To beat Phantom its fastest just to attack him from above(Triangle -> Circle) until your devil gauge is full then continue attacking from above until he turns black. Right then you can use L1, and take out a little more than of his HP just from a ground combo, and doing the same air attack as before. After doing it once, you could really just finish Phantom off without using L1 again :o

I can't believe that you've never seen the two fireballs. They don't make any sense (Because when the first one hits Dante, he goes to the floor, auto-evading the second one). I've always thought that he throw two of them only for avoiding the "counter" trick.

Just letting you know if you time it right with your sword you can hit the fireballs back. From what i remeber i did it a few times

Yes, I knew that. Btw, It's useless in harder difficult modes, because Phantom shoots two fireballs in a row, making the one that goes back to make a explosion with the second...

Nope, but I hadn't played this game for looooooooooong time... What I can't remember is the difficult mode (I know that It's not Dante Must Die, but I'm between Normal and Hard)

Yes, it's possible. Look at the video, you'll see how can you hit him with the sword when he uses his claw attack. You can also do that in Demon form for extreme damage.

I think It's Hard Mode... I don't remember... Btw, In DMD, he's only more resistant, but the dificult of this Boss is the same.
