MrRamijames - I think it's a little bit of both. It takes a strong person to transition and deal with all that we have to deal with. But it gets easier when you start becoming 'James, the guy' instead of 'James, the transman.' It's really nice to just be recognized as male and no one ever second guesses it. When I was younger I wanted to stand out and be different. Now, more than anything, I just want to blend in like every other 20-something college student. :)

  • @Bourne2bwild1989 - Because, like you said, it's hard to live in the middle. Unfortunately, society makes you feel like you have to choose one gender or the other. We, however, know it's not that simple and that gender isn't binary like so many may think.

  • remember james, leave what you like and leave the rest. i do not go to AA regularly, just when i need it, and that's totally okay. i have tons of other support systems in my life that keep me afloat. i too feel that some of my addiction is due to dysphoria, so i allow myself freedom from the program but i do not use, ever, period. i believe if you ever said you are an alcoholic/addict, you cannot ever use again. only you know what is best for you. recreate your space. you deserve it as a male.

  • @Zedie36 thanks Ami, I really feel like I'm asking questions and all anybody here can give me is the slogan answer. I can tell they are just thinking of their answer before my question comes out, not listening to me at all. I really appreciate your perspective, advice and support, I really need it man.
