@bbfreak101 Good luck with that. It's easier to tip over a Subaru Outback. The Tango has a better rollover threshold and weighs more than the Outback.
Wow. That little car costs more than my house. Then again, the first gasoline cars probably also cost more than the average home. Even after 100 years of mass production, I still can't afford a new one of those. No Tango for me!
@ions82 The price is wrong but the concept is great! We just need great ideas like this to get financed so they can be brought to market at a reasonable price.
the price will never come down unless wealthy early adopters can be persuaded to buy it. Which they won't, because they are for the most part style obsessives who won't buy a car that looks like a wedge of cheese
what are the odds of that happening by chance.. : )
also looks like there is plenty of room for a bit wider wheel stance so it could use lower mass lithium keel thus increasing the efficiency greatly and reducing the cost.
even if this is mass produced it will be an expensive car because it needs a strong drivetrain to push all that mass. so something's gotta give or it will never be more than the 11 that exist today
cool. i'm waiting... the whole world is waiting... oil soaked muskrats in michigan, oil soaked dolphins and beaches in the gulf of mexico, natural gas in drinking water, and the dirtiest of all energy, coal.
bah humbug to the naysayers, we've been listening to those idiots forever, go swim in the gulf losers.
Some people might like to split lanes like a motorcycle instead of sitting in traffic spending 2 hours to go 30 miles on an Los Angeles 5-lane freeway, yet don't want to give up the comfort and safety of a car.
Crap video. After 1:37, all I know is that it can drive in a straight line. I want to see how this thing handles curves, makes turns, parallel parks, etc.
The electricity cost per mile depends on your utility rate. It's typically between 1 to 3 cents per mile. That is less than the difference in maintenance for oil changes and tune-ups that aren't necessary for an electric car. The real cost is battery replacement. With the right LiFePO4 batteries, we have a cost of $.08 per mile. So for a total cost less than the typical cost of gasoline, you can start whittling away at those wasted hours.
i find it sad that that billions go to GM and thoses guys don't even get the few million they would need to mass produce this at an affordable retail price
@wabouli24 It's all about safety. When you buy a GM truck and you crash u still have a buffer. It won't collide with the body. Most people needs practicle vehicles, for moving things around at a certain day. This car can be an additional car for people who are running late or a recreation car. It all depends on how we want to use it.
If I had one of those, I would drive it in the bike lane during heavy traffic lol. Nobody uses the bike lanes where I live.

All of you people talking about tipping it over, you clearly haven't read anything about it. It is very safe. too bad it's so expensive at the moment

If one day we could all afford it, how much would be the price of electricity?
I must say I abhor the fact that right now millions of $ and million of hours wasted in traffic jams are not taken seriously by anyone in power.
